I'm more afraid of not having a dash or any cover available when showdowning with Tone. If there's a dash, I usually get within intimate range of her and lay on the trigger.
My main issue is that I suck in a Legion. As a Tone, I typically destroy most titans other than a really good Ion, or if a Ronin sneaks up on me, as long as it's a 1 v 1 scenario. Ions that time their vortex shields perfectly make me want to kick a puppy.

Got him at g5,what i most love about him is how wholesome he is. He says "glad you are back pilot,we are better together" sometimes when embarking. And when ejecting for auto destruction he leaves messages like "be safe" or stuff like that.
Legion Prime he’s still alive, somewhere, he contacts the helmet and when translated into binary, you get “JACK?” so I think he’s somewhere, plus he uploaded his data to your link and helmet if you read the log during the walk to the ark injector
The greatest message i got from Ronin is "avenge me" when i eject and he auto destructs, it gets me hyped up like i really lost a friend on the field so i really am seeking revenge for him then 😂😂
Legion's close range power shot works the same way the EVA-8 does. If you didn't already know, it checks a cone in front of you for targets, and if any are present, it deals guaranteed damage to them, provided it can hit them with a raycast.
coming from a guy who got stoic black months ago with legion I can say that although legion is big and heavy, a successful flank will win a match of lts easily. Even if theyre waiting for you, you can prespin up your close range powershot and dash around the corner with your shield up and if you catch a few of them with the shot its basically a free core and your sheer damage output, even if you get destroyed, will completely ruin the enemy team's chances of a victory. In all modes its incredibly easy to prespin your power shot and dash out with bulwark already up. you can burst out two power shots and nearly a whole mag while moving back into cover and take practically no retaliatory damage. In addition to having taken off at least 1/3 of your opponent's health for practically none of your own, you'll have your smart core, or at least be well on your way to it, so the next time you decide to peak out you'll be really packing heat and whoever is on the receiving end is most likely turning tail or getting punished because nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to put their titan into a lane against smart core. Another thing to note is that close range power shot does full damage to anything within its aoe, so anything, no matter how many bullets they get hit by, will take the full force of the shot which means you can hit an entire enemy team of titans with the same powershot and they'll all take full damage.
Matthew Cohen I always feel the close range shot is really powerfull and I think it is a good thing. legion is the only Titan that requires you to stay with LOS of your enemy for extended periods to deal an significant amount of damage. tone ususaly can hit you 2 times, sonar the third and corner a rocket salvo for some absurd damage. ion just have to hit a laser shot when peeking. Northstar just need to dash in, shoot, dash out. ronin can either ark wave, or unload his shotgun and phase dash out. scortch's primary does high single shot damage, and you can ignite the enemy's ground for some nice damage while in cover. legion's problem is that you have a spinup time for everything. including the charged shot. one bug I hate is that sometimes the charging animation of the PredC will play 2 times. this is very anoying and completly messes up timing. at least when you get close you can send the enemy team a warm welcome gift made out of bullets.
I'm rocking the Thug Life on my Legion. Best Titan. There's something about shooting all the bullets without stopping that just fills me with warm feelings. Also, I don't know if you know this but pressing the fire button while Power Shot is starting up the charge animation will make the charge animation play twice. I thought it was lag at first until I accidentally did it in the campaign.
It also happens nearly everytime you do a Powershot from active Core. You hold LMB, release it, click Powershot, then accidentally hold LMB again it launches the animation second time, wasting your time, and sometimes, your life in LTS.
I bet you could use this in a situation like if an Ion puts their vortex shield up when you're charging it up, do the glitch an maybe they'll put it down. Imma try it.
I can see the double animation having niche benefits against vortex/thermal shields but if a Ronin is in your face and the double charge activates you are FUCKED.
Takeda Ronins get countered hard, they can hold Block all they want but good luck blocking a whole Smart Core, it still practically kills them and remember, powershot exists as a literal close range instant *oh look, where has a bar of your health gone*

BT was designed to be a main character in the Campaign. He interacts with the player, carrying on full conversations and interacting in a clearly sentient manner. Though it is never mentioned in the Campaign, BT is *clearly* different from other titans with a more advanced AI than others. The Titans in multiplayer are just voices that say generic lines like "Engaging enemy titan" or "Health low, recommend using [insert titan weapon]. They have literally no personality and interactions between them and the pilot in almost nonexistent. Just because it talks with a human voice, that doesn't mean it's human. I mean are you this attached to the navigation system in your car? Or Siri on your phone? Because fundamentally these two comparisons are identical.

