- It’s everything I loved about the RGB30 but so much better. Android 13, touch screen, comfy as heck, circle dpad?!?!, made by a company with a good reputation of making great handhelds. Hey guys, at 2:54, I misspoke and said 3.5" instead of 3.95". The screen is very close to 4 inches. Sorry about the confusion. Words are hard

i think i found a way to reclaim the space lost when cloning to bigger sd card.
(so can use one sd card setup for os and games, i tried this in rg35xxsp).

If you truly are intro retro gaming, Sega and even Neo Geo are not “obscure” systems by any means. They have been in the news in recent years with the releases of their mini consoles. The Sega mini 2, for instance, was released a little more than a year ago. More than our old age, what missing the significance of Sega means is probably that retro-gaming has become a mainstream entertainment area as opposed to a specialized hobby. And that is both good and bad.
This was a great review. It went very in-depth on the pros and cons of the Cube without being super long and it was nice to see a review from someone who's taken the time to really set up their device. There's a software tweak to remove the anbernic launcher from the RG button but I don't know if it would fix the annoying behavior where it's switching the default launcher around.
I have my RG Cube setup with Gamma's thumbstick fix, ES-DE configured, and the RG button launches ES-DE. I don't use an aftermarket launcher so that hasn't been a problem for me. I do have a little bit of light bleed but nothing noticeable to the naked eye. It doesn't bother me in real world usage.
Minecraft having squares and cubes everywhere fits the screen ratio
Props to you for buying the same colourway as mine man! Great taste in handhelds young lad!!! This RG Cube is a fantastic addition to my collection.
the sad thing about this color is that it will turn into yellow because of the dirt. I talked to anbernic manager about this common problem :/

Excellent video! This colorway looks fantastic, might be the best choice. Apparently Gamma has already fixed the sticks in software. Looking forward to any possible battery and performance boosts that Gamma may unlock down the line.

@@BenjaminFranklin-76 TheGammaSqueeze is a developer who made Gamma OS, custom firmware for Anbernic’s T618 devices that unlocked battery life and performance that had been left on the table. Currently working on the T820 chipset among other things.
Hopefully my limited understanding allowed me a proper response, but someone else chime in if I didn’t explain that correctly.

FIY you can rebind the Anbernic launcher button. I've bound it to launch my preferred frontend, Beacon!
The NES and SNES are 4:3 systems. There's a difference between logical aspect ratio and display aspect ratio. They didn't have square pixels.

Make the decision based on the 4:3 vs 16:9. Which systems do you plan to play? PS1 and earlier, go with Cube. PSP and Android titles + ports RP4

Great video! I'll point out a correction. It's roughly a 4" (3.95") square screen, not 3.5". It's a small mistake, so no worries. The RG Cube looks good, but I have too many handhelds as it is.
Then they changed it since I last looked because I copied and pasted it into my comment. It also has been a month, so anything is possible.
This is its final form though and the fastest SOC with that you really need because of the one by one aspect ratio.

Damn, that lower left Anbernic button really is useless if it cant be changed to anything else. Hopefully GammaOS will sort that problem!

can I ask what emulator you are using to play DS games at the start of the video? I am using DraStic and everything works fine but I want to get rid of the on screen controls and make the top screen bigger than the bottom. any pointers/advice appreciated!
@bensparrow88 Im using drastic its same one you have. You just have to press the button menu button and turn off touch controls. You can also go into the settings a disable them. Also, you can change your layout in settings, too. You should see one that says edit layout and then you want to change it to the size of the next wallpaper. Its difficult to explain. Ill see if I can put together a guide for you

This isnt a flagship handheld. Its more like a midrange. Ayn Odin 2/mini or the Ayaneo Pocket S are closer to what you would call flagships

@leonboy9388 It's understandable. If you want, you can wait for all the early batches to be sold and then purchase one if you're still interested in a couple of months. That's probably safer. I've read LITNXT return policy and it's pretty good. It says they test everything before shipping, but personally, I've never had a defective unit from them, so I dont know for sure. Hope this helps

What's with people using the wrong version of adjectives? It's not "more sharp", it's just sharper. I hear this kind of mistake all the time on social media.

@@JaviPlayRetro that's true. Good rule of thumb is if the adjective is one syllable the comparative is just the -er suffix.
Most of people dont speak english as they first language, so its hard to talk perfectly.

If you had to choose between this or another handheld specifically for Pokémon only (only reason I want it) which would you suggest???

@@JaviPlayRetro probably from Gen 1 till Gen 4 so 3DS but I definitely want the older versions like FireRed and Soul Silver
@JustChill_TV Some of the other handhelds can play ds pokemons but you have be contants switching between screens. If that doesnt bother you. Go with RG40XX or RG35XX H or even Plus if you want something vertical

Please please please, don’t use background music, it makes very difficult to understand you for people with hearing problems.

All sounds good, but would you have still got this if the rg406p was out?
I personally really enjoyed the RGB30 and I really like added perks of a square screen. This is a much better version of that handheld. After playing 3DS & DS emulation I probably wouldn't care to switch over to the RG406P is that was out. To me, that's the biggesting selling point of this handheld because you can't play 3DS or DS well on many of these handhelds.

What system is perfect for N64, Dreamcast and Gamecube?
The rg 405m and 405v are pretty good, perfect screen size and good performance for n64, which is enough to upscale it by 2 times.
