I'm not sure if you'll see this, Frank, but we're all still praying and pulling for you. I haven't found any information stating that you are back out touring after your diagnosis and retirement announcement, but I hope that you are able to continue your art. As a fan, thank you for all of the amazing records and performances. As a fellow musician, I wanted to say thank you for setting the bar so high, and being such an inspiration to myself and millions of others around the world. You pushed us all to be better just by releasing the music you did. One of the greatest improvisers to ever pick up the instrument! Here's to you, Mr. Frank Marino! 🍻
One of the best songs ever written
@Sinful Bastard Child just my opinion... best song FRANK has written, to be succinct..
I'm not praying. Thats witch craft. But I will smoke a bowl or have a drink. Lift my cup to most awesome guitarist.
@@ozoneswiftak I don't pray either. It's just a common quote. You put a little too much thought into it lol.
One Great Song!!!!
Frank Marino is one of the best guitar players around. He doesn't get the recognition he deserves !!
NOT AT ALL!
Frank Marino doesn't get recognition? Are you flippin' serious?!
I've certainly recognized it brother!
My first time listening and I AM IMPRESSED!
Why doesn't he get the recognition?
greatest musician of our time. 48 years a fan.
You know it!
I'm so greatful that this music is still around. Makes remember why I'm still here. 63 and I'm still fucking young. 👍👍🎇🎆😁
All i can say is thank God for Frank Marino. Growing up in the 70's i was lucky to see Frank a few times, once at Madison Square Garden opening up for Kansas, another time with Aerosmith, and once with Pat Travers. Not only is his feel incredible and playing inspirational, but vocals are out of this world. Hopefully God will shine down on you Frank, and we will see or hear you play again !!!!
His playing speaks for itself, but I wanna say that voice is beautiful. Never really thought about his singing before.
LOVED Frank's band Mahogany Rush back in the 70's!! "Norwegian Wood" was one of my favorites!!
Love the transition from sweet sad blues to optimistic jazz improv. I am an older guy and have loved Frank's music for years.
If those jazz riffs don't give you goosebumps nothing will. Masterclass!
saw him at the capital center in largo Maryland in 1981 at the rockandroll marathon, frank blew me away, been a fan since then ,mohogany rush live is one of my favorite live albums ❤
I was in Hawaii camping on north shore, and I cranked this tune out while the Dat was ending to a incredible surf day. All the local Hawaiians come up to me and wanted to know this song. They were blown away by it, I was treated to killer hawaiian BBQ, and was treated like a king from them for showing them Frank "Guitar God" Marino....true story!
Mahogany rush always proves to be a people lover in a party expert party music
I think it is safe to say that that's a good story thank you mahogany rush rules
Definitely underrated, great guitarist
👍🇨🇦
Great
I challenge any shredder to play like this and sing. FAST SCALE RUNS MEAN NOTHING. Soul is what makes music great.
Bummer
With sorrow I am forced to announce my immediate retirement from touring, and possibly all things related to continuing my career, due to an unexpected and debilitating medical condition which makes it impossible for me to tour. I want to thank all the people who supported me all of the last half-century. I know that many were looking forward to seeing us play this fall and I was looking forward to getting out again and doing more shows, but it now appears that in the absence of a miraculous recovery, my Concert DVD (Live at the Agora) will constitute the last show I will ever have played. I ask any that are believers to include me in their prayers. - Frank Marino
It has been done
Godspeed on the recovery Frank.
Frank Marino is one of my all-time favorites, I saw him live once, and it was the best live performance I have ever seen.
so cool Brezze
the coolest of all time..to come
I heard Frank for the first time back in 1973, from the Child of the Novelty album, New Rock and Roll. My older brother had that album. He had a big stereo from Radio Shack. I was 9 years old when I heard that song. The next song I heard was a few years later. From Mahogany Rush IV. It was Dragonfly. CHOM FM in Montreal. My older brother bought that album, too. That's when I really perked up to Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. Then I bought that live album from '78. Then Tales of the Unexpected in '79. Long story short ... Frank's music crosses generations.
Fast forward forty years. I have 2 outta 4 sons that play guitar. Both of those sons absolutely love Franks music! One of my boys and his band won the "Battle of the Bands" competition in Atlanta when he was 18 and 19 back in 2007 or '08. The moderator asked him (my son), Who were your greatest influences? My son said something like, "Oh, damn. Well, def Frank Marino". And then somebody in the audience shouted, Yeah!!