I watched your Ronin guide yesterday, after finally deciding to try something other than Tone.. To my surprise it was interesting being able to phase in and just slice someone that quickly, it was surprisingly fun! I also managed to get 3 Titan EXECUTIONS in a single match. I also took up your Phase Shift kit idea instead of camping A wall, and I find myself getting out of trouble much more easier and escaping from bad movement plays. Im still not the best at it and need to learn that it is not "instant" so I should pop it when Im going to be in trouble rather than in trouble already. Thanks for the Legion guide on this Ive always struggled with it but really want to learn the class and play something else that isnt a moving artillery.

@@blakecacini8016 I hate and refuse to use the lstar not because it's concidered *bad* it's because I always die to it and I'm not a bad player either I am fully attuned with the movement mechanics and on average get between 28 to 35 kills a game but when I get shot by a lstar I just lose all brain function and just get salty for no reason to this day I still hate lstar mains and will switch to tone if I encounter one just to piss them off my own sort of petty grudge I guess
As a Legion main (G7), I'd say the easiest match-ups for me are against Ronin, Scorch, and BAD Tones. Since Legion dominates at close range, Ronin and Scorch can't compete. BAD Tones are bad at crits and always fire their rockets and cores straight, so it's pretty easy to block and gun through their particle wall to get the kill. If you can flank a Northstar or enemy Legion those are also easy kills. I don't see GOOD Tone players a lot (I'm on console), so I can't comment on that, but based on my experiences, Tones generally aren't too hard to deal with. My biggest fears are Ions and GOOD Northstars. GOOD Northstars will pick you apart at long range and by the time you get close enough to have any real chance (if you ever get close enough without getting trapped and kited to death), you're probably doomed. You can try to peek out in long range mode with a gun shield, but they just dash out of the way of your bullets and snipe you in the foot. Ions are the worst, though. Vortex shield counters pretty much everything Legion can do, and it can last SO LONG. Couple that with the fact that you can't brute force your way through it like a Tone wall and it's a nightmare. An unexpected Ion core is also just a death sentence most of the time, unless you can dash behind cover. Idk, those are my thoughts. I agree with most of the other stuff though. The ideal way to run a Legion build is definitely taking the dash and the kit with the extra power shot. Flanking someone with 2 shotgun power shots makes it way to easy to 100-to-0 an enemy titan.

Holy crap, I NEVER knew about that ammo consumption thing with the different modes! No wonder I was running out of ammo too much! Straight after watching this I went and tested out a match on Legion. I lost him ONCE, and that was after about 3/4 of the match. Now I know how to use the powershots and about the ammo useage, things just feel much smoother. Stayed in 'close' mode nearly all the time, and did way more good with it. Thanks a bunch, you rock! :)
+FrothyOmen Um, Frothy, I hate to say you missed something, but you sadly forgot to mention that you can crouch with Gun Shield and how useful this can be, since it covers your legs much more. Sorry if this comes off as rude, just trying to help.
A well played Ronin is the best against everybody except Scorch, and sometimes even Northstar (since her shots can still do a shit ton of damage even through sword block, effectively making you just as defenseless as she is :P)
Antonia A even scorches will have trouble if you are in a relatively open environment. But I have to agree that in tight corridors (like in Complex) Scorch is king. Northstar can easily defeat a Eonin given that she can maintain the range. Once a Ronin closes in on her she's probably as good as dead.

