  • The city dumped more than 1,300 megalitres of partially treated wastewater into Lake Ontario during Tuesday’s torrential downpour, which is enough to fill 500 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
A city spokesperson said three wastewater plants were “bypassing,” a process in which stormwater and sewage are diverted from a secondary treatment procedure.
Health officials have advised against swimming in Lake Ontario for 48 hours after rainfall due to the possible presence of high levels of bacteria. On Wednesday, all of Toronto’s beaches were under a red flag.
The 10 beaches were marked unsafe for swimming due to high levels of E.coli in the water.

Nobody thinking about the population getting out of hand.
More people equals more maintenence. Biggest and most important is water maintenance.
We need to stop bringing in people to Canada for at least 1 year. We have babies born here everyday so the economy won't ever shrink, Nobody is gonna listen until it's too late.

Toronto's sidewalks have human waste matter, and syringes in them. The rain washed all these things somewhere. 😬

we went to Vancouver. Went to a bar near the homeless encampment. I cut thru an alley. when I got to the car I slipped my feet out .. left my shoes (somebody lucked out) and drove back to the place in socks. No shit. 😳 (no pun intended😅 ) But I just couldn't get past thinking about the soles of those shoes. I gagged every time. And I can butcher etc.. pretty iron stomach.. All these people .. no bathrooms.. I mean. it sums up the governments performance to a T. Living in tents on the sidewalk no bathrooms. there was lots of land close to downtown.. they could build solid concrete washrooms and showers.. nothing but concrete and plot out the land. Pile of pallets over there if you want some. Resources could be passed out there. The gov is so incompetent they actually have the downtowns piling up with sht. It just seemed to me that if I wanted to harm a city as a politician .. im not sure of one thing more I could then the current administration. They are 100% right at getting it wrong. truth. Good luck.

Maybe instead of spending millions on street signs, the taxpayers' funds should be spent improving our infrastructure?

    • @canadiansfor2A

@pacman3556 spending the money on updating storm drains, expanding them, maintenance, expanding water management, reservoirs, planting trees, and grass.
All would be a better use of taxpayers dollars then spending millions on changing street signs for chows, woke agenda, and pass so-called racism!

The news is such BS. So here’s the facts. Our cities sewer system was first installed in 1835. Since then it has been updated and changed. But one thing has stayed the same. The rain water, and the sewer water, go into the same pipe.
If you look at maps of Toronto before they filled in all the creeks. Toronto was just a bunch of creeks, Davenport is one of, if not the oldest street in Toronto, and 15,000 years ago, south of Davenport rd, was water. Fast forward 15,000 years. To modern day, and there’s a city there.
Where Lake Ontario came all the way up to the Lawrence market which is at front st, all that land way built. When the highway flooded, is where the Thomson creek was. They filled it in when they made the highway.
Find an old map of all the creeks that ran through York/Toronto. And it explains everything.
Also there’s a lake right there. Of course rain/sewer waste finds its way into Lake Ontario. It’s a massive mass of water. The fact that we just had that massive storm, the public are oblivious to the obvious that where does all that water go? And if the system is flooded. The excess is where…the fact the people can’t see the obvious. Our city FLOODED. “Who wants to go swimming!?”. I don’t get it.
Maybe we do need the science centre! #savethesciencecentre Otherwise everyone is just going to turn into morons.