And then I have my youngest son who picked up the guitar in 2016 or 17. He likes more jazzy n bluesy music. He doesn't like hard rock. So, I played It's Begun to Rain from the original album (IV) and he absolutely loved it! He loved Dragonfly, too. So, we started bantering about who is the most well-rounded? Who can play so many genres of music flawlessly? Who makes you feel the most comfortable and at ease at home? Who makes you feel the most comfortable in your skin? Which guitarist do you most identify with? Who would you sound like if you could play guitar on that level? Who's lyrics gave you goosebumps and inspired you the most? Based on all our music interests, it came down to 3. Jimmie Page and (Zeppelin), David Gilmour, and Frank Marino. We eliminated so many off that list. Blues artists, rock, jazz. Lots. Gone! Eric Johnson held in for a while. Why not? He's tight.
It was hard to decide, obviously. Then we thought, These sounds and techniques from these bands, Zep, Floyd, and Mahogany are very disparate. So it's unfair to compare one against the other.
So back to the original questions. Who is the most well-rounded? Who makes you comfortable at home and in your own skin? Who do you most identify with as a guitarist, and who would you sound like if you played on that level? Who's lyrics inspired you and gave you goosebumps?
2 of 3 of us said, Frank Marino. The other said, David Gilmour. But, he said, "It's just a difference in taste. They all taste different. This is an unfair comparison: Which Is Best? It's just a matter of taste."
Ok, so which tastes best? Which would you aspire to? We three all said, "Frank", at the same time! Hahaha! So there!! How d'ya like them apples? True story!
Here's to Frank!!! The best guitar player nobody but real old school rockers have heard of. The man's an all time great!!! Good to know he's still doing it after all these years.
Great stuff
He retired.
@Henry Jackson

"OLD SCHOOL"
Tell em henry
I wore out so many Juggernaut cassettes. Love this guy
How did I get to 48 without hearing of this guy? First time I meet him, he melts my face clean off!!!
2023 Wed. 27th Dec 1201 Listings to one of the greatest guitar 🎸 players I have heard Timeless and his band are just cutting it 👍🏽🥝🇳🇿now a fan thanks 🙏 for making feel alive 😊
Frank stands out in the front row with the best of them no question.
One of the best live shows I've ever seen! Thanks Frank
It's been a long time since I have heard anything in the popular music culture that I was moved to call "beautiful music. Now I have.
Talent beyond comprehension. IHe defined my teenage years and to this day . I'm in tears of joy listening to this in 2023 . We LOVE YOU FRANK 🖖👌✌️👃🖕
That is one of most amazing performance's that I have ever seen..
FIRST SAW FRANK N MAHOGANY RUSH BACK 1971, IN THE SMALL TOWN OF PERTH, ONTARIO. I WAS SIXTEEN N THEY WERE THE BACKUP BAND FOR LIGHTHOUSE….. MAN IT SHOULD OF BEEN THE OTHER WAY AROUND . FAVOURITE ALBUM…. TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED… 52 YRS OF ROCKIN MY WORLD
THX YOU FRANK 🖖
WTF! Just when you think there is nothing left in this world to inspire you. Amazing..
Frank, our gang would always go to the Eastown Theater at Harper & Van Dyke In Detroit to see you regardless of who else was on the bill. Every time was absolutely amazing!
I keep watching this over and over...INCREDIBLE!
To stumble upon this in late 2023 confirms there are gems to still be found...I have the rest of my life to enjoy this...What a gift!!!
I love Frank's playing. So much heart and soul...💚🎸
Frank, no one ever talks about your vocals... this is so heartfelt and emotional but masculine and full of force. Not many people can pull that off. Your playing is stellar, and this is my favorite track and version... but your voice man... gets better with age
YES- everyone mentions his guitar wizardry but he so seldom sings with this type of slower paced, soulful style and it is deeply moving when he does. He is one of a kind
The ultimate rock vocals!
His vocals are amazing. Frank is one of my all-time favorite musicians.
Franks Vocals are worth mentioning Heres my mention ! I love franks vocals on "Window to the World"
I love them so mch
And that Kids , is how it's done . Thank You Frank .
Today's music doesn't have soul, Frank Marino always has soul !
SO glad my buddy M.R. reintroduced me
to Frank's wonderful talents
A 50 year old young one here. Franks touch and sensibilities on the fretboard......so good. ✌️🎸👌
Love frank marino from the first time i ever heard him in the 70’s ,by far the world’s greatest guitarist.thank you dear god above for giving the world such a special talent.all prayers to you frank, god bless!!!
This DVD is worth every cent
Bought my first album 1974 Strange Universe.. all I can say is hat's off to my old friend you're beyond this world!
FRANK IS BEYOND MOST. He Is a special talent. A one of a kind. The best guitarist I have ever seen! Playing fast runs does not make you an artist. Playing soul from the heart makes you great! Shredders need to learn that.
Fantatstic, It's just a joy seeing Frank play.
Why Gibson hasn’t come out with a Frank Marino signature SG yet I will never know.
