Thanks for the very informative videos, much appreciated. Does anyone else experience a strong fuel smell in the cabin of the corsa utility? I've checked all the hoses and changed the fuel filter but there's no signs of leaks and a strong smell outside but not inside
Excellent content thanks a million. Question: Please could you advise me on troubleshooting my 2009 Corsa 1.4 utility heat gauge sudden rise to around 95degrees. I put 12v to the fan and it turned on. What should I check next
Hi . Thanks. Man it can be a number of things . Best to start checking the entire cooling system and then work your way from there. And of course go to a reputable shop.
@@solveitautomotive9485 also, I saw in one of your videos that if it’s the water pump there would be signs of a leak. What are the signs your thermostat is damaged?
@@famba0 a main factor in all problems is how well you did your services. Also certain parts particularly moving parts need to be changed out between 50 to a hundred thousand kilometres eg water pump, thermostat, oil pump , tensioners , lifters rockers etc. So you need to determine how old the parts are in your engine. The type of coolant in the engine is very important.
@@solveitautomotive9485 one last question. I idled the bakkie this morning and at around 80degrees the fan came on and all was working perfectly. Then I did the same a few minutes ago and temp went up to 90 with no fan coming on. Does the thermo switch offer both temp indication and tells the fan when to switch on or is there something else control when it turns on
Hi I'm good , hope you are to. This is a great question , yes you do have to take off the cam sprocket. The best way is to mark the position on the sprocket in two opposite places before removing it and then tie the timing belt in place with cable ties in the same way. So prior to this you may want to evaluate the situation and check what else needs to be done eg timing belt , tensioner, water pump, oil pump, check crank sprocket. These answers will be determined by how you do your minor and major services.
@@ShelwynnShanders You know it's a process of elimination determining what could be the issue , therefore it's best to take out and check and clean the o2 sensor , check idle valve , mass air , air filter , injectors , fuel pump, fuel relay , air pipes etc. and it's best to use OEM parts if and where possible.
Hi there i bought an Corsa 1.4i it had a rough idle and sometimes cuts out. i replaced basically all sensors with a great improvement but there is still a slight miss. any idea or how can i contact you
Hey, I've replaced my fuel filter, idle control valve, throttle sensor and cleaned the carburetor. All the injectors works. But still the idling cuts on start up... It only idles on it's own after I pedal to help for about 10 seconds... All the pipes are in tact.
Hi it's hard to give an answer cause it can be a number of issues. I take it it's a Corsa gamma 1,4 with fuel injection. Before you replaced it did u have the same problem. I would advise that if you replaced the idle air valve , that it be a OEM one an not a pirate from the spare shop. Those ones don't last and they don't communicate properly with the ecu.
Good day sir , i was wondering if u could help me , my speedo doesn't work , i checked all the fuses can the sensor be faulty , must i replace it and which fuse is the speedo fuse please help
Hi can you tell us where the temperature gauge sensor is located, we have an opel corsa 1.4i lite. The temp gauge is not working at all when u switch car on. Also the car has high revs intermittently.
It travels between cold and half . It never goes over . In traffic in summer it goes to half , no further. I have replaced the radiator thermostat and water pump twice since that video The main reason is that they are not OEM parts and need to be replaced every two years .
@solveitautomotive9485 I replaced head, new waterpump and thermostat on 1.4i corsa. It use to take long to heat up and then after a while sits on 1/4. Now it would go just above 1/4 to almost half them go down to just above 1/4 again.
Hi man, I've the same car, it has high revs, tried to clean the throttle body and the sensors still the same. On the other side it is making a fun ticking sound near the injectors. Can you help me on that please?
Hi it is hard to give an answer, but possible u have a electrical problem at the coil pack. When it revs high press down in the wires of the loom closest the coil. See if the revs drop. Inspect all electrical plugs around that area for water or oil inside them All sensors must be OEM (made in Mexico) not after market. Clean out air idle sensor with carb cleaner as well as maff sensor with maff cleaner. A good service can help. air filter, plugs oil , oil filter , plug wires.
Lekka video, summer is around the corner...cooling system must function 100%, preventive maintenance is better than costly repairs 👍
Plastic heater hoses are a night mare . Thanks for the knowledge
Very well presented video
Thank you @roryfreeman9433
Very Good video !
Is there a next video on the fuel system available yet? This is a very informative and enjoyable series. Even took notes. lol
Lol yes it's coming.
My friend what year model is that engine please
Looking for advise what can one do if the expansion tank leaks by the cap even though you have a new cap
Best to replace the whole tank . You can get them at scrap dealers or buy it new at @goldwagen or @takealot
