- Now this is the kind of improvement I've been looking for. Overall a really solid run with pretty decent luck with only minor mistakes at the end of the run. I also finally got a really decent Tyson fight at the end of my PB again!
This run uses the new RNG manipulation tactics to get favorable patterns from Piston Honda 1 and King Hippo (which is why you see me waiting on the fight screens). I also used the new Soda Popinski strategy that requires a knockdown in order to get a consistently fast phase 2, which overall helps with how rough the luck is in this run. These strategies are designed to optimize in-game time, which is summing of each of the individual fight times seen on the blue screens at the end of each fight.

Petition to make Zallard1 the impossible final boss in the next punch out game
Have a secret way that's the only way to beat him, which requires to do a specific counter to Piston Honda to knock off his head band, he gives it to you after fight and then against super secret boss Zallard he wears it as a blindfold and he is still hard as ball just actually beatable with skill and patience.

Does your nes use rf or composite? I see a bit of rainbowing on pixel edges and checkerboard patterns
This is the standard composite signal out of an original NES. You can't get a better signal out of the console than this without modifications sadly.
I played MTPO on my buddy’s RGB modded NES on his crt PVM, it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. You ought to get that gear Zallard, you deserve it.

Awesome job! I’ve beaten this game 100’s of times but can’t figure one thing out. When macho man does his spin punch, how do you know it’s his last punch? I always have to dodge twice after his last punch. Thanks!!!!!!

he can stare at the clock, and when it starts moving, that's the cue to uppercut, or listen in for the last spin punch, which is slightly higher pitched than the rest -summoning salt

Wait, why did your health go down before fighting Sandman?
He did it to manipulate a part of the fight. He got knocked down at a certain time so Sandman would do the Dreamland Express again. This would make the fight go quite a bit faster since he can hit Sandman in the gut 18 times after dodging all 3 uppercuts. He pressed select before the fight to lower his health down, and got hit on purpose so he could lose health.

How did the gut shots on sandman do so much even though you only did 1 and not 3
Delayed punches deal more damage, which is why I do that dodge before each of those single gut punches, since it's perfectly spaced out to where I always deal maximum damage as fast as possible.

If you tap select at the beginning of a fight, your health decreases as opposed to increasing between rounds two and three.
So why exactly was that done? Do you get up faster?
@@jpeg7082 I think it may be just an easter egg to challenge the player, but since this is high level MTPO, it probably has some really technical usage as to manipulate the opponent's actions.

He uses it to go down to beat him faster and he purposely took damage as well.

He did it on purpose to beat the fighters faster.

I’ve fully beaten super punch out and Punch Out (for Wii) but I just can’t beat the original two (Mike Tyson/Mr. Sandman)
It's a tough game, but it's definitely a really rewarding game to beat once you finally get through it
In my opinion, if you can beat the entire punch out game on the Wii, you can beat the nes version of punch out. I’m assuming mike Tyson/mr dream is the one you can’t beat? There’s a few good tricks for beating him.
Tim H oh thanks! I was curious, is there any differences between the mike Tyson and the Mr. Dream? I unfortunately only have access to Mr. Dream, but if they’re basically the same then I’ll go and try to beat that
Personally I don’t find much of a difference between the two. Some people feel like there is a slight difference in timing but I have no problem beating either one. I also use a different strat than most people. If you can beat mr dream, I’m sure you can beat Tyson and the other way around. But I’ve heard some people who can beat Tyson but not mr dream. Personally They are so close to me that I can’t tell a difference. Best of luck! It’s a lot of work but you’ll be on top of the world when you beat him!

hey zallard how did you lose most of your health at the start of soda's fight?
If you press select before the fight begins, it will cut your health in half, which I use to get a consistently fast phase 2.