4 Strat style pickups... a custom finish on his fretboard.... those are just the things I noticed... 45 years ago this guy was doing stuff I couldn't believe....!
I doubt Gibson would put a signature SG out that sounds like a Stratocaster ... bad for business.
@@DaleBrotherton Gibson has become a guitar manufacturing whorehouse...! They could use seymore's or DiMarggio's.. do a limited edition & make one big fat Mountain of $....!
Cuz he not a sell out , Gibson is not even made in America 👊🏼
@@stevelobianco6116 Mostly the Epiphone line but have you heard of the Gibson factory in Nashville?
Thanks Frank for your brilliant work 👏 God bless you 🙏 we all pulling for you my brother 🙏
Always been a fan from his hometown of Montreal when I saw Frank for the first time opening for Uriah Heep at the old Forum in December 1972.
Frank Marino is a true guitar Hero!
Frank, i have been a fan since 74!!!! Thanks for being perfect!!!
That is phenomenal! The drummer has a awesome groove too...I mean all these guys are incredible
I agree, the band is faultless, brilliant concert, wish i was there.!! Greetings from the land under the land down under (Tasmania)
Aloha from Hawaii,
2023 - 1 year ago I came here, back again.
Great guitar player 🎸
It's all been said in these numerous comments. Timeless, breathtaking, mesmerising, otherworldly etc etc.
I have no idea where he connects to when he picks up a guitar - only the universe knows the answer to that. Beautiful beyond mere words.
God bless you Frank.
Great stuff from a living legend.
A real guitar player....no nonsense...pure greatness....
Hi Frank, You will and always have been #1 in my Book. I’m 63 now and have followed you since I was 12 Yrs Old. I bought the set with the Book and it’s my Cherished item. Thanks so much for putting it together. Keep well Frank.👍👍❤️
You know it!
This is probably my favourite video on TH-cam.
I've long considered Frank a musical genius (since the 70s, in fact) and here he demonstrates his innate talent for songwriting, this is such a beautiful song, his ineffable sense of melody, his musicianship... this just has everything. Love it.
So great to hear a fine guitarist play melodic lines instead of shred-head and overdone blues riffs. Definitely an underrated guitarist !!!! Play on Frank !!
Frank can play any style
Agreed...........jazz anyone
I would LOVE to have those jazz lines in my arsenal...
He plays plenty of blues licks don't ever disparage the blues
Such an amazing legendary talented man... he is phenomenal to say the least! Always love to watch and hear him! Wow!
I swear there's a magic in his music that brings me there to the beautiful past I've never lived through ...
Frank Marino was one of the greatest and most underrated gifts to the American music scene in history. Such an inspiration, such a blessing, Wow
That would be North American given he is Canadian…..
I mean…..probably the greatest rock/jazz/fusion/blues player there has ever been….bless you Frank Marino…..truly awesome….
And he didn't even break a sweat!
Since 1978, Frank has been my #1!
One of the world’s best guitarists !!
I think god touched this man’s heart and soul bless you frank
Agreed
Agreed too.
No matter how many times I hear this, I am transported back to a time when all was good and calm, my arm around my lady, and the lights down low. Thank you for that indelible memory.
I never get tired of hearing & watching this 👍
I grew up listening to Frank Marino And Mahogany Rush, Frank’s a musical treasure. Yes I’m another of the 63 year old guy’s found throughout the comment section who’s been listening to Frank since the old old days.
I just turned 63 a week ago. Tried to see Frank back when I was a teenager. He broke a hand or arm and that concert was canceled. Had tickets to two shows in 2020. That didn't work out. So glad for the DVD set from the Agora. A true master.
God Bless You Mr.Marino, you use your God given gift to help others with great songs .The world is a better place with you playing your guitar and singing.Prayers for your health from North Carolina on the Outer Banks. We love you .God is with You
Haven’t jammed on him since high school back in 81. I think it’s time to check him out.
Awesome ness Badass cool breeze
My Big brothers had your albums in his collection in the early 70s and the sounds off those records like talking bout a feeling ane dragonfly were amazing .just had keep putting that needle back on the dual turntable.God is with you Frank
Will never forget 1977 Cobo Hall Detroit MI, featuring Kansas, Mother's Finest and head liner Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. Marino is up there on the guitar Mt Rushmore with Page, Clapton, Hendrix. But that's just my humble opinion. Continue to heal up and Stay Groovy
This piece is incredible, it transports you into an enchanting dream
At age 63 I have a very short list of artists I would bother to see again. Frank is way up on that list. Saw him up close in Dallas. My teenage son and I were blown away.
