Question - I have a Rockville 7-band stereo equalizer with SUB-OUT along with two main inputs (and front/rear outputs). I don't want to run a dedicated subwoofer + amp. ie -- just use full range speakers. Can I COMBINE the SUB-OUT + rear (or front) OUT with a splitter to have subwoofer (low-low freq control) and have 7-band equalization at the same time? I tried doing this and this EQ....it only passes the SUB-OUT and then turns off the rear output (7-band eq control). I then unplugged the SUB-OUT and bammo...the rear output works and the SUB-OUT doesn't work. Basically, I want the EQ to do those two things at once with full range speakers...ie -- add subwoofer equalization without having subs...just full range speakers and stereo amplifiers. Thanks
Even if it would work.....fullrange speakers can't play down to 50hz, either it would damage the speakers or play distorted sounds, so it wouldn't have any benefits
So if I have a 2 questions if anyone can answer them. I have 4 channels of preamp output FL, FR, RL and a RR but want to have 14 channel speakers in the end. 7 on one side of the vehicle and 7 on the other. 1 mid bass 2 mid range 3 silk dome tweeters and 1 super tweeter. You’re mistaken… when you use RCA Y SLITTERS you’re NOT cutting your line signal in half each time you split it.. if you have a 5v Head Unit you will still have 5v at each splitter.. that’s like saying using a 12v power distribution block at your battery for multiple runs of power cable to your amp would split the voltage in half.. it doesn’t work that way..
What to do when I have the 4 rca preamp output instead of the two and I have two amps one for the speakers and one for the two subwoofers I have what to do then? Cause right now I have the spliters for the rear speakers and woofers
The best option would be to take either your front or rear rca's and use that the feed the audio into an eq which will create a dedicated and controllable front rear and sub output setup for you.

Hi, I have a Ford Excursion and I replaced 4 of the 6 factory speakers to newer ones (also have aftermarket Sony radio). At high volumes, the sound starts to distort. I understand that this is because it is distributing 4 channels into 6 speakers. My question is, can I connect 2 of the speakers to the pre-amp outputs so that the 4 channel output isn't distributed and thus no distortion at high volumes or does this make no sense???
Thats not why, all the extra 2 speakers does it lower the impedance a bit. the reason it distorts at high level is because youre expecting a true clean amplifier powered sound with a transistor radio output? any decent audio system has an amplifier in it, head units are designed to output low level signal to an amp and the amp should do the grunt work to produce clean sound at high levels.

RCA splitters do not divide power. This is an incorrect fable you have all been told. Cheap rca cables do lose a little power though.
RCA splitters weakens the out put signal. Simple basic electronics.
That's why professional installers AVOID using splitters.
@@408SPLKINGS watch SundownUnofficial’s video on it. He proves that it’s a myth. The problem is with people like you who follow what everyone else says and uses it as a fact when it is not a fact. Please go watch it so that you cease to give people the wrong information. Simple electronics! Lol
Bad advice!! Do not listen. Your signal does NOT get halved when splitting rca’s!
so that means that you can have a y spitter mess and not lose out on any sound quality?
sub outputs ? they go to AMPP n subs go in AMPP wtf u talking about.
His head unit only 1 pair of RCA
thats what hes talking about.
Educate yourself !
You got money for all that but nothing fir a new deck? Start with a new deck an go from there.. Its the only logical solution!!!
Fake info, you DO NOT lose voltage when splitting RCA wires.
He didn't say that. It was like, your using 5 gal of water here and 5gal there. Does not equal 10 gallon
Nope nope nope
So much work and junk to buy and you still can't properly adjust from the dash, just buy a better head unit with the proper amount of outputs.
The eq is going to be in the same place as the deck.....don't be a hater because people are searching for alternatives, and if you think this simple wiring is so much work then car audio is not for you
