Jip had that exact situation lately. Guy I talked to: "you don't know that science won't discover the Soul 2000 years from now!" When I stopped in amazement of such ignorance he followed op with: "see you don't know what to say now!!!!!"

      I hope someone told him:
"And in ten years, science could discover that there is absolutely no possible way for god/ gods to exist, ever. Does that mean you're going to stop believing in god? Explain to me again why you think I should believe in a soul?"
I mean, I understand that the implication was always there, but religious people are wilfully blind and deaf. If you don't explicitly say these things to them in an overt manner, they'll continue in their blissful ignorance and pretend that such things don't exist in their delusions.

I actually got questioned about my lack of belief by my boss too. He wasn’t as hostile about it, but I was able to answer his questions. When he realized he wasn’t going to dissuade me from my identity he tried one last gambit and asked me “What’s the one thing nobody can live without?” I knew he wanted to stump me or at least create doubt. He was probably going to say the answer was love or faith, but I decided to hose him a bit and said “Food!” This began a series of him saying “besides that.” And me listing more obvious crap like water, shelter, oxygen, DNA, etc. until he finally gives up.

After 4:00 pm I began to watch a video on my LG cellphone that AronRa published to TH-cam when I was 24 on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Somebody in that video said said "When you appeal to gods to try to solve these questions they may pacify but that's separate from whether or not it's actually true." That is 38 seconds into the video. I think that is a white man from The Atheist Experience and I was 8932 (or eight thousand nine hundred thirty-two) days or 24 years, 5 months, and 13 days when AronRa published this video to TH-cam. Or 293 months and 13 days.

I'm a Virgo from a Year of the Rooster because I was born on Sunday, September 5, 1993. I got that information because I used a date-to-date calculator on Time and Date AS or timeanddate.com. PZ Myers championed Atheism+, which fractured the skeptic community back in the day (a call for everyone in the community to comply didn’t help). Steve, however, is intolerable to the point of insanity. I questioned him once on a viewpoint (very benign question, mind you) and was banned for having a different view. At the end of the week I was fired for not completing duties that she not only knew I had done, but had complimented me on earlier in the week. Faced with a manager who was literally lying to my face, I didn't bother arguing and left the office. She seemed disappointed by my lack of reaction. Christian love, am I right? And yes, I know that not all - or even most - Christians would have reacted that way. It's just frustrating to see someone you thought was a good person turn evil because of their personal interpretation of a myth that they claim is the source of all good.

I had a similar thing in the 80s where the ancient 'straight christian' owner of the business found out I sported an earring. Everybody told me he would fire me--my long hair already put me on the short list--but I didn't worry. He came down from the office in short time and sat in the breakroom right across from me just grinning and staring at me and asking me things like where my purse was and if I needed a tampon etc. while everybody snickered in the background. Fired within the break and had to call my unemployed girlfriend to come pick me up.
And now? That piece of shit is long dead.

Who has made you?! Or have you made yourself?! Or even if you think your great grandfather is not Adam but an ape, who has created the first thing and cell from which evolution begins!? You believe there is no creator to you!? Really!? So, I will ask you one question: do you believe that a far simpler thing than you: your smart phone from which you are spewing your "daring rejecting God's existence, or more accurately, rejecting your creator"
Do you believe that it has come from nothing?! You will answer me based on your evolution theory, that it has been the result of the smart phone company's evolution! I will ask you: does the evolution and development of the phone suggest no one has made it!! What a crazy discussion first of all!! This is just either craziness if true, or rejecting the truth! Of course there is the maker, and the evolution further suggests the creativity of the creator! And if you dont know the first product due to long evolution, this does not mean that there is no first product, and with the beings, creation, from which the evolution starts! So, the evolution does not debunk the existence of God! Instead, it further asserts his creativity developing and evolving his creation! According to you if we will suppose it to be true! For a believer in religion, no! Because God, unlike a man's company' product, is almighty, perfect and absolute, so, he does not need evolution to his creation. The great evidence to this, is the greatness and perfection of the natural world and human creation! and the miraculous accuracy and perfection, that a minimum deficiency, lack, mistake or difference in the galaxy from it's being and situation now, would have destroyed the galaxy and made it non being for rude creatures like us to discuss the creator! The least example, the human existence on earth, the great life's possible and available planet formulas and situation! In contrast to other non life possibility planets!
And only the crazy, really, who believes that evolution suggests the non existence of the creator, whatever nature it is, not talking about religion now! Let alone the non existence of the creator of the universe!
Surely, he who says this is a liar! Because even the crazy man cannot accept this! As the human mind is based on the causality law, let alone logic!

I like to think that there are basically three types of people in regards to the seemingly magical world of unanswered questions.
If three friends are watching a great magic act, one person says, that was a great trick, I wonder how it was done.
The second person is an amateur magician and they joke that they could tell you, but they'd have to kill you.
The third is a believer and he looks puzzled, and he asks if you guys are serious, didn't you watch him up there, he reached in the hat and pulled the rabbit out.
There are people that ask questions that they want answered, and there are some people that may know the answer, and then there are some people that are satisfied with the illusion and they actually don't want it explained.

Holding onto religious beliefs is like holding onto a teddy bear as a child. Children have them because they feel safe and comfortable. Theists have religious books because they feel safe and comfortable. They’re afraid of reality.
But the difference between a theist and a child with a teddy bear is that eventually that child grows up and doesnt need a stuffed animal anymore.

Once l was an involuntary witness of two christian mothers speaking about the Noah's ark and how merciful and loving god killed almost all the people. They were thinking what to say to their children ( age 8-10) if they ask their mothers about the flood. On the next day l asked one of them if they find the answer to the question of Noah's ark, the answer was - "We will figure out something". l heard very loud at that very moment the words of late Christopher Hitchens who once asked priests and parents about this nonsense " How is it to lie to children?" This what religion is - one big lie.

Imagine creating a living 2D universe on a piece of paper and giving one certain type of living thing special privilege over all others you created and then give them free will to do whatever they want. Some of them don’t even realize they were created. Some of them deny you exist. Some of them think someone else created them. Now imagine you actually get super angry at those kinds of people and decide not only they can’t be in your presence in the 3D universe after they die but also deserve to go to a different version of the 3D universe where they will be tortured for alllll eternity. Now just for fun, imagine you get angry at 2D stick figure men having consensual gay sex but don’t care about the man who has sex slaves of unconsenting 10 year old girls.
