You should also mention that on a windscreen, in the Australian sun, your phone is going to heat up like crazy. Couple that with the heat build-up from wireless charging, it might burn you. That said, love my Quad Lock, even though I don't use the wireless charging too much, esp during the day.
Exactly correct!! I was thinking about this for long and thought only happened to me, one of the biggest drawbacks I think!! Definitely should address the issue !! Thanks for pointing out 👌🏽
Now that you have had it for a while I am very interested to hear if you have had any issues with the phone coming off at all (4wding, corrugations etc)? I am about to purchase a set up and thinking the original twist lock will be more secure for offroading, but don't want to be purchasing a new case regularly if it wears out!
Hey mate Indeed I had it for few months now, only got off from the attachment once. Now I have 15k on the car, which is way beyond most peoples mileage. So its safe to say no drams with it. However I am not a 4WD person. At low speed, shouldn’t be a problem at all. However there is a bit of problems that I have to address in a future video. I found wireless charging system, start to heat-up and slow down the phone few times. Do a bit of research about that :)
Wouldn’t be a problem as far I concerned however I need to do a follow up video about this, if you considering wireless charging head, avoid it if possible. Found it little gimmicky with aussie hot weather
I use my mag wireless for work and do not see it as a gimmick asi have to get in and out of my truck with the phone all day, I ruined the charge port on my previous phone and now I just slap it on and rip it off nice and easy.
Hey mate !! Thanks for the input, which part of the world you live in ? Here is Australia its pretty hard to use in summer months to be honest, I find myself removing cable lot more often. Its changing in the morning time, however as soon as ambient temperature hits 24c and sun in-front, charger start to heat up so fast and its nearly useless.
@@campingmates I am in Western Australia. I admit when I was using the old style quad lock mount on the window I never used wireless charging because of heat generation. I have since upgraded to using a Mag wireless adhesive dash mount in the truck with the phone situated covering half the air vent and have not experienced any heat issues even during the recent heatwave. I also use a MAG vent mount in the Hilux but use a cable for charging and using CarPlay. The dash mount and vent mount are excellent because now I can fit the sunshade up without having to remove the windshield mount.
Had to watch 20 videos to find info , and you told me all in one , cheers
Ha ha ha !! Thanks heaps !! And glad I could help !
Excellent review, very thorough and covered everything in a easy to understand video
Glad you enjoyed it!

I wonder can you use that mount on windshields that are almost vertical, ie, a Jeep Wrangler.

I have a mag case, but my partner doesn't. I'm assuming you can't use a normal quadlock case on a mag head?
Yes I don't think so!! Get one for the Christmas 🎄

I use the wireless charging all day even in 40c heat when it’s in front of the vent. I recommend it.
If you're basing any decision around carrying an extra 50g, maybe don't eat that doughnut or drink that coffee that you would previously have.
Completely 2 different things however thanks for the input !!
Umm all I can say is WTFRAK
Sure !! Definitely you can :)