I like that dash a lot, but I prefer overcore. Having a permanent 70% core charge instead of 100% is just amazing for him. Takes almost nothing to fully charge for unlimited ammo aimbot. As for perks I use lightweight alloys the most for a multitude of reasons. I also really love Bulwark and Hidden Compartment, but I don't use them as often. This Titan is so slow it really is crucial you have good positioning, and with lightweight that makes it so much easier and reliable to adjust positioning. Also, legion kicks tone ass off you have them within cqb mode idk what you talking about. Pop bulwark when his missile barrage starts so you aren't wasting the shield on pellets, tear that wall down with the predator cannon, then burst his ass with the shotgun and finish him off while he's running away. Also I wouldn't recommend you ALWAYS use the shotgun on cool down. If you know a Ronin or Scorch is nearby, use it for them to keep them at bay.
Playing on PS4 I don't think I've ever met a Tone that had the accuracy or composure to get those locks through splashdamage. Hopefully they won't see this and learn something, I really love grinding them down.
I really like watching these. It gives me such a good idea on how to play the titans and stuff and shows me some tricks. I happen to be one of the people that say Legion is good against Tone, but not the best. I actually have a lot of good luck with Northstar against tone cause you can be so much farther away. And when I played Tone I could never deal with Ronin.
Any idea why sometimes power shot acts wonky if you hold down mouse one while shooting? Like, I feel like powershot takes longer to shoot if I hold mouse 1 while it charges up and sometimes it doesn't shoot at all.
I think it's just a weird animation bug when trying to fire powershot without the predator cannon spun up already. Not sure on whether there's a timing difference or not, didn't really think it was important to cover a bug in this video.
FrothyOmen i am 99% sure this is not a bug but intentional design that I have actually used to my advantage. If you use power shot, and then hit trigger for your primary fire before the power shot is out, it will delay the power shot, and it can be used as an advanced tactic say when a ronin phase dashes to stall the power shot and still hit them after they exit. This is my experience on PS4 as a G20 legion.
It's a bug (I know I'm two months late). It's been existent for a long time now and really hinders Legion since it gives Ion's extra time to pull up their shield and take the power shot. It's kind of frustrating.
i was confused for a second when you said tone was a bigger problem for legion than ion but i realized im mostly fighting tones that still think she is op so they dont expect me to rush them. overall i think this guide perfectly highlights the best ways to handle legion. i would have liked to get a mention of how powershot behaves during smart core since ive heard conflicting information between tracking and not tracking.
The joy of successfully hard carrying a team back into a chance of victory with Over Core and Sensory Array is one of the best experiences I have had on the frontier. So much unavoidable damage, so many failed enemy fleeing attempts, too many ks from my team. It felt like I was a god of precision
So I don't know if this glitch is on pc or ps4 or if anyone else even experiences it but, I play on Xbox one and 50% of the time when I hit the power shot button the predator cannon will charge up but then suddenly it begins the charge up process again then fires. This is especially annoying when I dash around a corner hit the power shot while looking at an ion they realize me and because the charge up is twice as long they have enough time to throw up their vortex shield which then helps them build their core even faster so they can nuke me. I know that this doesn't always happen but it happens enough to lose me my Titan sometimes.
Thats because you have to have the gun spun up before shooting. If you just activate power shot before spinning up it will do that everytime. I know what you r talking about
Erdi Zajmi I believe this happens if you try to hit your primary fire button before the power shot is out and the predator cannon is not spun up. Meaning if you were already shooting and hit power shot, there will be no delay if you had kept the trigger down. However if you go for a raw power shot then hit the trigger, it will delay the animation. This can be used to your advantage against a phase dashing ronin...
As an Ion only player, I can only recall two deaths to Legion. Seriously if you are legion and see Ion just run. All it takes is five bullets to splash you on the feet and doom you instantly. I know it's scummy but it is what it is. Nothing sillier than having a legion shoot at my ion shield and then i doom him and his buddy with the splash.
Deliverygirl That cheap exploit is being patched next update. And no I will not run from petty Ions. I just wait until the shield turns a slight pinkish red because they think they gunna catch these bullets then I ramp up the power shot when the shield is down for 2 seconds. and I then I do it again thanks to Hidden Compartment. Ima Gen 45 Legion so I'm talking just from experience.

