So weird, I am in Europe, saw them more than several times and most times they played between 2 and 3 hours for club shows and then festivals are a bit different cause there's a strict timeline, maybe you guys have some laws how late club can be opened etc who knows, it's just weird to 'run out of time' :D
@@mementomori1900 Never saw Blind Guardian, but saw Hammerfall and Sabaton in the states. Shows were great, but painfully short. Maybe an hour for each band. They were both in Silver-spring Maryland, on a Sunday. According to the friend I was with, state law prevented the bands from playing late, and everything was kept to a very tight schedule. I'm seeing Nightwish this year at the same venue, on a Wednesday. Hopefully we get a decent set. I dream of experiencing European metal in Europe one day.
In my experience, the metal audience is the most relaxed of all. Yes, there are walls of death, pogo-pits/mosh-pits, yes they scream and drink beer, but there is no aggression. They come for the music, atmosphere and beer. There will always be exceptions, but I have been to many concerts, a lot of them on my own 'cause most of my friends don't like metal, and have never encountered trouble, aggression or harassment. If somebody falls down, twenty hands to help him/her up, pat on the shoulder and move on. I wish the audiences of all genres were like them.
Well, the Wacken festival itself is a prime example of that. It wouldn't be possible without the acceptance of the citizens of that little town. Most of them love the festival and enjoy the company of such friendly, helpful and respectful visitors.
Actually, there was a French study that showed that the festival that had the least incidents (thefts, fights, agression or even people passing out from alcohol...) in relation to the number of people in attendance was the Hellfest, which is one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe
i'd like to add that there are always assholes in every community, i got dropkicked in my back while just standing in the front of the pit-circle waiting/chanting for the next song, got stretchered out, got a white russian for free, the next day it was fine again, shit happens.
A toddler got lost at a metal concert I was at once, and the worried parents were relieved to find the boy completely spoiled with an apple juice, a pretzel and a new band shirt, surrounded by a half a dozen new buddies. Damn, I miss concerts...
As a citizen of Krefeld i had the chance to experience the Bards Song on a concert with round about 40 People in Krefeld. It was such an amazing experience. I was like 3 meters away from the Band all of the people just singing their lungs out. It was one of the most beautiful concerts i have ever been to.
I was at that concert, it was awesome. After the show we kept standing there and singing the Valhalla-part for 15 minutes, until the next band started playing.
Hansi is such a great singer, but honestly, this video doesn't highlight that at all. There are so many songs that are more interesting and showcase his voice better than valhalla. The energy in this performance is insane, though, no argument there
The all '' imagination through the looking glass'' concert gives some great performances from hansi. Like' 'another holy war'' or '' and then there was silence '' and '' punishment divine''
On the other hand I heared them play in front of a small crowed once and you could really tell they all did not really want to be there that day. They where rude, sloppy and just plain bad. honestly that was like 6-7 years ago and I have not listened to any thing from them since than. It jsut kinda broke the magic for me
I think this video is just more for the Wacken crowd, it's just too insane to not enjoy. And I'm glad he let the audience go as much as he did while still showcasing himself somewhat, what an unreal moment that must've been to be there.
The Bard's Song is an event in itself during Blind Guardian's live shows. If they'd ever dare not to sing it... :P It's basically the crowd's song where every single one sings along. It's very cool.
The "ethos" is the community. The "ethos" is a feeling of brotherhood, connection. We may squabble, like brothers, about which subgenre of metal is "best" - but as brothers we tend to lookout for one another and support each other in enjoying metal as a whole. Those huge festivals full of rugged "scary" long haired, beardy tattoed types are the safest mass event venues I've ever been at. For a better idea of the incredible range and abilities of Mr. Hansi Kursch, please take a look at Demons & Wizards "Heaven Denies" or basically anything off Blind Guardian's "Nightfall In Middle-Earth". My favourite off that one is "Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill)". It's all Tolkien inspired, mostly Silmarillion.
couldn't have said it better, metal is one big "family". also Blind Guardian is basically a staple of Wacken. good choice on Nightfall, one of my faves, i'd also add any song off of "Somewhere Far Beyond"
Just posted my reaction, then saw yours. I said just about the same thing. Me, as a woman, can go to events like this on my own and feel safe. Most of my friends don't like metal, so most of the time I go to concerts alone. The scariest part is walking to my car when there are no metalheads around. Before covid, it wasn't funny to walk alone in Amsterdam with all those drunk, drugged-up tourists. The occasional junkie isn't the problem. Maybe I should ask some metalheads to escort me the next time.
