From the opening shots, I was convinced the video title would refer to "don't make the mistake of arriving late, missing out on limited layby spaces, and being forced to run the gauntlet of the Lagangarabh parking minefield". Great video overall and one of the clearest route descriptions/depictions I've seen for Curved Ridge. Thank you for also highlighting the parking problems - the section immediately off the main road really is desperate.
First lead I ever done was on the Chasm in slightly moist conditions. Now the only time I see the Buachaille is from the air. This inspired me to get boots back on the ground on it! Thank you Murray.
That was awesome guys, I never get tired of watching climbers doing Stob Dearg as it's such a fantastic mountain and so many fantastic routes up it. Thanks again.
Gerry gainging a bit of a spring in his step with his new yellow trousers. Murray, still not jealous of all your amazing adventures, thanks for another great video, helps a lot!
Years of watching ur videos and I bumped into you on this exact mountain a year or 2 ago! These videos are superb and deserve more credit, they r edited brilliantly
The filming is always so well done and clear You both have so much energy..must be the Scotch eggs and pork pies…maybe the yellow pants A beautiful day for a climb with a friend! Take care 🇨🇦❤️
Murray & Gerry, what a team! Love watching you two guys. Always having so much fun together 😅. Love the team yellow trousers 🎉. Thanks for another entertaining film. Looking forward to the next one 😀 👌🥳
Buachaille Etive Mor is indeed one of Scotland's finest mountains! Your experience with Curved Ridge and the unintentional detour to D Gully Buttress looks both challenging and educational. It's great to see you tackling the tougher route with determination. Your video is a great guide for others to avoid this common error and enjoy a fine day on the mountain. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Enjoyed this one.Scenery brilliant but what made this for me was Gerry and the yellow trousers which you seemed to be fixated on. The banter between you is just so funny. Have the pair of you ever considered going on the stage as a double act. ATB to both of you.😅
Bananas in pyjamas with them yellow trousers lol nice one, looks like an incredible climb, though can see it could turn sketchy quite quickly if you didn't know what you were doing
Great video yet again on a fantastic mountain, nice to see it from a route beyond my capabilities. We did it the relatively easy way up the big atmospheric gully with cloud pouring over the ridge, I'd told the boss we'd just have a look for the route up and do it on a better day. The view across Rannoch was superb and the cloud seemed to be pouring like liquid over the mountain ridges. Thanks for bringing that memory back and keep up the great work 👍.
I must admit to scrambling up the wrong ridge/buttress. I realised when passing a 'moac' jammed in a crack on a steep face that I wasnt on curved ridge! Escaped up to the left somewhere, lived to tell the tale.
YellaTrous!!!! That gave me a chuckle. Gerry sure likes to give you the mickey, doesn’t he? Frankly, yours are brighter and nicer, hopefully, Gerry will get a few miles under his and earn the right to wear them with pride. Cheers, and ATB!
Murray - nice video, even if I prefer neutral clothing colours :-). This is from my father's diary: 'Easter Day April 6th 1969 (I was 9 years old): We decided on Buchaille Etive Mor by Curved Ridge; two ropes with 3 people. Actually we did D Gully Buttress, but without undue difficulty on another beautiful sunny day - avoiding the v. diff pitch. However we were later on the summit than anticipated and Peter was very tired on the descent, the mothers getting a bit anxious and meeting us at Allt. na. Feadh.' I've never been back, but I hope to climb Curved Ridge sometime in the future, while I am still able. I don't really fancy trying D gully buttress again - my recollection to this day is that 'without undue difficulty' was quite an understatement.
My first ever attempt of curved ridge and we went up d gully buttress by mistake too - very easy to do ! Ps what a lovely thing to be able to look back on ie your dads climbing diary 👍👍
Another good day out but the rope and jangly metalwork out once again. Not for me. Climbed this hill 3 times I think but took the tourist path. Nice to see the hill from a different angle. Great footage as usual.
The yellow breeks brigade, and Gerry telling you you need to up your game, y'all's banter is killing me.😂What an absolutely gorgeous day, and no midges, I mean what?! The views, wow! My husband and I do a lot of intense hiking, and have in various places - Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska. We'd love to tackle both solo'ing and aid climbing next - in 2025 it'll be Scotland and New Zealand. BTW, got an extra scotch egg or pork pie around? Fantastic vid Murray, thanks so much. Oh! And thank you for the heads up about the parking situation, and what type of vehicle is recommended 👋
The mountain is awesome, the experience is great, but it's always important ( if accompanied) to have banter....😂. As for yellow. I went for the red, enough said 😂. Saw a mountain rescue film years back and the guy that fell into a gully laid there for 5 days with two broken legs actually in line of sight from the rescue operations centre. But he was in green and black........ Since watching that. I always go ott with colour 😂
Murray & Gerry, the Yellow Perils 🤣 whatever next, Gerry agreeing Scots eggs beat pork pies 🤣 Anyway fab video as always and as always a joy to watch. Take care and ATB
Yellow Trousers lads. I've had Yellow Haglof trousers for several years albeit Gerrys have nice leg zips. I've also got the Paramo lightweight windproof but with blue piping not Yellow .Now that IS a game changer. Sorry Murray you need to get one of those. Gilet and windproof Paramo is the perfect combination. Did a local 800m hill last Saturday. Had 2 Scotch eggs and thought of you. The 3 dogs got one half.😂
What a great climb. Gerry in yellow trousers, next thing he will want is yellow pork pies to match your scotch eggs lol. You both made that so easy. Fantastic view's from the top. Catch you on the next one mate. Stay safe. Atb Tim
@@ScotlandsMountains Hi Murray, I have sent you a message on Instagram and i don't know if you have read it yet. It would be appreciated if you could. Cheers, Tim
If you cross curved ridge into the next gully and go up Agag's Groove it's one of the most spectacular situations in the highlands and not too difficult. Very exposed but the views are amazing on this old classic...
Didn’t realise yella breeks would improve performance. Will need to add to the list. Irn Bru jelly babies ✅ Scotch egg/pork pie 🥴✅ Yella breeks (need to sort 🤣)
So the mistake was to wear yellow breekson the hill. The bugs and midges love a good yellow. I once had a yellow paraglider and the times i landed out when there was no breeze were a 'mare. Some manufacturers of tent inners recognised this and stopped using yellow. Jerrys slightly better dressed as it is the pure yellow apparently that is the worst. Tip for all your viewers - Stay away from people with yellow breeks.. They may make you more visible to SAR but youll probably have been eaten alive by the time they get to you.😆🤣 P.S.I think orange would suit you better.
Just can't get tired of that view over Rannoch moor
😅😅 yellow trousers banter is the best. I love this mountain... was the best walk/climb I ever done.
Finally, team Stay Classy have team colours. Great to see a different route up the hill.
Another cracking video Murray - yellow trooser banter at its best!
Very entertaining Murray, as always. There is always great banter between you guys. Looked like an awesome day!!
Cheers
James.
The Intl Space Station can spot you two on the rocks, now; that was the idea, wasn't it? Great climb, thanks for taking us along.

