And should I mention that in a Perma-Freeze team , you only need to change shot once in a while because of how the rotation works for that team comp . For melt Ganyu , 9/10 you would never use your burst because it will mess up your reaction and so on . In this case Hamayumi is generally better .

Thanks, very helpful. I'm still deciding which one to R5 for ganyu, probably gonna make hamayumi since it seems more consistent and I don't have to worry about hiting weak spots or enemies without weak spots.

This is an excellent video of the comparison and solidified my decision to craft my Ganyu an R5 Hamayumi for her Melt comp, even though I already have an R5 Prototype Crescent on her. The luxury of not having to do weak point shots for pretty much comparable damage is too good to pass up. I just have to use up my billet boxes to get there haha

In my humble opinion, these two weapons are the equally viable weapons for Ganyu, it really just depends on your playstyle, your team, or how you wanna play her, I guess
I forgot the Hamayumi existed before farming for ganyu so i made 3 copies of the prototype cresent before realising the hamayumi is potentially better. Either way both are good so I don't mind, im just not sure whether to try and R5 the cresent or try to make the hamayumi when i get bow billets
ganyu has 2 damage in one shoot: Frostflake Arrow DMG & Frostflake Arrow Bloom DMG if I shoot directly the one that triggers melt is Frostflake Arrow DMG (230.4% Lvl 10) I shoot the floor to make melt triggers is Frostflake Arrow Bloom DMG (391.68% Lvl 10). ^^
only for stats, i believe hamayumi is better if u have good crit rate ratio without harp. I mean if u can do 50-60% CR 200-220 CD% hamayumi should be better , if u can't then use harp to get stats
I'm regretting to make r5 prototype crecent, I'm not using ganyu burst while fighting, so hamayumi was could be best for me, but unfortunately, i don't have bow billets left now
Okay, so listen to this. Prototype Crescent WITH passive buff is 51k, and crescent's passive doesn't forbid you from using your ult. Hamayumi does, because it deals less damage if your energy isn't full. Hamayumi while using ult is 45k, and without using ult it's 50k. BUT its actually better to use her burst because of her passive, which gives 20 percent more cryo damage! 20 percent of 45k is 9k, therefore the total damage you can get without full energy is 54k, even more than with full energy!
yup burst +20% cryo dmg, but i don't think its only calculated and added from result damage, example is 45k + 20% cryo dmg and result 54k dmg as ur mention . so im tested use with burst, its deal : 49793 dmg. it's still less 883 dmg from full energy. :)

Just get one that is easy to get …..there is not big difference …..i had r1 prototype when i got ganyu and no hamayumi blueprint…….why would I neglect already buffed weapon for 1000-2000 damage !! Getting bow material is not that easy let alone getting that blueprint is time consuming!!

in theory, Prototype Crescent deals more damage because it's Passive gives Atk which has an effect on burst damage, meanwhile Hamayumi only boosts NA and CA which has no effect on burst damage. im tested with burst lvl 7 , Hamayumi : 4658 dmg, Prototype Crescent : 4665 (no passive), with passive deals : 6041. ^^

True, but not using burst is just waste of dmg. And Ganyu burst is top tier, unlike yoimiya, which is a pyro riptide.(hamayumi is good on yoimiya)

that's not true simply because you cant melt when the ult takes away all the pyro. So damage will be much lower

Love this comparison, this has helped me decide which bow to R5 for Ganyu as Bow billets are so scarce.
Bow billets come home to me too often Q.Q I would rather have more sword or catalyst billets but hey at least now I have an r5 hamayumi and left overs

Harp has really good base atk and if u have more artifacts u can sacrifice some crit rate for crit DMG

if u already have r5 crescent just keep it and switch to hamayumi when it gonna be like r4-r5, crescent still a decent weapon
Crescent is more diverse if you plan to run a freeze team too you could buff your ult but hamayumi doesn't just charged shots