Tomorrow is three years since my mother passed away and I can't stop crying , you are hitting all the right chords and feelings , thanks Frank & Mahogany Rush 🙏
My mother passed away January 18th 2021 and as you said the song hits all the notes and the notes are filled with my tears Thank you Frank
@@rockygilio3678Same day 😞
This song is like warm blanket on a cold day..
This takes my breath away every time I listen.
One of the best guitarists on the planet and a wonderful human being to boot. Still praying for your healing And peace Frank.
Close your eyes and float off to a faraway place where all is well and guitars are in control

Saw Frank and Mahogany Rush back in his heyday...couldn't hear for 3 days. I'd do it again.
I grew up listening to Frank I never get tired of listening to Frank God bless you Frank
I bought this DVD and had it autographed all for a hundred bucks you can't beat that.
I never tire of listening to Frank Marino. One of the greatest musicians of the 70s era.
A true genius.
This man was and still is,a joy as I saw him in the 70s live mahogany rush, your so great frank bless you brother 🙏
Thank you Frank for touching my soul in such a way. You are music.
Come on, let's be honest. This is the most musical thing on the whole internet.
The most underrated musician in the world. Frank is unbelievable.
WIITHOUT A DOUBT, ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED INDEED!!! 🖤🔥🤘🏼
What a soulful solo. Frank is a one of a kind on a planet with almost 8 Billion people. Proving that each Human is a "One Off" and there will never be another one exactly like them.
No one can listen and watch this video and say God doesn't exist. The sheer incredible talent. The 70's had Frank Marino, Ronnie Montrose, Robin Trower, Pat Travers, and so many more. I saw Frank Marino once. The ability of these wonderful guitar players to make a crowd of 10k young partying people listen in silence is a tribute to their ability. To mesmerize the lucky ones hearing and observing it. Damn, I miss it. What a time it was.
Well said my friend, well said.
@JoeM-by5tw.....Hell yes!!! Every one that you named epitomized the 70's sound!! Phenomenal musicians!! 🖤🔥🤘🏼
I've been a drummer since 1964. Man, this is sweet. I'm not religious, but, AMEN!
I was so lucky to have seen both Ronnie and Pat appearing at a small venue in Tacoma. They performed within two or three months of each other. I was amazed that the owner of this club , which at one time was a Flakey Jake's hamburger place, got these superstars to play there. They were two of the best concerts I've ever been to. It wasn't too long after that I heard of Ronnie's passing. God bless the greats.
God doesn't exist. Great guitar players do. Here is some proof.
amazing rock jazz blues mix
The smile at the end.. says it all...
Going to miss you my friend...
Been a lifelong fan from the very beginning... hope you recover..
Mr. Marino is in a class by himself....
May the ancestors continue to keep you cloaked in strength love music laughter health balance family focus light passion and fearlessness keep shining Frank
Perfect example of Frank's brilliant diversity of guitar mastery. MESMERIZING!
He is without a doubt one of the greatest live performers ever. A gifted fabulous musician!
A true master.....I had the honor of seeing him in the mid seventies here in New York. A transcendent experience.
Frank, I had the pleasure of attending one of your concerts with Mahogany Rush back in the late 70s in Pembrooke Pines, Fl at the Hollywood Sportatorium, you were amazing then, and you're still amazing now. Thank you for all the great music.
Speechless
Still have my record of Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush live I purchased in the 70s. Still listening 50 years later! He was and is still my hero and inspired my guitar playing to another level. Thank you Frank for the music.
Same here. I always aspired to play the Guitar like Frank. No one like him.
Had to listen to this again..magical..all i can say..your the best Frank..live on..
I love the contrast of weight and melody in his soloing; 70’s rock becomes jazz. Great playing, beautiful song.
Good grief what a guitarist... my top 1 !!!
I was blessed to attend the 1st Texas World Music Festival in 1978, Where Frank w/Mahogany Rush made an indelible impression. He's still making an impression 45yrs later.
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES FRANK...💯💖🙏
Same, Dallas

Grew up in Snyder Texas, use to play his music while getting ready for Jr high in '75, one of the best ever, Frank is the King Bee! 😎👍
I saw Frank for the first time in 1972 at Vanier college auditorium in montreal quebec....amazing then and still fantastic and mesmerizing .....great musician

I can’t believe there isn’t 10Million subscriber’s to Frank! There aren’t many guitarist that can pull that off. The melodic clean sound that jazz players have and the mood to die for. Get well Frank!!!!!!!!!! May the Lord be with you and keep you. Prayers are out for you. With much love and gratitude from a fan that has seen you 5 times.
Amen 🐝🌈💫
I commented if Under rated is ever gonna be used on Y/T It’s this guy. He’s a beast. I think part of the problem is his bands name. Rush- Mahogany Rush at 18 and stoned to the bone, who knew.lol.