Something a bit helpful to add. If you have gunshield up then reload you can do other things such as sprint (have to check melee) till the reload is over.
I play heavy in Team Fortress 2 so when I transferred over to this game and saw Legion, I absolutely fell in love, played a few matches, and spent all my credits getting hidden compartment and warp fall (because crushing other titans with yours is fucking hilarious) and ever since, I've only been using hidden compartment end extra electric smoke, cause when I'm not playing Scorch with the immunity to his own thermite, it is hard for me to get pilots off, and I can handle most other titans fine. However, learning what is (supposed) to be the specifics for his damage is going to improve my titan v titan combat significantly, and for that, I thank you sir.
before i watch this video im going to guess one of the load-outs is the sensor array + core booster if not im sad. that things OP. get ur core real fast then 8 seconds of infini ammo and aimbot to melt shit with.
wow fucking mind blowing.... I am a gen fucking 15 legion and I never ever had a fucking tone splash me down...... Fucking a goes to show how awful they are. In all my hours playing legion all the tones I have fought shot straight at my shields as I crab walked through them. Or I sniped them repeatedly using power shot.
Hey some tips to new legion players: 1. long range bullets glow red and close range one don't keep this in mind as a legion tries to hide all of his abilities except the shield. Also your core makes a loud dubstep noise which other titans can hear and makes you have yellow lightning bolts come off you. 2. power shot first, most noobs only put up their defences after taking a hit so be sure to hit em hard and early. 3. the one clip if you hit two power shots and enough close range shot you will be able to kill an enemy Northstar at least without reloading. This ever works on flight core north stars as well so long as you have the gunshield.
A strategy of mine that utilizes the wind up time of the powershot for dodging...kind of,the vortex shield.I call it the swing.You basically turn your back to the Ion,start the powershot and then face the ion at the last moment possible just as the shot is about to be fired.This has proved quite useful for me on some occasions as a last resort.
One good thing to know about Legion is that the close-ranged charge shot knocks back titans, this is especially handy with dealing with Ronin who try to rush you and take advantage of your slow movement. Of course, this is only better when you have hidden compartment.
As a Nuke Legion myself I have to say that for most close range Legions a dash to the front followed by a nuclear ejection is a great way to force the enemies to scramble. If your backing up allies your titans death would be heaven for them, to go around and pick off the scrambled titans, or provide a push on your side to force them into a retreating stance rather than a defensive or offensive stance. But that only works if your close range. Oh and for the record I have been salvo cored onto my bulwark shield many times before... The Tone always died.
The dash is good on Legion definitely. I play him as a walking wall of death. I put overcore on him with sensor array plus the backup battery boost. Instantly have a half charged smart core.
Finally someone who thinks the Tone match-up is super in the Tone's favor. One more thing about that match up is, Tone can drop two walls compared to your one gun-shield
As a legion main (G11.4) I do use bulwark a lot on Legion. If you use legion to take on in a 1 v 3 Titan fight it gives be just a little extra time to shoot blindly without having to worry about positioning.
If you are prioritizing killing an enemy Titan, simply crouch when using your shield. Getting your shield to cover most of your body is key. One time I was in a 1 v 5 against titans (however this was attrition) and crouching when using my shield helped keep so much health on me that I won, of course some titans had lower than full health (60-100%) and some where focused on other things but in the end when ever you plan on focusing on a group of titans or a single crouch
His close range power shot puts the 16 rounds into the targets inside of the reticle, that’s why it hits consistently. The explanation is that legion is using his smart aiming capabilities to plot out the paths like the smart pistol, at least that’s how I’ve always explained it
at 2:28 is where a legion was shooting at me through that wall twice in last titan standing, and he was in a group or party. the dudes team was a legion, tone, scorch, and rest were like ronin.
I am a Legion Main. My Legion is g16( I get about 7 titans every ctf or attrition) Sometimes all you should do in a close 1v1 is to shoot and while shooting pressing L1(gun shield) and R1(power shot) as fast as you can as long as you are shooting.
Legion main here, I’m only G3 Legion myself but I know my way around combat now (although not perfectly, that’s why i’m here xd), and I’ve come to find Legion can be very situational. If you’re in an open / semi open map, Legion dominates. Cutting out enemies ability to hide creates an event in which your opponent cannot and will not survive, no matter the titan. However, maps that are closed off and are full of cover spots create a difficulty for Legion, if you plan to use it you need to ensure you know how to counter those who hide constantly.
I almost always play as legion, and in an lts game, I got paired up against an ion who was fairly good at reading when I was about to shoot, then bringing up the vortex shield and taking out two bars of health. At one point, I caught him in close range, and caught him off guard by frequently meleeing (pretend that's a word) him, then hitting him with a power shot when he caught on to what I was doing. I ended up taking him out with very little damage received.
In the map eden I use legion just like you would use a north star to lock down long sight lines so my teammates tone can push up and drop p-wall. Once they're up I move up, rinse and repeat until they are dead!