Those points are all correct too !

That was nice to see Gerry with you too (also in yellow trousers).
Well done on the climb. Spectacular views.

Beautiful mountain. Is there an easier route up to the summit for a relative novice?
Thanks for sharing.

Alright.
I have made up my mind on my hiking trouser colour now.
Murray, you don't follow the mountain fashion trends, you set them! 🙂lol
😳😆

Heyup Muzza 😊💥.
Do hope yer good 🫡. Best wishes to yer n yours 😊
👍👍
I love yellow trousers! I think lime green are my favourite though.
Like the lime green options too 👌👍
Where have they yellow trews been all your life Gerry?
On Murrays washing line probably. 😂
War of the troosers 😉 A fine way up the Buachaille chaps. 👍🏻
Nice video. Were you recording with an insta360 x4 camera? If so, did you attach the camera to your backpack?
Can you tell me what that yellow and black Paramo top is that Jerry is wearing? Oh, and what are those yellow trousers? Many thanks in advance.
Didn’t realise yella breeks would improve performance. Will need to add to the list.
Irn Bru jelly babies ✅
Scotch egg/pork pie 🥴✅
Yella breeks (need to sort 🤣)
They raise your grade by 150% guaranteed😂😂👍
Ha! I made that very mistake 35 years ago. Escaped by crossing D gulley to get back on to Curved Ridge. Not recommended!
I did exactly the same the first time I attempted curved ridge !
Did you keep the receipt? 😂😂😂
What make are the breeks? We all want some!
Orange

And the irony is that Buachaille Etive Mor is not even Glencoe. But then the afficianado know that.... Bill
One pork pie beats two scotch eggs any day of the week .
Never !! 😂
I hope you and Jerry are not celebrating Pride month in your yellow trousers, or I'm unsubscribing hahaha!
Gerry could have done with a size bigger, nearly as tight as his blue leggings 🤪
Gerry looks like Bruce Lee in Game of Death