This, 100%. Maybe the clearest place where you will see/experience this is in and around mosh pits. Like the outward appearance of typical 'scary' beardy metalheads it looks violent from the outside, but if you end up in one and you don't wanna be there, you'll be dragged out by someone on the edge before you know it, if you get bumped and fall down, someone else will catch you before you even hit the ground. People look after each other.
Love The Bard's Song. He never has to sing it himself here in Germany. Some time ago I translated the German parts for someone, in case you wanna know what he said: At the beginning: "Wacken, we'll be happy to take this with us. I would also like to let you scream longer, unfortunately we have little time left. We want to spend that with music, of course. I think most of you will know what's next. Has been legendary here time and time again. I have a feeling you will top this today." Between the songs, after the YOU ARE FUCKING CRAZY: "Wacken, I hardly dare to say: YOUR ARE EVEN HOTTER/COOLER THAN USUAL! We had a great time up here, we always enjoyed coming to Wacken. At some point it's time to move on. The time has come now. I'll see you somewhere." LET'S GET CRAZY FOR A LAST TIME! ... At the end of Valhalla, before the crowd takes over: "Looks great, sounds great. I think Magnus (Marcus - the guitarist) has worked enough, we can now bring Frederik (the drummer) into play. For that, YOU SHOULD SING A LITTLE LOUDER!" - worked like a charm 😁 And during the singing of the crowd he screams: some word I don’t understand, no matter how hard I try 🤔.. "give me everything" .. "mega" .. "the last three" .. again something I can’t hear properly .. "sing/knock us off the stage"
using „great“ as translation for „geil“ is a good idea, strangly this never crossed my mind when iam the exchange word great when wenn ich in Erklärungsnot gerate weil jemand anderes „geil“ eins zu eins mit „horny“ übesetzt ohne den kontext dahin zu erkläen կ
@@docknives3792 not exactly. He says vielen Dank, thank you very much, merci beaucoup and obrigado. So "thank you" in German, English, French and Portuguese. 🙂 The Portuguese was a little surprising. Would have expected Spanish because English, French and Spanish are the most common languages we learn at school, I think.
It's a great song for children's choirs at a school performance etc - nice melody, good lyrics, "family friendly". And if you watch the audience, you see the people who know the song, it's a "Trojan horse" for making people appreciate metal ;)
You ask about Metal's ethos: Metal is modern romantic music. A pre-postmodern ideal of beauty and strength + an embrace of death and painful elements like dance macabre / paradise lost. Good Metal from Blind Guardian to Burzum can be explained through this idea.
"The extended version" Actually the crowd kept singing, and they never really stopped, there is a longer version of valhalla alone where they just keep going and going.. If you want to get more gose bumps like this. Listen to "Sabaton - En livstid i krig live at Gothenburg" (a life time of war but with the swedish lyrics), there is a cc to english in the video it self. I cry for two reasons when I watch and listen to it.
"He looks like a dad!" no shit, he has been doing this for 30 years! xD Also I got chills when I hear THAT MANY PEOPLE singing one of the songs that I adore from a cherished Metal band
Can I just put in a praise for you Ken, and 99% of all other Vocal coaches on youtube? Thank you for allowing us metal fans to come to someone that does not ridicule or deride our genre that we so dearly love. In real life we often have to keep it to ourselves depending on who we're with, not wanting to hear the dismissive responses or experiencing the weird looks that we get (not because it makes us feel bad about ourselves, but because it's simply annoying). You can appreciate the techniques, rhythms and melodies, and it feels just *great* to see someone not intimate with the genre smiling at the vocals and instruments.
