    Awesome video. Thanks alot for this. My Father in laws bakkie cambelt is slapping the cover so either the tensioner has failed or come lose. Will strip it this weekend coming and replace the belt and tensioner.

    Thank You. What is the proper temperature in this car? 80 C? Mine is 97-99 oC and water is boiling. I replaced thermostat and checked pump. There is no junk in heater on the front. can it be problem with oil pump or something else?

    • @lewisdaily1489

      Howsit, as far as I know (from my newer Corsa D) the temperature is generally supposed to be around the 90 - 98 degree range. The internet says that the temperature for Corsa C (the model in this video) is generally between 85 - 99 degrees.
      If you're worried that it's running too hot all the time but the temp gauge doesn't show it's running hot, maybe your temp sensor is bad or clogged or something? Don't take my word for it though 😅

      If your coolant is boiling then your coolant system isn't building up pressure. If you are adding coolant on a regular basis, check hoses radiator etc for leaks. Also replace expansion tank cap (yellow cap) as those can also fail and let air through. I would say start with the yellow cap as its the cheapest part to replace.

    Hi, I have a problem with my car it's the same engine as yours.
    My timing belt wore out, so I went to buy a new belt and fitted it and checked my timing marks to make sure then I cranked it but the belt keeps moving inwards and my car won't start now I really don't know what to do. What would you suggest I do?

    • @lewisdaily1489
      @lewisdaily1489  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mario, are you only replacing the timing belt or are you also replacing the belt tensioner and idler pulley?

    Hi Lewis, What are the torque settings for the crank bolt?

    • @lewisdaily1489
      @lewisdaily1489  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jacques, I searched around for a workshop manual or any kind of torque spec rating on the bolt and I couldn't find any solid info. I made sure to tighten it real snug and so far no issues at all 5 years later.

    one question how long will take this kind of service? from this video that I can see 30min?...
    p.s. I have all parts 😆

    • @lewisdaily1489
      @lewisdaily1489  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have all the parts, all the right tools and you've done this before (or comfortable working on cars), it would probably take 60min to 90min. Otherwise expect it to be a full Saturday afternoon job 😉
