But in Kerala’s own Trivandrum Medical College, only Hippocrates is credited as he is the Father of Medicine. Why are we, as Indians, so ashamed of our history? Most of us even didn’t know half of the things the video said. There is the concept of airplane or flying in Ramayana - the Pushpakavimana. Talk about it in public in India and the first thing people will do is laugh at you. Be proud of culture and that can only be through learning. Schools in India should bring back the beauty of the culture and history of India and teach kids to be proud of it. In fact, I am starting that at home for my son as I do not think our schools would always remain ‘secular’ and never talk about the rich Indian culture temporarily lost due to invasion
Sorry it turned into a rant 😃

@Kim sung Un I'd rather say that the people of kerala are the only "True Indians" living in India right now coz we are still following secularism throughout the state. India is a secular country as stated by our constitution and the only state which is probably securing that constitutional belief in almost all the people of a single political state of India are the malayalees of kerala.
We aren't anti-Hindu....we'd like to call ourselves "Indian" first n then maybe see which religion or caste we are from n we are still brothers n sisters of this great country........not enemies in the name of religion or caste.
FYI..... During the recent floods, prior to bakrid, hindus cleaned a masjid as well muslims cleaned a temple in kerala.......what more better way in showing respect to one another in terms of religion/caste and also in upholding the pride and beauty of being Indian and also at "BEING HUMAN".

In linguistics, this is called "schwa syncope". So, Rama becomes Ram. Arjuna becomes Arjun. In original Sanskrit, the "-a" is retained in written AS WELL AS spoken communication. Such retention in seen in most South Indian languages, even those not based on Sanskrit, like Tamil.

Claiming credit for something as their "intellectual property" has always been a very western & middle eastern mindset. Ancient Indians always believed that knowledge belongs to the world and should be imparted to others for free, for the benefit of humanity. So many inventions or discoveries were stolen by the west and India has never been credited for.
For instance Pythagoras theorem is actually from India. He spent time near Sindhu River learning the formula.
It first occurs about 800 B.C in India in the Shuba Sutra of Baudhayan. There's the first explicitly written theorem that ways that if you have a right triangle, the square of the length of the hypotenuse is the sum of the square of the length of the two legs.
The entire number system, decimal not just the zero. Which the Arab merchants learned from India and translated and published as their "own invention".. which later the western civilization took.
    Calculus was known as "bejaganitha".
Distance from Earth to the Sun and to the moon was first accurately calculated by Ancient Indians encoded in some of the Sanskrit Mantras.
Too many to list. There is a reason why a lot of German physicists are also Sanskrit scholars. A lot of Quantum mechanics, sounds a lot like the science of the subtle, described in the Upanishads and the Vedas.

    QUOTE:
“The game of chess found its way from India to Europe through the Arabs, perhaps at the time of the
Crusaders. It is first mentioned by the Sanskrit novelist Bana, about A.D. 625: Its Sanskrit name is Chaturanga, the 'four arms' of the Hindu army.

Here are some interesting additions to the list:
    1. Navigation: Infact the word itself comes from the Indian word Navgati. A word used to describe the gati - movement of a Nav - boat.
    2. Catamaran - The two hulled boat was first discovered by westerners in India. Indian boatmen were known to use a another boat or log of wood tied another boat parallel to the hull to give it more stability. When a westerner pointed to a log of wood tied to the side of a boat and asked a South Indian boatman what it was, the man answered Katta Mara ( Cut wood). The westerner thought that was the name for a double hulled boat. Catamaran is the English evolution of those words. This is described in the etymology of the word in English dictionaries by the way.

No, the reason India was conquered was because it had a very poor culture. The resurgence of Hinduism reestablished caste hierarchies, untouchability, women were treated horribly. So when invasions came, Indians offered no united resistance since there were so many different kingdoms.
Thanks to the West that India finally united as a singular political entity under a secular Democratic Federal Republic form of government.
I see too many arrogant Indians - sure be proud of who you are, but don’t forget humility and a sense of gratefulness that we have emerged out of darkness of religions and kings setting forth our laws which made the life of a Brahmin by caste more than a life of a shudra or an untouchable.
These laws of liberty and equality from the west brought enlightenment and freedom to the entire world.

Your soul evolves thru these species until you reach human body. And based on Karma you may restart your evolution journey again. If you have huge inclination to eat meat, the human body of which is unsuitable, nature will gladly put back in an animal body in next life, to better enjoy your desires.

Mysorean rockets were an Indian military weapon, the first iron-cased rockets successfully deployed for military use. The Mysorean army, under Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan, used the rockets effectively against the British East India Company during the 1780s and 1790s.
Tipu Sultan, the "Tiger of Mysore", gave his life while defending his capital Srirangapatna from the British. He is referred to as the father of modern missile technology because he gave a new concept to the world at that time. He developed the first-ever iron-cased rockets in the world which were successfully deployed for military use. They were considered to be the most useful weapons of that time. British officers were shocked and didn't know what had hit them.
Hyder Ali, the de-facto ruler of 18th century Mysore developed the first examples of explosives-filled rockets. Then his son Tipu Sultan planned and made cylindrical iron tubes that would have gunpowder in them and would travel to a greater range of 2 km. Then to provide stability and better accuracy, he fastened them to bamboo poles or swords. The rockets produced were very destructive and the best in the world at that time.

Hi there. Been watching your reaction videos. I would like to talk on 2 things.
One: We Indians known for spreading the knowledge. our ancestors never felt (never mentioned any where in our old scripts) that any knowledge or invention belongs to one person or one region or to one Nation. We are known to spreading good things without expecting anything in return. Ever since the western countries started claiming Patents, we had to step in to the patent race to save our ancient inventions. Neem and Turmeric for example. But lots of damage was already done with many things which suppose to be in the name of India, were falsely claimed by various countries/people as their inventions and uses. People may claim things as their own but history never lie. Our ancestors said "Vasudaika Kutumbam" aka "vasudhaiva kutumbakam"( world is one Family) and we still believe and follow it.
Two: Since you mentioned 'Martial arts', I would also like to add one more India taught thing which is famous world wide. "Kung fu" was taught to Chinese by an Indian(South Indian)(BodhiDharma is his name). Chinese may not ready to accept the fact but like I said above, History never Lie.

For centuries, Indians didn't care about getting credit but just helping others. Either surgeries or Yoga or herbal medicine or even fabric. Even for USB, the credit was given to the team but not the person. I can't say about current state of India, but until few decades ago, Indians care about getting the knowledge out to the world rather then keeping it in safe and saying it 'Intellectual property'

One of oldest and widely popular dyes was first made in India. The color is still called Indigo - after India. Indigo was widely exported all around the ancient world. The Chinese used the die to make wonderful patterns on their vases during the Ming Dynasty and before. The western world cherished these highly prized Indigo painted vases. But not many know that the Indigo color and the oldest pottery to be painted with the Dye were Indian.
