Frank is so amazing... just love his playing. If he would've been capable of having a couple big hits, EVERYONE would know who he is. Thankfully, those of us who are fans, can enjoy him right there with Jimi, Rory, SRV, EC, & JDW.

Yes he is THE most under-rated player and those who have seen him live would agree. I have been listening since 1975 and have seen him multiple times live going back to 1977 and never was the show less than 2 &1/2 hours long. He plays so loud that you hear nothing but ringing for days afterwards. I listened to an interview a few weeks back that he is healing and he left open the door to once again tour. Until then, go buy his DVD, its the best hundred bucks you ever spend.

Sick of the stupid “underrated” comment.

@@Dennzio1…Johnny Winter, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Clapton among many, many more Knew Frank wasn’t underrated.

@@Dennzio1 He said all he ever did was break even. They tried to get him to do 'Tales Of The Unexpected' showing a Thanksgiving scene and a dead baby served for Supper for the Album Cover. He's a Christian and told them to FO. So all they did was promote his 'covers' on the radio. He never made money-it's like Sacrilege. Fans and players know him but to the world? He's a virtual unknown and blows almost everyone but a few away...

He had to open a computer business to pay the bills.

@TheDennzio If you go through all these 100 best guitarist lists, you never see Frank's name mentioned. Joni Michell, Joan Jett and even Taylor Swift get a mention. Is there another word you would use? Underrated? In this case I agree. I also agree on Kings X being one of the most underrated bands. Yes, it is all personal taste and who's flavour of the month, but Frank definitely warranted more attention

Frank always sounded so huge!! Even in the 70’s opening for someone. He was a hard act to follow!!

Good lord, how about that for an opening number? 22 minutes of incredible playing, improvisation and genre crossing magnificence. Some blazing shred too!

I was fortunate to see Frank's 2006 tour in Springfield, VA @ Jaxx; also saw him there in 1991 when the venue was known as Zaxx; Frank is unique and simply the best!, there is no substitute!

Saw this show with my Son. I started following Franks guitar work back in the early 70s. I bought the Child of the Novelty album and Strange Universe . I have his complete collection.
His live shows are something out of this world. Just incredible.

I was at the show. First time I've seen Frank Marino and mahogany rush was 1979 Columbus Georgia Rock and roll Marathon with mother's finest, humble pie and angel. Still rocking Frank Marino because nobody sounds like Frank Marino...... Nobody!

I saw them on Easter Sunday in Indy on that same tour. I was able to be stand against the stage where Frank was positioned. Steve Marriot and Punky played at the opposite end of the stage during their sets.

1:02:00 Transitioning to Light My Fire - 1:13:20 Transitioning to Light My Fire (Reprise) with In Memory of Elizabeth Reed??? - 1:18:00 Transitioning to Bass Improvisation - 1:22:15 Transitioning to She's Not There - 1:26:20 Transitioning to Crossroads - 1:30:24 back to She's Not There (Reprise) - thanks for uploading this phenomenal concert. I was on my way out the door from Atco, NJ to buy a ticket at the door at the House of Blues in Atlantic City on 10/05/2006, but I got a call at the last minute and had to rescue a young lady who was stranded down in Washington DC... I remember, it was a Thursday night.

Never heard such a Blues/Jazz gig from Frank. And 70's stuff from IV. He could not help himself, had to play Poppy! I remember him saying "The next one is an instrumental" and the bass player replied "They all are"... That was in the nineties.

Been a fan of Franks since first hearing him on WSAY in Rochester, NY when his live LP came out in '78. Blew my mind! Never had a chance to see him until I saw he was playing the Tralf in Buffalo in 2020. I snapped up tickets and was SO excited! Then Covid hit... concert cancelled, but would be rescheduled. It never was. Frank retired due to his "frozen shoulder" ailment. I'm heartbroken... for him, first... for me, second. 😞 Frank is a unique talent... I hope he makes it back on stage one day, and if he does, I'll be there!

I was left with two sets of unused tickets for his USA tour, talk about crushing disappointment! Glad I saw Frank and Mahogany Rush several times in the 70's and 80's. Great, great shows!!!

Reminds me of the later days Pat Travers lineup. Two young jazzy guys and even room for a bass solo! I never saw Paul Harwood do one... drummers got their turn in the 80's on some gigs.