I love what you notice about metal... basically it's not about being dressed like Darth Vader and steal candies from kids. It's about the music, the stories in the songs and behind them, a way to escape in your worst times and how you can feel close with someone else that you know that he/she likes metal, even if you don't know him/her. The best way to know what I'm talking about is being in a metal concert or festival. A little recommendation for everyone, not just Ken: If you enjoy watching crowds going insane and being EXTREMELY passionate you should check "Best Crowd Ever - El mejor público del mundo". Maybe then you will come here and thanks me :)
That was my introduction to Blind Guardian! seing actually someone where I worked right as The Lord of the Rings movies started coming out gave me a burned copy Of nightfall on middle Earth, That opens my eyes to the inclusivity of the metal genre of music. About a year later, I was dating someone that in retrospect would have been a bad match for me but at the time he took me to see track Force at the Vic in Chicago and if you bought I think the album was in human rampage you could meet the band members and get autographs. somebody that took me to a dragon force concert that I don't think I would have appreciated without being introduced 1st to Blind Guardian. I was also around the same span of like 2 years I'm not exactly sure introduced to dragon forces Valley of the damned the damned and Herman Li is is still playing th-cam.com/video/utdQT7T4RBg/w-d-xo.html
Ken, metal has a progressive ethos. It was created to push the boundaries, not only of the socially acceptable but above all of what is musically possible.
Damn, it must be so unbelievably great to stand there in the crowd and sing The Bard's Song with all of them together! Definitely a biiiiig task on my bucket list!
I have done it more than a week ago and what a magical moment it was, afterwards the concert just felt like a dream. And it was a dream come true especially since they did my favourite ballad Skalds And Shadows, no Blood Tears sadly.
To me metal is the musically encapsulated dichotomy of struggling in this chaotic world as an imperfect human while holding a poetic idealistic vision of what we could be and the struggle when trying/failing to reach it. The human experience of being an imperfect being trying for perfection.
to describe the ethos of metal: yes its more than big bears, tattoos, moshpits, alchohol and skull themes. the fact that Metal became mainstream, and then vanished off of mainstream ( to be honest, for quite some time ago), and still to this day is big, strong, vibrant and alive, speaks to its capability to survive. Metal music toches on some very hard and often difficult topics, that other music genres wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole. Metal music is pure energy in its rawest form. and I would argue that the genre as a whole, attracts a certain type of person. if you go to a different type of festival / concert, country, pop or take your pic, people are most likely to be there to get drunk. where as at a metal festival / concert people are the mainly for the music. Metal doesnt need mainstream backup to stay strong and healty. we the community do that on our own, wich also speaks to the whole "F*** the world", mentality often found within metal. the world might be screwed, but at least we have eachother. the metal community is one of the friendliest to get into, believe it or not. its like an international huge family, more like a sister / brotherhood, stronger than flesh and blood. Metal is not just the music, its a lifestyle. so to sum it all down into one ethos: friendly, strong, worldwide, brotherhood, intellectuals, and best part, we're all united. I have my deepest conversations with other metalheads, if im beeing honest. metalheads arent afraid of having those. flesh and blood makes you related, but the Metal chain is forever.

In my thoughts and in my dream, they're always in my mind. These thoughts of Hobbits, Dwarves and Men, and Elves just close your eyes. You can see them too. I can't not cry listening to this song.
To put the sound between the ranges of anything mere contemporary to more extreme, it is simply "metal". 🤘🤘 I love "The Bard Song" and "Valhalla". "The Bard Song" is the most extreme of songs even if it doesn't sound like it. The most epic of songs about song sung by many and remembered by many. The most epic of Bard songs.
They haven't been back touring in the US since 2016. I missed their concert in Dallas because I was just starting a new job, and been kicking myself ever since. I hope to see them live one day.
Wacken Open Air itself is a complete different experience then anything you can imagine. Imagine the village of Wacken grow in 1-2 days from 2000 to 80.000 people which coming to go for the Open Air concert. And the very first concert each year is given by the the Wacken Firefighters which is basically a German traditional orchestra. Which means, you got like thousands of Metallheads in front of an orchestra and those guys going nuts on that performance. The local supermarket switches from normal grocery store to a Festival store where you can only basic necessity and they earn in 3 days 2 times the amount of what they would earn in 1 year. Even the entire village is kind of integrated into the whole thing. Local kids earn money by transport grocery from the supermarket to the festival ground. Or renting out rooms etc...
That sounds like a really awesome thing for the little town and an amazing vibe for everyone who attends. I have watched quite a few videos from the festival this last year and they have all been very impressive.
