Ulidavaru Kandante even though it is a recent movie, is a cult classic in Kannada Cinema. A Must watch!... BTW Korbin didn't korbanized the name he was 99% close. Well done Korbin!!! Kudos! I wish you guys get to watch it... you will not be disappointed... The picture is shot mostly in and around Udupi town which is part of Coastal Karnataka... my home town :)...
Note: The tiger/cat characters are part of "Tiger dance" which is very popular traditional form of folk dance in parts of coastal Karnataka.
It wasn't Korbinized. Korbin said it right actually. The movie is just awesome. Director(who is also the lead actor in the movie) is a huge fan of Quentin Tarantino and movies like Pulp fiction and Sin City. Thanks a lot for reacting to the trailer.

And the tiger dance ( not cats) you saw is a very famous tradition of Mangalore (tulunadu) oops sorry my bad he's from Udupi not Mangalore, it's performed during the dassera season . You'll have to watch Mangalore tiger dance you'll love it. During dassera season these tiger dance groups ( in tulu we call them pili wesha) come to our homes and perform their dance they paint their bodies for the whole of dassera and they won't take off at the end of dessara they take off their paints.

That cat dance is actually a local cultural thing..it's called"Pili vesha" or " tiger dance" which is a folk dance unique to costal Karnataka.It is performed during Navaratri and consists of troop of 5-10 young males who are painted and costumed as tigers.These,accompanied by a band of drummers roam around the streets of their town and dance to the beats of the drums😊

About Ulidavaru Kandante.. Its a non linear story structure... Many movies give u 1 perspective at the story... But this gives u 3 or 4 perspectives and an audience can choose.. Whichever is good to him..
Above all, there is a scene, where the secret thing is sent to Marcellus Wallace of Pulp fiction.. Its on script and on scene..
And basically, he wrote the characters based on 5 elements... Was actually told by him.. When i questioned him in a seminar.. Fire, water, air, wind and earth... For example, guy with garland is Richi and u can compare to fire element, he is always angry and furious. Like Scarface.. And Raghu, the guy who stole is an water element.. For example, when Raghu enters on screen, he escapes through sea(water), he meets his uncle near the beach(water), when he visits his mom, rain starts pouring down(water) and he dies in the boat middle of the sea and he is thrown to sea(water), Awesome movie and its his debut direction.. I m making an video essay on it.. When i make it.
And the cartoonist was a tribute to sin city, as it was directed by Tarantino(guest director)
