I told you they would trade him-- and if they couldn't move the contract they would have bought him out. The fact they didn't have to take on ANY of his contract is astounding. Great trade. NOW-- the challenge is to reconfigure this squad so the pieces are more complimentary. They need a Tkachuk style player, a scorer and Jacob Chycrun is available-- they should move heaven and earth to get Chycrun.

Hate the rebranding! I just bit the bullet last month by buying an NHL quality Kings Jersey & now it's obsolete by them going back to a version of the 90's Chevy logo! Soo pissed!

Blake is a loser. This trade proves EVERYTHING blake said when they got PLD was crap, plus blake WAY over paid for PLD, love Vilardi. For all you PLD haters: Danault 48pts, PLD 40.
I think people underestimate how difficult a job being a GM in this league is. Everything is a gamble. Had PLD scored 80-90 points and the Kings get into the 2nd round we would all be praising Blake's moves. Granted, we all saw the warning signs. But then the PLD goes and scores 9 points in 10 games in the world championships. Sucks that this move didn't pay off, and Blake took ownership and got the team out from under the ultimately bad contract and also filled a need in doing so. It could be worse. Look at Ottawa, Columbus, or the many other teams in worse shape. I miss Iafallo (have his jersey), Vilardi was a wildcard. Yeah...silky mitts, dude has yet to play a full season in the NHL and nobody was sure he wanted to be in LA. And did we really need him? Byfield filled in the gap. So anyways, I think we give Blake a bit of a break. Most lessons in life are learned via failure. We would all be singing a different tune if he was sent packing and wins a cup GM'ing a different team.
I understand what you are saying, but thats just not how the world works. This is a results driven profession. Period. Blake has not delivered on results. What ifs are for fans. As such, it is time to bring in a new GM.

In watching LockedOn Capitals, that host was very negative and doubtful about the PLD trade because PLD is a reject from other teams, is a loafing head case, a floater softee, and a loner, etc. That show’s host regrets the decisions. On the JetsHub channel, the host was laughing their heads off how stupid Blake was and how stupid the Caps are to experiment with this fraud of a hockey player. PLD has nothing but negative opinions on the broadcast and print hockey world. Blake’s interview was very somber and morose that he admitted he screwed up because he said “we the Kings” didn’t integrate him properly with the team with the correct role. Blake inferred that Todd McClellen was also to blame for agreeing to the deal and then not figuring out solutions to integrate PLD. Frankly, the Kings were not at fault. This PLD is 100% bad news and at fault for crap play which was visible all season long.
I think we need to prioritize getting Jakob Chychrun. If we part ways with Roy and Lizotte, then we can pick up Chychrun or plausibly, more so fantasy, Tyler Toffoli. As much as I would hate to see those players go, we don’t have the money to keep those guys. I also think people are talking a lot of Thomas, Turcotte, and Clarke, but I think a dark horse on the Reign that is underrated is Andre Lee. Lee has a lot of potential since he is a big guy, known for his soft hands, and improved on his physical game. Overall, I think it is only fair to view trades one at a time instead of intermingling them. Rob Blake has made poor decisions but this one dug himself out of the grave.
Amart has too much mileage, should have never been let go to begin with, and let's not forget how disappointing toffoli was at the end of his kings career. Fans could not wait to get rid of him. Too streaky of a player.
After watching highlights of Tanner Jeannot from Tampa I think he would be a good fit for the Kings someone who is fast that can score drop the gloves and fight also physical who can checks!
The assets that were given up for PLD other than the pick was nothing. Vilardi was never resigning with Kings and he is injured way too much. If he walks and Blake got nothing for him the fan base would have been even more pissed.Iafallo had multiple 30 plus game streaks that he scored nothing and did nothing for the team. Kupari hardly played. He was on the fourth line that was responsible for the team losing in the playoffs in 2023. Some of the reactions on this video show how truly stupid some of the fans are that follow the Kings.