Metal is so complex being... There are reasons why people stay and explore sub genres of metal through whole life and never get bored. I'm glad that you are willing to tip a toe in it. Stay in best health

When Hansi ist talking in the beginning he said somethin like " We take "Wacken" if we can.We would love to let you scream a bit longer, but we dont have time for that. We want to use this time for music. I think most of you know what comes next. It was legendary here sometimes befor, and i think you will put a crown to this one , lets sing the Bard Song in the forest" Im sorry english isn't my first language, but i think you get it :)
The thing for me that unites all metal under the banner of metal is twofold. Good metal is about power and exploring/pushing societies boundaries. Power in all forms whether that's powerful riffs you feel on a primal level, powerful themes and emotions that go beyond just words or powerful lyrics that move your soul. And pushing boundaries musically with its new techniques and styles or lyrically in the topics it covers, emotive and often taboo subjects. War, religion, mental heath, abuse, violence and suicide are all subjects of absolutely brilliant metal songs. Thats why bands as diverse as Black Sabbath, Rammstein Blind Guardian, Metallica, Linkin Park, Iron Maiden and so many others can all be called metal. It's why a soft acoustic metal balad is just as metal as a raucous dual guitar solo.
I have been there, singing along on that night, as on many other concerts. Every BG-fan learns the Bard's Song by heart and sings along. That is why we call ourselves the "Circle of the Bards" :D
the metal scene is one of the few that still have a feeling for the man in all his states of mind, friendship, anger, fear, love and hope. The level of education is above that of the other scenes. Many really smart minds sometimes . In the fan base are so many really nice and open-minded people who look from the outside, on the average people, rather eerie. For a metal fan, these "normal" people like them describe society and themselves are rather scary and creepy, since these in life are more about things that have to do with selfishness, money-making, success, racism, conservatism or religious madness. The music of metal is multi-layered and often musically superior than the mainstream . The artists virtuosos of their instruments . Of course, as with all people and interest groups, there are those that have a negative impact on the public image. Would be a miracle if not. But by and large, the metal scene is the most honest and humane of all musical communities. But that's only my opinion after 35 years on the fringes of this scene.
I've seen Blind Guardian many times, I've been to Wacken, but seeing Blind Guardian at Wacken is really something I still want to experience at some point :D
One of my best concert memories was to stand in that crowd singing along with the others and feeling that fantastic atmosphere. That says a lot considering that this type of metal is not usually my favorite (tend to favor black/death/thrash metal). Still gives me goosebumps to listen and think back at that experience. :)

I was fortunate enough to see Blind Guardian in SoCal, and there is a moment that always sticks with me. The opening band was Grave Digger, and at one point the audience was singing along with their song. They wound up making the singer so emotional he started crying. It was truly an amazing moment, and it was just from the opening band. Then Blind Guardian took the stage and having at least half the audience singing along for almost every song gives me goosebumps just remembering it. Such an amazing concert!
Best experience to have - Guardians live and standing in the middle of the crowd chanting along with the crowd --- goosebumps pure --- it does not matter what song is performed
Metalheads are in my opinion the most open minded listeners. I listen to metal (mostly power, melodic death, symphonic etc) my whole life, but I have in my phone Dimash, Mozart or even Eminem... honestly I don't know many people listening to radio music or rap etc to have this diversity. btw... another great reaction as always, sorry I can't listen/watch every single one from you. maybe you could try Demons And Wizards - Diabolic (this guy singing with Iced Earth music, you can see his vocals truly there)
Agreed, my cd collection and Spotify list covers so many genres, my Spotify is constantly confused lol. Because of fellow metalheads leading me to react channels like Ken's I have found The Hu and Viking music. There is just so much out there and closing yourself off from it all seems so boring.

Your so right, I'm a hardcore metalheads,(thrash, power, death, metalcore progressive, etc) and I can easily digest or appreciate every other musical genre maybe because of we experienced the most extreme, intense music from metal
Then imagine there are probably between 50.000 and 80.000 people standing there (if i'm not mistaken) and they come there for all sorts of bands not necessarily this band. AND THEY KNOW AND CAN SING THE SONG. Goosebumps!
I WAS THERE THAT YEAR!!! Right in the crowd, it was freaking AWESOME!!!! \../ My first Wacken, what a great memory, I love to rewatch it. I also don't speak German, so had no idea what Hansi was saying.
