Red wings are lucky to have Yzerman as their GM
😂
lucky to have had Devellano lmao
You want him? And can we have Holland back?
Is it possible that Yzerman knows what he will be paying Mo and Raymond but is not saying so he can us that better negotiate with free agents saying he still has get Mo and Raymond under contract. Yzerman has always kept everything close to vest and really doesn’t say anything of substance in any press conference. Yzerman knows what he is doing.
Of course
@illfatez there's absolutely no reason for Kane to sign before July 1st. He only stands to increase his contract by hitting the free agency whether he re-signs in Detroit or not.
That said, I don't think Yzerman will be willing to match dollars with what Kane will get from another team and I doubt Yzerman wants to give him the term he is looking for, so he's almost guaranteed to be gone unless he decides he wants to stay in Detroit.
When you are trying to do a rebuild from scratch which is the task Yzerman took on when he arrived as our GM you have to look back to his playing days. He was playing against guys like Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky and understood what made those teams so successful is having the people to back them to attain it. Mo and Raymond will both be signed by the deadline which is a given but after that it is hard to say what he will do next with the remaining cap space. Does he explore the free agent market. make trades, or save it to help pay for all the prospects who are ready to arrive? It is an answer only he can make but you must remember he was taught by Scotty Bowman to only make a move when it makes sense for the better of the team. Trust the plan that he has. He knows what he is doing.
Trust The Yserplan.
The thought of bridging Raymond and Seider isn't at all a red flag. It's not even a yellow flag. I can see the reason for signing a guy to a long term deal now ($$$), but from an organizational standpoint, it just doesn't make any sense at all. The two of them were still on their ELCs and were playing amazing hockey, but they also can't take their foot off the g as now. They've gotta prove they have staying power and the ability to quickly adjust, if need be. So, the logic is, to give them a taste (3yx$4m, lets say), with the promise of so much more if they can prove it.
This isn't a concern. This is business.
The only reason that Mo or Raymond would be bridged is if that’s what they/their agent wanted. I can almost guarantee you that Steve would like to lock them up for as long as possible. It’s all about the AAV. We know what Mo and Raymond are/can be at this point, if you’re worried about regression, well that can happen to any player in the league.
@@Winged_Wagon_Nation don't listen to this wheel guy he don't know nothing lol 😜
He does this a lot tbh😅.. he make a big deal of seemingly nothing in hines sight
@@nadaduo1765 Valid point.
Yzerman can sell the farm of prospects (rated the best in the league) and buy/trade into the playoffs for instant gratification. That would give us 5 to 10 years of playoffs at most. Or he can build a generation of talent like we were in the 90s and 00s. 5 years of potential playoffs or 25 years of potential playoffs? Which one sounds better?
He didn’t say he’s not signing Raymond and Seider, don’t try to read between the lines, it’s Yzerman, he’s a riddle wrapped in an enigma.
Maybe waiting on Kane to decide if he wants to stay. That impacts the Jonny Bergers contract as well as the amount left for RFA's. I think if he can't sign someone he looks for a deal that makes the team better, and maybe JB gets a fair shot this year.
I agree I think players should be given a short term deal to prove their worth otherwise if it falls apart, at least it’s not a long-term deal and then money is wasted
Yzerman is not so subtly hinting to the Raymond and Seider camps that they need to settle if they want to play on a better team. It's just a negotiation tactic. He is laying the blame for no deals by July on them hoping to rush them into accepting his current offer.
Yzerman does have a few options as far as salary dumps. Fabbri and Maataa can easily be moved since they're in the last year of their contracts. Won't get much of a return, but they are movable players.
Hope you are out of the hospital, and doing better. 🏒
So Yzerman, who has spoken to the players' agents, somehow doesn't know now much money it will take yet every talking head that has weighed in on it says around 16 to 18 mil for max term deals on both. Something tells me their contract terms are mostly agreed upon or at least known, but it's figuring out the other ufa/team moves. SY can work free agency if he knows the general numbers for each of them at various term. Non-issue.
Love to see some Offer Sheets this summer, lots of young great prospects
It’s no big deal at all.
Apparently they are trading seider to montreal for a second and mesar
Steve Yzerman is my favorite athlete of all time. That being said, he needs to get the job done. Not loving what he has done so far.
Why in the world does Mo have Claude Lemieux as his agent? Isn't that a potential conflict of interest? Perhaps Lemieux has let bygones be bygones but what if he starts chirping in Mo's ear to make him think he's worth more than he is? Just to screw the Wings.
Who told Mo Lemieux would be a good agent? Of all the agents out there to pick...smh.
Maybe I'm just paranoid.
hope your ok🏥
no way, seider is top shell
I like is plan.
lego play me in chel
Die hard wings fan but.....What have you done for me lately? All I've heard every year is a guarantee that this isn't our year or you may not like what yzerman is doing and trust the yzerplan. Yzerman was one of my favorites on the ice but my patience is wearing thin.
