Just days before his Grammy performance, Queens of the Stone Age guitarist, Troy Van Leeuwen gave us a run down of his latest pedal board featuring Minifoogers. Each Minifooger is assembled by hand at the Moog factory in downtown Asheville, NC in a rugged, cast aluminum enclosure and features a 100% analog signal path, true bypass design, optional battery power, and a single expression pedal input that provides hands-free control of one specified parameter for under $200 a piece.
I met Troy once in 2004. Coolest guy ever. Talked with me and my friends for about an hour.
wow, how did that come to pass?
You got a killer rig there, man.
One of the best dressed guitarists ever.
Yeah, he has nice heels
"Yeah." ~Troy Van Leeuwen, 2014
🤣🤣🤣
"I'm so GD slick baby, it's a sin." Bet you didn't know that line was about Troy.
Also, the synth stuff on EV is absolutely epic.
Misfit love
Tremolo AFTER reverb! YES!!
i'm not ashamed to say that I have a massive man-crush on Troy.
Why did they stop making that expression pedal!?
Those shoes though
I want some :-/
The Minifoog is Love.
The silent genius.
he didn't write the lead guitar soloing in Gonna Leave You, the way he plays it in all of his debut years shows.......fucking perfect
@@startervisions Can you reference a good live video to hear what you’re talking about?
He's very clean; isn't he?
cool rig, cool boots
"some time spilt beer ends up on pedals.." Troy is a very quotable QOTSA member..
GIVE THIS MAN A SIGNATURE WAH!!!!!!
he has beautiful eyes o.O
qotsa - probably the best band in the world .. Probably ; )
you right man
+The Festa Definitely my favourite.
2:53 onward sound like SONOIO
The MP-201 has been out of production for some time.
i want that shirt.
I want that Jazzmaster
THE YAMAHA TVL SNG GUITAR WAS ONE OF THE COOLEST GUITARS EVER I CAN NOT BELIEVE I SOLD MINE FUUUUUUUUUCK!
Please reissue the MP-201. When mine breaks, I don't want to pay an arm and leg for another one. Troy should use his influence to make it so.
Check out the Source audio Reflex - oO
Dude. Just get yours repaired if you can't do it yourself.
Where can I buy the 4 button expression pedal? i have the mf delay and mf trem and that expression pedal would be perfect
They don't make it anymore...
That dude is a slick
Those boots though
Is that a Moog lap steel? I would very much like to have that Moog lap steel!!!
-What's that pink pedal?
- It means ... you know... my shirt... the carpet...the cushions...no choice.
-Oh yeah! I like it too...sure!
Rejoin Failure. Unite the clans.
Which song is the riff at the very beginning of the video from?
What was that song he played in the intro
Love those sounds and his willingness to experiment. QOTSA are a huge influence on Giant 1.
what song is he playing at 3:45?
Darude "Sandstorm"
Cant find that controller pedal?
What's the pink pedal on the op left??
Avalanche machine EQD
This shit makes me scratch my head so much... I mean I like to think I'm a fairly competent guitarist, but I know sweet fuck all about effects.. truth be told I've never been in a position to drop hundreds on effects pedals.
And that's ok dude. Do what you want that fits your guitar style. I personally use lots of effects. But i also like just playing straight in the amp, especially when practicing by myself. Effects are fun, but so is having no effects. It's music after all! :)
Nothing like a good amp and guitar combo to make you feel at home, but damn effects are fun too! Nothing like experimenting with sounds.
+A. Meister Totally agree dude. I love effect pedals and use a bunch of weird stuff, but the key to your sound is and will always be your fingers (applies to girls too)
A. Meister yeah, but that's the thing. Playing on an electric for a year influenced my to play faster which changed up my sound. Playing on a big old acoustic dreadnought changed my sound. Playing on a 12 string changed my sound. This is an aspect me and a lot of other people just plum won't have access too.
His role in QOTSA has become heavy on effects and backround sounds, can't remember the name of the video but it's on youtube. He talks about how his pedalboard has grown bc his role in Queens.
At 0:30 did anyone else watching full screen try to wipe a fuzz off your screen in the top/middle left of the screen? =O Tricksy fuzz on the camera!
wow, a white moogerfooger delay!
i think all the moogerfoogers are white now?
Limited edition. 500 made. Went and looked it up. I have an original 104, serial 666 out of 1000 made.
haha 666 that's badass.
I thought the white ones were standard because they changed the photos for a while on the site but now they're back. would be cool to have a 2 colour option, especially if you're having two very similar looking moogerfoogers and you're using them on stage.
The company??? ............. Really?
tbh, guitarists like troy are annoying af because they do things that dont seem possible and forever lesser men get to be reminded of their inferiority
Guy can't even pronounce Moog! smh
That dude is a slick