Blind Guardian is what a Medieval Mintrel band would sound like if they had electric instruments. Dead serious. Their album Tales from Middle Earth practically has a squelching guitar solo going thru the whole thing which reminds one of a Medieval mentrel guitar.
And now he needs to check out the god of metal himself Ronnie James Dio. Good introductory songs for him are Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath, Stargazer by Rainbow or Holy Diver by Dio. He's probably one of the best metal vocalists that ever lived.
Stargazer is the best ever. But it's hard to find a good live version. Still, nothing beats this song. There's a very good live version of The Temple of the King though
By now this might be the single-most famous live performance of Blind Guardian and Wacken in general. This song is basically known by every Metalfan. period. doesn't matter if you like Blind Guardian or not. You know it.
What a genuine and pleasant reaction video! Even though I've now seen this Wacken video countless times, I laughed with you and shed tears almost as if I was listening to it for the very first time. Your overwhelming experience just jumped over to me. As a Blind Guardian listener and fan (I must have sung along this band's songs a lot as a teenager in the 90s), I appreciate all reactions to this video which has a very special place in my heart. Your reaction is truly special due to the joy you expressed. Thank you so much :) I will subscribe to your channel and can't wait to see more of your analysis, opinions and songs. The Bard Song is like.. the Anthem to all Blind Guardian fans. It's the one song they perform at every concert and it's the one song that seems to unify the entire stadium. Blind Guardian has been my favorite band since I was young, and I finally got to see them live a few years ago.. and I was part of one of these crowds. (In America of course) and it's such an amazing experience to be a part of.. and seeing Hansi smile as we all sing for him. Singing this with thousands of other people is one of the best feelings ever. Did it this year with roundabout 20000 people at the Summer Breeze festival in Bavaria. Just awesome. As many others have said: A Blind Guardian concert is just metalheads meeting up to sing and the band is also there :D

honestly that was like 6-7 years ago and I have not listened to any thing from them since than. It jsut kinda broke the magic for me
I think this video is just more for the Wacken crowd, it's just too insane to not enjoy. And I'm glad he let the audience go as much as he did while still showcasing himself somewhat, what an unreal moment that must've been to be there.
when your fanbase is so devoted they pay to sing your songs at you :D
Sitting here at home, crying my eyes out because I miss live-music.
Me too!
Ich auch *schniff*
I feel that brother.
Yup. It's not getting easier :/
Metal is a fellowship. |,,| 😁 |,,|
couldn't have said it better, metal is one big "family". also Blind Guardian is basically a staple of Wacken. good choice on Nightfall, one of my faves, i'd also add any song off of "Somewhere Far Beyond"
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Love The Bard's Song. He never has to sing it himself here in Germany. Some time ago I translated the German parts for someone, in case you wanna know what he said:
At the beginning: "Wacken, we'll be happy to take this with us. I would also like to let you scream longer, unfortunately we have little time left. We want to spend that with music, of course. I think most of you will know what's next. Has been legendary here time and time again. I have a feeling you will top this today."
Between the songs, after the YOU ARE FUCKING CRAZY: "Wacken, I hardly dare to say: YOUR ARE EVEN HOTTER/COOLER THAN USUAL!
For that, YOU SHOULD SING A LITTLE LOUDER!" - worked like a charm 😁
And during the singing of the crowd he screams: some word I don’t understand, no matter how hard I try 🤔..
He never sang alone here in Turkey too💪🏻
And then at the end he says goodbye in German, English, French, and Japanese if im not mistaken
@@00Jess_M ah I thought he said origato
My grandma (and I'm 45...) always asks me and my kids to sing "The Bard's Song" at the Christmas table...
thats AWESOME
If I ever have kids, I intend to use it as part of their bedtime ritual
Bless your grandma
Well... i'd prefer fairytale of New York 🤣🙈
For the love of Odin upvote this comment, he HAS to react to that performance!
Hansi is a seasoned vocalist who sings in many different genres. Blind Guardian concerts are some of the best I've ever been to 🤟🤟🤟
Blind Guardian is the literal bard of "epic stories".
Nightfall in Middle-Earth... What is more epic that The Lord of the Rings?
