Walter Payton was something. Turn nowhere to run, into 2-3 yards. Turn a 3 yard run into 7 yards. Ran tough. Or with finesse. Could burn you bad if not paying attention. Ran routes like a WR. Guys got tired late in games, while he played like it was the 1st quarter. And McMahon said he was the best pass blocker ever. One of the classiest players in NFL history. McMahon got a lot of flak, sometimes forgotten. But he could find guys open, and threw a pretty spiral. The team wasn't great because of him, but he wasn't trash either.
Bears were looking ahead to the playoffs. Not up for the game or focused. But they sure were focused in their 3 postseason games outscoring their opponents 91-10. 🐻
Wouldn't you know it - under the cover of night the Colts would move out of Baltimore in Mayflower moving vans and relocate to Indianapolis - all because their owner Irsay couldn't secure a new stadium for his team. Pathetic!
He was a slightly below average QB. And even with the best rushing attack in the league for 2,3 years they still couldn't score any points. After he left the Colts he became a clipboard holder for Cleveland for a long time. So nobody else thought he was any good either.
I won't say McMahon was a great QB or anything but almost none of the QBs in Bears history have really been good at winning. He's probably not even top 5 most overrated QBs in Bears history.
Antonio Acevedo he did lead the bears to a Super Bowl win though. He’s a little over rated due to his personality and all that but w.e I’ll take the ring with that any day of the week
@@Tecumseh4-k2z You can argue about his rings, but most people will agree that McMahon never lived up to his potential just like the 85 Bears. That team should have had at least 2 more rings, or even more Super Bowl trips. I'm not angry. Neither McMahon or any sports teams have ever given me anything or help feed me. It's not that big a deal to me.

Thank you for posting classic football games. Watching da 85 Bears is unbelievable to see. 🐻⬇
These HAPLESS Colts showed a lot of heart in this game, they were 21 point underdogs on the road, not too shabby to only lose 17-10.
“The Colts are young but they’re going to get a lot better.”
Yeah, not so much.
The greatest ever don criqui
In the 70s Payton would wear out defenses, when it was 22 guys against him.
Payton went 9 consecutive 100 yard games, watching this he earned every yard, not like the shit arm tackling nfl today....
Hampton is not a hall of fame player but Richard Dent is
17-10. Colts played em tough
Exactly!!
They didn't turn the ball over, and they only allowed 1 sack against a defense that was known for takeaways and sacks
Weather was nice that December day, I remember those playoff games were brutal cold
Lol that ref made a great tackle 15:28
Colts' cornerback Eugene Daniel was a very solid player for them for over a decade.
14:15... Ball was out. Should have been a fumble.
These Colts were actually a few plays away from possibly upsetting these Bears.

Love that ref, i remember him. Holding defence! That's a 10 yard penalty and that's a first down!
I forgot the refs name too. Lol
Defensive holding is 5 yards
Not too hapless - I was getting 28 points from my classmates at Naperville Central - Colts hung tough
Life long Bears Fan . Miss the Baltimore Colts. Bob Irsey still sucks .

Yup. One of the shittiest moves in league history.
Colts had a good running game and LBs but a terrible QB. Mike Pagel .
I thought that with what he was given to work with, old mike pagel did damn good????

The most overrated athlete in Chicago history is Jim McMahon.
I won't say McMahon was a great QB or anything but almost none of the QBs in Bears history have really been good at winning. He's probably not even top 5 most overrated QBs in Bears history.

Antonio Acevedo:
In NFL history? Get real!
Jimmy Mac has a couple rings, and have your anger to live with the rest of your life.

Totally agree