coming from a guy who got stoic black months ago with legion I can say that although legion is big and heavy, a successful flank will win a match of lts easily. Even if theyre waiting for you, you can prespin up your close range powershot and dash around the corner with your shield up and if you catch a few of them with the shot its basically a free core and your sheer damage output, even if you get destroyed, will completely ruin the enemy team's chances of a victory. In all modes its incredibly easy to prespin your power shot and dash out with bulwark already up. you can burst out two power shots and nearly a whole mag while moving back into cover and take practically no retaliatory damage. In addition to having taken off at least 1/3 of your opponent's health for practically none of your own, you'll have your smart core, or at least be well on your way to it, so the next time you decide to peak out you'll be really packing heat and whoever is on the receiving end is most likely turning tail or getting punished because nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to put their titan into a lane against smart core. Another thing to note is that close range power shot does full damage to anything within its aoe, so anything, no matter how many bullets they get hit by, will take the full force of the shot which means you can hit an entire enemy team of titans with the same powershot and they'll all take full damage.
Matthew Cohen I always feel the close range shot is really powerfull and I think it is a good thing. legion is the only Titan that requires you to stay with LOS of your enemy for extended periods to deal an significant amount of damage. tone ususaly can hit you 2 times, sonar the third and corner a rocket salvo for some absurd damage. ion just have to hit a laser shot when peeking. Northstar just need to dash in, shoot, dash out. ronin can either ark wave, or unload his shotgun and phase dash out. scortch's primary does high single shot damage, and you can ignite the enemy's ground for some nice damage while in cover. legion's problem is that you have a spinup time for everything. including the charged shot. one bug I hate is that sometimes the charging animation of the PredC will play 2 times. this is very anoying and completly messes up timing. at least when you get close you can send the enemy team a warm welcome gift made out of bullets.
I'm rocking the Thug Life on my Legion. Best Titan. There's something about shooting all the bullets without stopping that just fills me with warm feelings.
Also, I don't know if you know this but pressing the fire button while Power Shot is starting up the charge animation will make the charge animation play twice. I thought it was lag at first until I accidentally did it in the campaign.
It also happens nearly everytime you do a Powershot from active Core. You hold LMB, release it, click Powershot, then accidentally hold LMB again it launches the animation second time, wasting your time, and sometimes, your life in LTS.
I bet you could use this in a situation like if an Ion puts their vortex shield up when you're charging it up, do the glitch an maybe they'll put it down. Imma try it.
I can see the double animation having niche benefits against vortex/thermal shields but if a Ronin is in your face and the double charge activates you are FUCKED.
Takeda Ronins get countered hard, they can hold Block all they want but good luck blocking a whole Smart Core, it still practically kills them and remember, powershot exists as a literal close range instant *oh look, where has a bar of your health gone*

