    Quite surprise that the baby is registered as a Chinese citizen, but it’s very comforting to hear in fact. Chinese citizenship is the hardest to apply in the whole world. Suggest to train baby Lincoln in future as a fast running soccer player for 🇨🇳

    • @Tommah1000
      @Tommah1000 3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      If born in China to a chinese citizen, the baby is automatically a Chinese citizen. Not a choice anymore. However, the kid can also be registered as citizen of the country of the parent with foreign status. The kid can decide whether he or she wants to keep the citizenship when reaching adulthood at the age of 18. That’s right China allows you to have multiple citizenships under such circumstances.

    I'm from Hong Kong, 2 years ago I went back to my home town in china. I tried to buy some drinks off a convenient shop. At the till, I pass some bills to the shop keeper, he look as if he hasn't seen physical cash in his whole life. He asked me if I can pay via alipay or wechat pay. I had to run back to find my uncle who is a local and asked if I can borrow some money on wechat pay. We as Hong Konger pride ourselves to be as futuristic as possible, but this was 15-20 years ago. Hopefully my city can actually improve technology wise with the social unrest out of the way. Wish I can go back to china to eat all the good food asap.

    I'm in Canada, and all I ever use is my credit and debit cards. I don't use cash anymore. My landlady (exwife) insist I keep 50 dollars pinned to a board, but I haven't had to use it, except to pay my grandson for helping me. $5. I do all my banking online, keep a spread sheet of monthly income and expenses (since 2013) and I'm good. Now I have heard of a few people who are using their phones. But haven't seen it yet. oh, I'm 73 and yeah, will see how things go in the next 10 years :")

      imagine everytime you pay with your bank cards you'd need to find your cards and present them to the cashier and wait for the password typing(of course you'd probably choose to pay without password and with only your signature) but isn't this way too complicated? In China all you'll need to do is show your payment QR code on your phone and the cashier is gonna scan the QR code on your phone and after a simple beep the payment is done....

    It will never happen in Australia, who is at least 10 years behind in such technology. Besides, in Australia cash is king because the tradies - electricians, plumbers and carpenters evade tax by preferring cash, not to mention public servants and private sector employees and bosses accept bribes which cannot be achieved through cashless method which is tractable by the authorities. These people would shout ‘privacy’ and ‘human rights’ if the society becomes cashless. We still have no proper ID cards in Australia because the ‘civil rights’ people protested against it in the 80s. They are such hypocrites. Corruption is rampant and the politicians are the main culprits hence they don’t even want to set up an independent federal anti corruption body. Australia is lucky due to its abundant natural resources but it’s people are complacent. It will suffer when Brazil recovers from Covid and be able to export its iron ore to China, by then there is nothing much Australia can earn its foreign exchange from.

      I still don’t understand why paper cash can avoid tax. Anyone can explain? 🙏

    • @paullau3835
      @paullau3835 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@smileyandpeople9030 for small businesses in Australia goods and services attract a 10% tax. Payments made electronically will have a tractable record and can be audited by the tax office whereas cash payments may not be, especially if there is no proper receipt issued. On top of that small businesses can evade tax by underquoting the revenue hence paying less or no income tax. Quite often tradespeople only accept cash for this reason and believe me there are lots and lots of rich tradesmen in Australia, a feature probably unheard of in China. By the way I am not a tradesman and always worked in big offices where I could not avoid paying income tax!

    I have one interesting observation here:
    The E- bike rental fee in China costs 1.5 yuan which is about 0.18 british pounds for 30 minutes, yet in London e-scooter costs 0.16 pounds per minute, plus 1 pound to unlock! The UK is nearly 30 times more expensive, how ridiculous is that!

      @@pahatpahat9566 Ummm.. Even if this is not the case, if its price is so expensive, I don’t think any Chinese will use it. You must know that China is still a developing country, and it has another forgotten identity, a socialist country?

      The same money can buy more goods in China, so is per capita income really accurate?

    • @猪肉普
      @猪肉普 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@wangdaren-ts8hl Per capita income does not accurately reflect the local living standards, but there is no doubt that living in developed countries can buy more goods with monthly wages, even if their prices are more expensive than China. After all, China still has a long way to go. it is meaningless to compare the quality of life with developed countries. Otherwise, why do they call developed countries?
      Of course, if your monthly salary is the same as when you work in a developed country, for example, you have at least $3,000 after tax each month, you will definitely live happily than in any other country. China's infrastructure and high efficiency are rare in other countries.

    • @yichen-ti6vv

      I checked the average salary in London, England, which is 4 times that in China. So it is normal that it is more expensive than China.