I was also around the same span of like 2 years I'm not exactly sure introduced to dragon forces Valley of the damned the damned and Herman Li is is still playing

Y ahora en el 2024, estuvieron sensacionales, fuera de serie....!!!!!!!!, manteniendo la esencia...., saludos desde Chile...\../\../\../
Ken, metal has a progressive ethos. It was created to push the boundaries, not only of the socially acceptable but above all of what is musically possible.
Damn, it must be so unbelievably great to stand there in the crowd and sing The Bard's Song with all of them together! Definitely a biiiiig task on my bucket list!
go for it, that was no exception on the bard song, it´s always like this...
and it´s more than worth it...
I have done it more than a week ago and what a magical moment it was, afterwards the concert just felt like a dream. And it was a dream come true especially since they did my favourite ballad Skalds And Shadows, no Blood Tears sadly.
Outside of classical music, metal is where you will find real music. Played with real instruments, sung with real voices. Real musicians.
And written by the musicians themselves.
The people of Wacken Village are awesome themself. Every year they put their heart & soul in it , to make their Guests wellcome!
Metal is passion. If lyrics don`t make you feel anything or you`re not passionate about the music then all the dark cloths and stuff is just fashion.
I like how metal you don't really grow out of. There are always some songs that will just trigger the lyrics in your brain
Hansi was also one of the singers of Ayreon: The day that the world breaks down!
And Everybody Dies...

I was just coming to say that I can't believe Ken haven't reacted to that yet. What an ensemble of incredible singers.
Back in time, before the Internet, I often wondered if Blind Guardian had in fact two singers. So yes, the shifts in tone did not go unnoticed.
In my thoughts and in my dream, they're always in my mind. These thoughts of Hobbits, Dwarves and Men, and Elves just close your eyes. You can see them too. I can't not cry listening to this song.
Ayreon - The Day That the World Breaks Down. It's a must for you. So many singers and different voices to react to. 😊
After 2 years I can still watch this! And it's enjoyable!
They haven't been back touring in the US since 2016. I missed their concert in Dallas because I was just starting a new job, and been kicking myself ever since. I hope to see them live one day.
As a little bit of context, The Bard's Song is like the Blind Guardian National Anthem, that's why the audience is so into it.
Your face says it all. That smile :D
Once you have seen Blid Guardian live (which luckily i have) you entered a different realm of chills
Metal is so complex being... There are reasons why people stay and explore sub genres of metal through whole life and never get bored.
I'm glad that you are willing to tip a toe in it.
Stay in best health
bit late but i think metal is the most real, pure and authentic form of music in our time and always will be!
If you ever do more Blind Guardian, please consider checking out “Mirror Mirror“ from their Imaginations Through the Looking Glass concert. Amazing version of an amazing song, and Hansi shows off some more of his range. th-cam.com/video/bYdd4fMtW_A/w-d-xo.html
i concur
Yeah, good pick.
And there is the song in my head! Ohrwurm-Faktor hoch zehn!!! The whole album is a fantasy novel in music form
Guardian is the band that helps the audience when they are singing.
When Hansi ist talking in the beginning he said somethin like " We take "Wacken" if we can.We would love to let you scream a bit longer, but we dont have time for that. We want to use this time for music. I think most of you know what comes next. It was legendary here sometimes befor, and i think you will put a crown to this one , lets sing the Bard Song in the forest"
Im sorry english isn't my first language, but i think you get it :)
I was there! live! one of the best concerts of my live!
Your exclamation "The audience nailed the rallentando!" remains my favourite reaction to this performance!
Valhalla it's a song that i don't like very much but it gives me chills anyway...imagine the songs that i like. Pure joy.
the metal scene is one of the few that still have a feeling for the man in all his states of mind, friendship, anger, fear, love and hope.
Sitting in front of my laptop singing along every word and having tears in my eyes. I just love it so much
One of my best concert memories was to stand in that crowd singing along with the others and feeling that fantastic atmosphere. That says a lot considering that this type of metal is not usually my favorite (tend to favor black/death/thrash metal). Still gives me goosebumps to listen and think back at that experience. :)
I love the diversity of music you react to on this channel. I've found a lot of new artists to listen to here, been a fan of yours for a month or so now. Love your videos and can't wait to see what you put up next
I always get the chills when the fans are getting into the song like in this performance and ..... I had a laught seeing you enjoying it too 👍.. If you want more Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) along with 10 other singers in just one song, then I hope you can find the time to react to this TOP LINEUP OF MANY MUSICAL INTRUMENTS/SINGERS: The Source is the 9th studio album from *AYREON* , a progressive metal/rock opera project by Dutch musician Arjen (Ahr-Yun) Anthony Lucassen, released on April 28, 2017. *_The Day That The World Breaks Down_* is a song that features all 11 (quite well known) main guest singers (you’ll be surprised) and is taken from that album. Arjen himself is telling (in subtitles) who the singers are and which instruments are used and by which standards.
