Rode my dad's 9mile new one today, as only running in could only go to 7.5k rpm. But jumping off my v4 factory tuono. It immediately felt light and fickable. Motor starts to come alive at around 6k rpm. Very comfortable, and the handling is flattering! Like a flying carpet! I will report back once I try it run in next week! Also he got the deal with free imu, so lean abs, quick shifter, the lot on his.
I really like this bike, I demo'd it a while back. I need to have a go on the RS as well to compare, but my major concern is all the recalls currently, with bikes needing new engines.
As a beginner rider I always look at the posture and technique of more experienced riders to learn from them. With this pilot I dont get how he is positioning himself on the bike. Have a look at 5:00 or 0:22 - for me it seems as if his lower half and his upper half did contrary things: As if his bottom would lean into the corner and his torso worked against it for to counterlean. As if he would mix a leaning and a counterleaning driving style. At 5:00 it looks particularly off balance, to me. Can someone explain this to me? Am I getting it wrong or is he using a very special technique that's mabye just not advisable for me to learn?
yep, he's a good picture for a track training course.. The before picture. I suspect him trying to speak and explain what he feels on the bike makes it way more difficult to concentrate on the details.. But indeed, some body positions are bad.
Solid, to the point review. It's a great looking bike with some good features but I wouldn't personally spend that much money on a bike in this segment.
MT09 or the KTM 890 might not make you smile as much opening the garage door but that smile would be a whole lot wider when you actually ride either of them.
The competition for this bike isn't the ones you mention, this is an A2 compliant bike so you really need to compare it to a cb650r... But if you compare it price wise then ye it isnt a match for the ones u mention.
@@Steve-motorcycles Because all A2 bikes that are compliant with restriction suck, the only good A2 bikes are the ones that need restricting. But let's be honest nobody actually restricts the bikes.
Having ridden all of them, I have to say, it's superb with the imu pack. That said if I wanted power I wouldn't look at little bikes at all. These are about handling, and this 660 is amazing
Lovely bike… but the price is downright silly! Add the IMU and quick shifter and it is the same price as a Ducati Monster… which will give the Tuono 660 a wedgie and steal its lunch money without breaking a sweat.
I don't think the winglets are cosmetic, I think they are intended for stability during highway riding speeds, here in the states, that can get you over 80 pretty easily, and in some places 80 is the highway speed limit.
Any issues have been covered by warranty, only real shitty thing I've seen is shitty dealers making it harder than it needs to be. Still probably smart to wait, but you can get by not doing so.
I've had mine for a month now and confim that it is a brilliant road bike! In Paris, there was a special offer and cornering ABS was included. I don't feel the need for a quick shifter as the gearbox is silky smooth, other than for finding neutral at times. As you say, it's not the fastest bike on the road but the handling is great and all the power is usable, especially since the whole of Paris will become a 30km/h zone as of August🤣😥
@@TK-cl1jm I haven't tested the RS but for everyday riding, the Tuono is certainly going to be more comfortable. Most reviewers have preferred it overall.
But, is it really naked? Shouldn't it be a half faired bike, like the old Ducati supersport and Susuki sv 650/1000 non N versions? :D Wish they just would throw the front fairing away and just attach a headlight and maybe the bike would be at least 600€/£ less :P
@@chrisglynn5986 I do like the street triple, but it lacks cruise control which I really want. I don't want any more power so I can't go for let's say the Tuono V4. Tuono's looks, trident's engine and cruise, that's the perfect bike for me. MV agusta brutale 800 is my closest match, but I'm unsure about reliability. Or buy a street triple and code my own cruise 😑
The MT-09 has mediocre suspension and brakes for how much power it carries, and eats gas like crazy despite having a fairly small tank for the size. It's still extremely good for the money, and a total blast to ride, but different people have different priorities when looking at bikes.
Exactly, replaced under warranty at no cost to you. That personally isn't deterring me from purchase, as long as they handle their issues on their dime.
@@ProudFilthyCasual yes I agree, I bought one. I think the only problem is that in the USA Aprilia dealerships are not common. So if you do have an issue there may not be a dealership or certified repair center for the warranty near you. And also some parts are scarce or on back order having to be shipped from Italy. So this could cause a longer wait time for any repairs.
Hi. So u'd stress an already stressed r2 even more and makin it even more unreliable... it is with it's 11.5 redline and 13.5:1 compression ratio not an old 600 r4. I guess to reach that 120 u'd need to get the 659cc up to like 850cc.
100bhp is plenty for the road. With shifter and blipper on the rs it makes it great fun and far less intimidating. Plus you'll piss all over litre superbikes on the UK roads on them if you don't just fly down motorways.
Ridden back to back against my 2016 factory 1100 tuono, with the imu pack, it's brilliant! Don't get me wrong, I was held up by it when on the v4 but on the 660 it just felt more involving.

Hows the reliability been on it, seriously considering it for my A2 bike
With the newer Models ITS improved

At 2:26 what's that on the engine? Is that a sealant leaking?

Agreed. For that price everything should have been included, or a much lower price.

What's the current situation of motorcycle industry in UK ?
Is it healthy or is it on decline ?
Recent dealers I spoke to, say they can't get enough second hand stock, so I would suggest healthy in North East UK.
It’s absolutely buzzing in the southeast and southern areas. Prices are going crazy.
@@Steve-motorcycles nice ....good news for me then I believe 😀

I’d wait a year or two more before purchasing any 660 aprilia. Otherwise, looks like a great bike.

That drain hose at the bottom HAS to get snipped!
You've got to really want something Italian to buy this over an MT-09.
I'm really torn between the two of them actually. Mt09 has the triple sound, but it's ugly. 660 has the looks, but the twin sound....

Please review the Tuono 660 Factory. It solves all of your complaints.
Mine has burnt 2 liters of oil in its first 600 miles. 😢
Street Triple R, anyone?
Tried both back to back and prefered the Tuono, but the Triple R is amazing too!
Nice bike, lemon ... paintjob... would fit, but for that price they shouldn't just build them at friday-afternoons ;)
Very nice bike
Lovely bike but I think naked is a bit of a stretch.
Really nice bike unfortunately priced so high alot nicer alternatives.
Let's hear some! Trying to decide on my next bike.
I really like ADAM CHAD CHILD'S Motorbike Reviews 👍

Nah, this ain't it, chief. Way too expensive for what it is.
