do you have screen protector? i have a surface pro 8 as well and i just ordered the pen. just concerned about scratches if i wont apply screen protector. thanks
I don't use screen protector. If you're using it mostly at home, a screen protector is not really necessary. If you bring it outdoors, in a bag with other stuff (e.g. dusty), use it outdoors often, a screen protector may be useful at preventing scratches. The keyboard and pen are plastic so they won't scratch glass.

It can edit 1080P/4K videos just fine. For effects in videos, it's better to get something with graphics card. Downsides of SP8 for video editing would be the small 13-inch display which will make the UI of the video editing app look cramped, and you will have to connect to a power source because the battery life of 5-6 hours applies to graphic design work and video editing/exporting will use up battery much faster. Anyway, for the price you pay for the SP8, you can get a laptop which will perform much better for video editing.

The Samsung S Pen is going to have slightly better drawing performance, relatively speaking. And that pen is included, not sold separately. The main thing I don't quite like about the Galaxy Book Pro 360 is when you fold it 360, the keyboard is at the back and doesn't feel that nice for holding unless you have it on the stand.

If you have a Mac, iPad may be the better choice as Mac and iPad have many shared feature. If you're looking for a versatile all-in-one, Surface Pro 8 is good. If you already have a computer, Samsung Tab S8 or iPad are good.

@@CakKuntet Honestly both brands these days have tablets that will get the job done about the same. You will get better performance the more you pay (up to a degree when you can't tell the difference between performance and what you pay then the performance is more for 3d, games and such). Samsung and Apple use different aspect ratios. Performance of pens and tablets these days are not really what will hold you back whichever you pick. Apps are pretty good on both sides these days.

SP9 is mostly processor upgrade and should have similar drawing performance as SP8 as shown in this video. I don't expect the overall performance or battery life to be different.

I actually have a computer so I would rather go with the Samsung S8 Tab. But I would miss one important thing. I often paint fog in my photographs and work with layers. As far as I know there is no full photoshop version available for android. So actually I have to go with Surface Pro 8 to have a good pen and photoshop, right? Apple is no option for me. Thx
If you already have a computer, not sure it makes sense to buy another computer. There are many apps that can paint fog. And you can install those apps to try even now, e.g. Krita, Medibang Paint Pro (extra brushes are downloadable). And there's Clip Studio Paint but that's a monthly subscription app. But there's a trial version to test

Ok so between the apple ipad pro and samsung ultra which do you recommend for drawing/painting? I draw fineart stuff, figures and realistic style/approach. Money is not an issue!

I would probably recommend the Tab S8 Ultra because pen is included, has proper file management system, microSD card slot, SamsungDex, proper external monitor support to both Mac and PC. Unless you have a Mac in which case the iPad will have better shared features with MacOS, e.g. SideCar, AirDrop, iCloud backup, iTunes movies and music.

Why nobody is making a real real review on SP8 about video editing ?

What if you want to watch TH-cam videos such as makeup tutorials, will that affect the battery. Also how do you use emoji’s on the surface pro 8.

For drawing purposes, I don't feel it's warm. It's less warm than a phone that has its battery being charged.