Btw. This creative original clip is 13 min. long and I think you won’t regret it !!

This concert was one of the best experiences in my life. It was amazing. Pure bliss.
There is just so much out there and closing yourself off from it all seems so boring.
might have to dodge iced earth after their singer took part in storming the capitol...
@@caligo7918 I will listen even more. I am not saying I would do it, but truth is he is patriot and he did what he thought was right and second real sh...t is going on now around whole world.
But bottom line is I love his music, it won't affect it. I am not even surprised now that people are turning their backs, its always the same. They want to look "humane, right, equal" etc bs. On he outside but inside almost everyone thinks differently
@@button4631 Confusing the Spotify algorhythm is one of my favourite past times!
Goosebumps!
There is no better place to see Blind Guardian live than in Wacken! 🤘
That made me tear up a little blind guardian is the goat
Hansi will always be among best metal singers of all time. Hands down. And that crowd gives me chills.
Thank you for your reaction. I am very happy you enjoyed it
And now he needs to check out the god of metal himself Ronnie James Dio. Good introductory songs for him are Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath, Stargazer by Rainbow or Holy Diver by Dio. He's probably one of the best metal vocalists that ever lived.
definitely Stargazer, Stargazer is THE BEST Dio in my opinion.
This is basically the national hymn for heavy metal fans 😊
What a genuine and pleasant reaction video! Even though I've now seen this Wacken video countless times, I laughed with you and shed tears almost as if I was listening to it for the very first time. Your overwhelming experience just jumped over to me.
As a Blind Guardian listener and fan (I must have sung along this band's songs a lot as a teenager in the 90s), I appreciate all reactions to this video which has a very special place in my heart.
Your reaction is truly special due to the joy you expressed. Thank you so much :)
I will subscribe to your channel and can't wait to see more of your analysis, opinions and songs.
PS: videos like yours a) make me miss the german metal festivals, but b) bring the metal festivals' joy to my room for a few minutes.
I'll never forget it. ♥️

Now imagine being there. Standing among the crowd. I was singing as loud as humanly possible while crying like there was no tomorrow... Feelings, bro.

I've been there, it was unbelievable. Half the people continued singing "Valhalla" for an hour. even on the campingground :D
Fantastic reacion - enjpyed it so much! Thanks alot!
After this performance you could still hear them singing on the camp ground. An everlasting power metal hymn!
Watching this makes me miss the festival season so much. Please god, let this pandemic end before summer so I can go see them this august.
Singing this with thousands of other people is one of the best feelings ever. Did it this year with roundabout 20000 people at the Summer Breeze festival in Bavaria. Just awesome. As many others have said: A Blind Guardian concert is just metalheads meeting up to sing and the band is also there :D
I was there at Wacken that day, like the 8 years before. If you want the audience singing + metal, you should look at the song "Nightfall".
I got Into Metal, because it was easy for me to Connect to it. because of Depressions and shit.
And I can't speak for all, but many people listen to it because it represents strength in a cruel world.

Came here for Blind Guardian, stayed to enjoy Blind Guardian with you for your first time. Thank you Hansi, thank you Ken.
i know i am a little bit late to the party, and when you said that you love how the singer can easily swap between clear and growling, i had to think about elli berlin, she is the singer of null postiiv, and in her cover song "ich bin der Nachtwind" she does that to, and it sounds so easily, and so beautifull. of course i would love to see you reacting to that song, but i guess this wont happen. but anyways, thank you for your good and entertaining work, much love!
u need to know, that theres no end in Valhalla, BG goes off stage, but the crowd sings multiple hours ;)
They've got a song called Lord of the Rings where the crowd sings canon at one point. I shit you not. It's the greatest thing being in that crowd.
