- In honor of the 39th Anniversary of Bullwinkle’s, I bring to you my recording of me and SPC Animatronics’ exploration of Boomers (formerly Bullwinkle’s Restaurant) in Medford, New York. This video includes some awesome audio from the Bullwinkle’s Northwoods Animatronic Show! Enjoy!

I worked here for a hot minute and I was so sad those animatronics has been out of commission for years. Always wanted to see them do the show one last time. It used to be so great as a kid.
What year(s) do you work there? Any cool/funny stores or photos from the place?

This is particularly interesting. Probably the coolest abandoned place I’ve seen, and I’d love to explore it myself. Great video :)
I could smell the food seeing those images of the restuarant area. My father used to take me there when I was about 3 or 4. Thanks for sharing this! Awesome! The Island used to have some nice places for kids at the time, namely, Bullwinkles, and who can forget, Sports Plus! Honestly some of this stuff like the Rocky and Bullwinkle figures themselves should be put in one of the Long Island musems. This is the history of our chilhoods in the 1990s. Kids could still see them that way.

Damn, I also used to go here as a kid and have a bunch of pictures inside near the rock climbing wall. This and Sports Plus were the best. I would have loved to walk through once more but this video will do. Great video man.

This is so cool I used to go there all of the time when I was little. How did you get in? Did you buy the anmtronics?
Yes, I purchased the show with SPC Animatronics. This video was taken during a tour so we could scope out the building and have a plan for removal. Do you have any pics from your visits when you were younger?
@@animatronichub sadly no but I passed by just today and all of mt memories came back from going here it was a cool place I went around 2013 so it was already called boomers. But I think it's so cool that you where able to save these anmtronics and get them working again.

at some points the camera movement is a bit too fast..

Do the animatronics get a little quirky at night?
As a Long Island native, I went here as a kid. I remember when the named changed from Bullwinkle's to Boomers, but they still kept the animatronic stage.
It's sad to hear that they let this location go, as I have many fond memories at it. I'm glad to know the Animatronics have been saved, though. The arcade in particular will be sorely missed.
These characters along with the art direction of sets were really well done.
The animatronics are in surprisingly decent condition in spite of the abandonment. I'm shook
The upkeep and maintenance on those animatronics must have been a nightmare for someone, and that someone no doubt drank himself to sleep every night when he finally got home at 2am every morning.
Everything looks to be in pretty good shape for an abandoned pizzeria.
I remember going to Boomers ALL THE TIME as a kid. Being a Long Island boy, coming here was my introduction to Rocky and Bullwinkle, but it wasn’t until I reached my 20s when I became a fan of the duo.
I worked here for a few years. You using the employee entrance brought me back flashbacks from 20 years ago. Crazy to see that place so empty.

Oh man I used to go here as a kid, I had a few birthday parties here too once it became Boomer’s as a preteen. It’s so weird and surreal seeing it abandoned, I had no idea it was still even standing but now I definitely wanna go explore it lol
Do you have any photos or videos from your visits? I wouldn’t recommend exploring as someone commented that when he went on the property alarms were set off. I had permission to be inside as I was purchasing the show.

I really wish somebody would buy out Boomers from their owners but considering this is Long Island it will be bulldozed for "luxury" apartments in luxurious....Medford.

I’m from alberta Canada and I used to have birthday parties at bowinkles as a young child. The place shut down here in the early 90s . I had no idea it was still operating in the states. I was sad when it closed. The cute music character voices were always so so enjoyable.

Didn’t the spinning swing ride tip over in 2000 or 2001? I remember I was going to have my birthday there but we cancelled because of it.
Yes. After the incident, they switched over to the “Boomers” branding. Thankfully this only consisted of a new sign and mascot, pretty much all Bullwinkle’s decor remained.

