I have now the Wildpeak at3w because I m living in Québec so is the law during the winter to have winter tire rate.. but I move to Alberta so overthere we can run 4 saison or M/S ... I m sure i m gonna like this narrow one... and for winter is better with narrow foot print....
Is this a load range E/10 ply tire, and if so, is the ride quality noticeably stiffer...especially on such a light vehicle? What tire pressures do you run on this tire?
It’s stiff but not horrible, I run 35-40 psi
Pretty sure I will sell my stock 265/70R16 Goodyear wrangler tires and Toyota wheels and buy new gun metal or flat gray colored 16 wheels and pur these 255/85R16 Toyota or Cooper st maximum tires on my new 2023 tacoma trd offroad truck. Mine is the magnetic gray metallic color truck.
Hey bud can you recommend a breader?? And what prices should I expect to pay for a puppy??
How does it drive on highway
Looks like Northern Nevada!
Do you ever regret buying a regular cab?
Id love a regular cab for my offroad adventures, but want an xtracab for basically everything else 🤷♂️
Are you on stock suspension or what all have you done and do you have the link to those wheels?
I bet they really dig ! I'm thinking about skinnies . Hows the lateral traction in the rain ? Do you slide if you turn hard in the rain ?
They have been good in the rain, not that great in the snow. Overall I really like this tire and size.
Brother, give it a bit of lift and it’ll be awesome. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 enjoy the nature by the way.
What wheels are those and do they need spacers? I’d like to get the same year of steel wheels thanks.
They are Tacoma spares, they don’t need spacers but I have 1.25 spacers on. The wheels are positive 30 offset.
Do you happen to have actual measurement of the tires mounted? Height and width?
how did this effect the notoriously poor braking on the taco? i have an 08 offroad
i like the tires ..,,,, quiet on the roads?
Yeah not bad, they didn’t bother me at all.
@@predictionpain2632 thanks … I go on road trips and the road distance is long
Are those rims factory, im looking for something similar for an 88 FJ62 I resurected.
That truck will snk like a rock deep silt or sand with it's substantial weight.
Does this size fit underneath as a spare too?
Oh yeah, nice rig, probably pretty capable 4wd with that wheelbase! Is it v6?
I’ve been considering the Falcon Wildpeaks, but much prefer the look of your new Toyo Open Country tires. Would the MT tires be suitable for weekday short city commuting and off road on the weekends? Also, how do these MT tires perform in snow compared to the Wildpeaks?
The Toyos are fine around town, they can't compete with the falcons in the snow.I would take the toyos all day long over the Falcons
@@predictionpain2632 Thank you for your reply. I am moving to northern BC in Canada 🇨🇦 where there will be a lot of snow each winter, so I either buy 2 sets of tires or perhaps get the Falcon Wildpeaks. It’s a compromise.
where is this at...trail looks fun.
I just bought a 09 regular cab, building her up now, think I'm getting falken at3w 275/70/17, anybody try those?
i have at3w lt 275/70/17, they are great tires if you use your truck 98% on road for commute, excellent on snow.
Where did you get the wheels at? Love this set up with the 255s.
Did you go to 411's with the 33's....?
Do you have a link to these exact wheels? I’d love a set
Truck looks sharp! How many inches for a lift? What about gearing?
Thanks 2.5“ just had 4.88 gears installed, long overdue. It’s much more enjoyable to drive on and off road. Front diff now has a Torsen , rear has a Detroit true track. A video is a in the works.
What width is your wheel? 😌
Any updates?
Tires are great no complaints, getting 4:88 gears in two weeks, will probably do a video about it.
Where did you buy the wheels and tires from?
how the 2.7 handle these i was looking at this size and 235's im concerned about the weight of 255s i have a Access cab 2.7l auto trans with stock gearing and its my DD i drive about 60mi/ ea day hilly highway too. more weight but less contact patch so im guessing it would be a even trade off. how are the road manners on a E rated tire?
The ride is great. 235’s would be way better for a dd, unless you regear. 4.88 gears are on the list as I don’t plan on going smaller than a 33 ever.
E rated is fine, and i have a 2.7 also.
235/85/16 is a great choice too. I think they're even skinnier.
Have you done any articulation / full squish tests at various steering turn angles? Since you have one of the few, and the only good video, on this tire size for the Tacoma, it appears you’re the pioneer!
Thanks, Zero rubbing after a few months of moderate off roading, wheels are 16x7, makes the 2.7 a little sluggish, will re-gear to 4.88 soon.
@@predictionpain2632 4.88’s will turn this truck into an unstoppable mountain goat. Hope you do a video on the regear process and lessons learned. I’m about to do the same to my ‘09.
Do you feel these would fit with just a leveling kit on a second gen?
Great vid. New sub.
Video is good.. The pace of it is very good. Your natural cadence adds to this.. Nice dog too. You should be kind and put something on that tailgate so he can get in easier, like leather or rubber or something, so he can get a grip. He could be injured trying to get in there with his feet all wet. Just saying..
I appreciate it!
Need to regear? I'm trying the Toyo at3 in 255/80/17
I haven’t yet but it’s on the to do list, it’s sluggish. I will probably go with 4.88
Was it a huge loss in power before the regear, was wanting to do this same size on my reg cab Tacoma. Didn’t know if it was too much weight for the 2.7l
It was a dog, I sorta got used to it though. The guy that installed the gears drove it before hand and couldn’t believe I had been driving it like that. It’s much more enjoyable to drive now.
Thanks, was thinking of this size with stock gears but idk because I like to drive a lot of roads with hills and some highway miles, might have to go with 265/75/16 but I wanted the bigger 255/85/16🤒
I’m going with this size on my 2005 Tacoma but st maxx. Trd off road on bilsteins @0 with ome 884 coils. How much lift does your Tacoma have?
Also in case you didn’t know that’s an access cab cap (topper). That’s why it curves forward at the top and your regular cab profile is more straight up
Took me a year to figure that out, got it for cheap used lol, had the st maxx, tough as nails.
@@predictionpain2632 for anyone wanting to run 35's Nitto makes the Trail Grappler MT in 35x11.5r17 which is 11.42 on a 9 inch wheel, but using the .2 of an inch per .5 wheel width change rule on a 7 inch wheel that's 10.62 inches wide or without the maximum tire pressure 10.5 inches wide.
@@predictionpain2632 because of the m/ t
Been watching your videos can you tell how to engaged into 4low? I’ve heard that you have to put it in 1st gear but some say leave it Neutral then 1st which is the correct way? Still a beginner😅
I always put it in neutral, make sure the clutch is buried in the floor before engaging it.
What size lift do you have for those tires
Are they loud on the freeway? I'm thinking to get at tire that is 33 10.5 r15 and trying to decide between BFG KO2 or Toyo MT. I do a little bit of offroading but not whole lot.
I’m fine with the noise, it’s not bad. The toyo mt is going to be heavier and more expensive. The toyo mt’s are built like a tanks
oem spares?
How much of a lift, if any, did you have to do to fit them? I've got a stock 2nd gen and want to get a similar size.
2.5” front 1.5 rear