BT was designed to be a main character in the Campaign. He interacts with the player, carrying on full conversations and interacting in a clearly sentient manner. Though it is never mentioned in the Campaign, BT is *clearly* different from other titans with a more advanced AI than others. The Titans in multiplayer are just voices that say generic lines like "Engaging enemy titan" or "Health low, recommend using [insert titan weapon]. They have literally no personality and interactions between them and the pilot in almost nonexistent. Just because it talks with a human voice, that doesn't mean it's human. I mean are you this attached to the navigation system in your car? Or Siri on your phone? Because fundamentally these two comparisons are identical.

I watched your Ronin guide yesterday, after finally deciding to try something other than Tone.. To my surprise it was interesting being able to phase in and just slice someone that quickly, it was surprisingly fun! I also managed to get 3 Titan EXECUTIONS in a single match.
I also took up your Phase Shift kit idea instead of camping A wall, and I find myself getting out of trouble much more easier and escaping from bad movement plays. Im still not the best at it and need to learn that it is not "instant" so I should pop it when Im going to be in trouble rather than in trouble already.
Thanks for the Legion guide on this Ive always struggled with it but really want to learn the class and play something else that isnt a moving artillery.

@@blakecacini8016 I hate and refuse to use the lstar not because it's concidered *bad* it's because I always die to it and I'm not a bad player either I am fully attuned with the movement mechanics and on average get between 28 to 35 kills a game but when I get shot by a lstar I just lose all brain function and just get salty for no reason to this day I still hate lstar mains and will switch to tone if I encounter one just to piss them off my own sort of petty grudge I guess

As a Legion main (G7), I'd say the easiest match-ups for me are against Ronin, Scorch, and BAD Tones. Since Legion dominates at close range, Ronin and Scorch can't compete. BAD Tones are bad at crits and always fire their rockets and cores straight, so it's pretty easy to block and gun through their particle wall to get the kill. If you can flank a Northstar or enemy Legion those are also easy kills. I don't see GOOD Tone players a lot (I'm on console), so I can't comment on that, but based on my experiences, Tones generally aren't too hard to deal with.
My biggest fears are Ions and GOOD Northstars. GOOD Northstars will pick you apart at long range and by the time you get close enough to have any real chance (if you ever get close enough without getting trapped and kited to death), you're probably doomed. You can try to peek out in long range mode with a gun shield, but they just dash out of the way of your bullets and snipe you in the foot. Ions are the worst, though. Vortex shield counters pretty much everything Legion can do, and it can last SO LONG. Couple that with the fact that you can't brute force your way through it like a Tone wall and it's a nightmare. An unexpected Ion core is also just a death sentence most of the time, unless you can dash behind cover. Idk, those are my thoughts.
I agree with most of the other stuff though. The ideal way to run a Legion build is definitely taking the dash and the kit with the extra power shot. Flanking someone with 2 shotgun power shots makes it way to easy to 100-to-0 an enemy titan.

Straight after watching this I went and tested out a match on Legion. I lost him ONCE, and that was after about 3/4 of the match. Now I know how to use the powershots and about the ammo useage, things just feel much smoother. Stayed in 'close' mode nearly all the time, and did way more good with it.

Antonia A even scorches will have trouble if you are in a relatively open environment. But I have to agree that in tight corridors (like in Complex) Scorch is king. Northstar can easily defeat a Eonin given that she can maintain the range. Once a Ronin closes in on her she's probably as good as dead.

I like that dash a lot, but I prefer overcore. Having a permanent 70% core charge instead of 100% is just amazing for him. Takes almost nothing to fully charge for unlimited ammo aimbot. As for perks I use lightweight alloys the most for a multitude of reasons. I also really love Bulwark and Hidden Compartment, but I don't use them as often. This Titan is so slow it really is crucial you have good positioning, and with lightweight that makes it so much easier and reliable to adjust positioning.
Also, legion kicks tone ass off you have them within cqb mode idk what you talking about. Pop bulwark when his missile barrage starts so you aren't wasting the shield on pellets, tear that wall down with the predator cannon, then burst his ass with the shotgun and finish him off while he's running away.
Also I wouldn't recommend you ALWAYS use the shotgun on cool down. If you know a Ronin or Scorch is nearby, use it for them to keep them at bay.

