    To the ppl saying he doesn't need a carbon bike because it's a small weight saving compared to his weight. When u pedal you move the bike left to right. It's a lot easier to pedal uphill in a lightweight frame because of it even if you are heavy. Imagine rowing a boat with a lead oar vs a wooden one.

  • @louisphilippe2076
    @louisphilippe2076 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can't read the brand on the bike and I even don't wanna know the brand of the wheels.
    All I know, it's that a lot of bike firms appeared in the industry last 2 decades selling rebadged cheap stuff from China for making money - especially in the US.
    In France, we don't have that, all we have is 2 historical infamous wheel brands that were building wheels before carbon era and developped their own processes of carbon wheels fabrication.
    And plus another one which had been absorbed by one of the American giant of the industry; I think it can tell from itself about the quality of their products.
    And we also have a bunch of craft wheelbuilders mounting wheels by hand spoke by spoke with fine stuff (even if chinese, especially for the rims I mean), truing and balancing the wheels perfectly, that makes craft wheels more reliable and performant that all stock wheels, as anyone that has tested a set of handcrafted wheels can tell.
    So, basically, we know what a good wheel is and what a shitty and dangerous wheel is.
    I think exploding carbon wheels era is behind us, even if the rear C50 Dura-Ace of Wout Van Aert did on the Tranchée d'Arenberg on the 2022 Paris-Roubaix, but it's a special case, if you don't know, riding the Tranchée d'Arenberg is not cycling, it's hell for riders, your bike and your wheels too. Stuff that can survive over there can survive anything.
    Moreover, speaking rim and wheels resistance, I have a pair of second hand Roval CLX 64, I'm 210 lbs, I hit a car on road in Paris at the rear at appr. 13-14 mph, the car stopped suddenly for a hidden pedestrian crossing, too fast, too close, can't brake enough...
    Whatever... I hit with frontal shock. Hard enough to jump over the bar, bump and damage the rear of the little white Audi A1 with my left massive thigh and turn the rear window into pieces of nothing with my hands.
    E=mC(2) Do the maths.
    100 kg of man and bike. 20-25 km/h.
    Damaged car, cyclist intact except light cuttings on hands and aero-fashioned leather gloves, and bike and WHEELS intact. Nothing. ZERO damage. Only bar turned out of axe. Which has been solved in a glimpse.
    The idea is not to brag for myself as I'm very ashamed of having destroyed a car, but these wheels are kind of very resistant, I can tell.
    Proofed on the field.