I watched Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoon as a kid in the 90's~ Didn't know there was a Pizza place associated with it~ 🤷♀️ I still have my Rocky & Bullwinkle game boy game~ 🤣❤

I went here as a kid a lot during the summer months and I remember seeing that sign hanging up near the stage in the main room and the two animatronics scaring the hell out of me {0:36}
This was '06 to '09 so it was Boomers not Bullwinkles.
I remember going there all the time when I was a kid. I remember when I first went there, I was actually afraid of the band because you know as a kid animatronics used to creep me out at first, but as I got a little bit older as a kid, I started going there all the time and I enjoyed the Rocky and Bullwinkle animatronics and I found out they’re not so bad after all, and after enjoying the Bullwinkle animatronic shows I started watching the classic cartoon show of Rocky and Bullwinkle. Including Underdog, Dudley Doo, especially Boris and Natasha, and learned so much about them.
It’s really sad that after all these years the animatronics are gone and that place has been abandoned. But we shouldn’t be sad because it’s over, we should be happy because it happened. Because we can all be very happy that we had a chance to go there and experience it and have fun with the games and enjoy the Rocky and Bullwinkle animatronic shows and ride the rides and go carts…. and we loved that place a lot when it was in business. But most importantly we all still have our memories of it, especially the Rocky and Bullwinkle animatronic shows. So many great times and so many great memories. It won’t be the same without them but it will always be remembered.

Great video! Any information on why the Medford location closed down?
It had been rundown for years, they closed for the season in September 2019 instead of leaving the arcade open (supposed to be open year round). They couldn’t open up in Summer 2020 due to Covid restrictions so they decided to close permanently.

Does anybody remember Kids Kingdom on route 112? it was like a knock off Chuck E. Cheese if anybody has any pictures or video from that place would you mind getting in contact with me? The place is currently called country fair and completely different.
We had a Bullwinkle’s in a neighboring city and I’d be so excited to go there. But this was in the 80’s and ours looked extremely different! It shut down in the 90’s, I think the early 90’s. The place was a treasure, I’m so surprised you guys had one that was opened for so long!

The compressor was broken and the controller had been water damaged due to a leak so there wasn't anything we could do.
This video is so neat! There’s a bullwinkle’s close to where I live, and I went to their mini golf area a couple months ago. I’m curious to go back now and see if the animatronics are still there. It’s so cool that you bought these animatronics to preserve them, they’re a really neat piece of history

I really wish this place could get fixed and refurbished so it could open up back in business; I would kill to visit a place like this again just like I did when I was a really little kid.

Bommers got Rocky and Bullwinkle’s stage but the removal of two stages.
I've been to the location in Upland when I was a kid, and I remember everything clear as day. I was so sad when it got changed to Boomers and even more sad when that location started to look run down and not taken care of as often. Still fun though
Oh nice same! They rebranded back to Bullwinkle’s a while ago, and I went there a couple months ago with my boyfriend to play mini golf. We didn’t see any animatronics, but the indoor mini golf area looks a lot like the location in this video. It looks like they’ve been doing construction there and getting rid of the go-kart and mini golf areas. I hope that doesn’t mean they’re closing the place down
@j-mannostalgia1861 I hope not! I love the go karts and racing everyone. But if they're getting rid of the track and mini golf areas, I'm hoping this means that they're adding new stuff. It's just really sad how that location went from a really cool and fun place to run down, some stuff not working, etc
@@princesskristan I agree, I’d like to see places like this thriving again. I checked their website and it looks like they’re just doing some remodeling and maybe even adding a bowling alley soon, so that’s cool

Well i kinda came for the same reason, except i love everything old and creepy. I also search "abandoned mansions" and things like that and one time i read about a haunted amusement park.

So the reason why I'm watching this is crazy so I got this on my recommendations after I saw a vision of a person in my dreams that looks exactly like that human animatronic character I'm not too sure what their name is, but it's the character on the thumbnail it was exactly him and I got this video in my recommended somehow right after I woke up

I drove past this place seeing it from the LIE and had never heard of it. I had to do some Google earth searching to figure out what this place was even called. All I saw from the road was Frostbite Open All Year Round.

Was there power in the building if so why didn't you try running the animatronics?
Yes there was power. The controller was water damaged so we had no way of starting it.