I happen to be one of the people that say Legion is good against Tone, but not the best. I actually have a lot of good luck with Northstar against tone cause you can be so much farther away. And when I played Tone I could never deal with Ronin.

Any idea why sometimes power shot acts wonky if you hold down mouse one while shooting? Like, I feel like powershot takes longer to shoot if I hold mouse 1 while it charges up and sometimes it doesn't shoot at all.
I think it's just a weird animation bug when trying to fire powershot without the predator cannon spun up already. Not sure on whether there's a timing difference or not, didn't really think it was important to cover a bug in this video.

FrothyOmen i am 99% sure this is not a bug but intentional design that I have actually used to my advantage. If you use power shot, and then hit trigger for your primary fire before the power shot is out, it will delay the power shot, and it can be used as an advanced tactic say when a ronin phase dashes to stall the power shot and still hit them after they exit. This is my experience on PS4 as a G20 legion.
It's a bug (I know I'm two months late). It's been existent for a long time now and really hinders Legion since it gives Ion's extra time to pull up their shield and take the power shot. It's kind of frustrating.

i was confused for a second when you said tone was a bigger problem for legion than ion but i realized im mostly fighting tones that still think she is op so they dont expect me to rush them. overall i think this guide perfectly highlights the best ways to handle legion. i would have liked to get a mention of how powershot behaves during smart core since ive heard conflicting information between tracking and not tracking.

So I don't know if this glitch is on pc or ps4 or if anyone else even experiences it but, I play on Xbox one and 50% of the time when I hit the power shot button the predator cannon will charge up but then suddenly it begins the charge up process again then fires. This is especially annoying when I dash around a corner hit the power shot while looking at an ion they realize me and because the charge up is twice as long they have enough time to throw up their vortex shield which then helps them build their core even faster so they can nuke me. I know that this doesn't always happen but it happens enough to lose me my Titan sometimes.
Thats because you have to have the gun spun up before shooting. If you just activate power shot before spinning up it will do that everytime. I know what you r talking about
Erdi Zajmi I believe this happens if you try to hit your primary fire button before the power shot is out and the predator cannon is not spun up. Meaning if you were already shooting and hit power shot, there will be no delay if you had kept the trigger down. However if you go for a raw power shot then hit the trigger, it will delay the animation. This can be used to your advantage against a phase dashing ronin...
As an Ion only player, I can only recall two deaths to Legion. Seriously if you are legion and see Ion just run. All it takes is five bullets to splash you on the feet and doom you instantly. I know it's scummy but it is what it is.
Nothing sillier than having a legion shoot at my ion shield and then i doom him and his buddy with the splash.
Deliverygirl That cheap exploit is being patched next update. And no I will not run from petty Ions. I just wait until the shield turns a slight pinkish red because they think they gunna catch these bullets then I ramp up the power shot when the shield is down for 2 seconds. and I then I do it again thanks to Hidden Compartment. Ima Gen 45 Legion so I'm talking just from experience.

Something a bit helpful to add. If you have gunshield up then reload you can do other things such as sprint (have to check melee) till the reload is over.
I play heavy in Team Fortress 2 so when I transferred over to this game and saw Legion, I absolutely fell in love, played a few matches, and spent all my credits getting hidden compartment and warp fall (because crushing other titans with yours is fucking hilarious) and ever since, I've only been using hidden compartment end extra electric smoke, cause when I'm not playing Scorch with the immunity to his own thermite, it is hard for me to get pilots off, and I can handle most other titans fine. However, learning what is (supposed) to be the specifics for his damage is going to improve my titan v titan combat significantly, and for that, I thank you sir.

wow fucking mind blowing.... I am a gen fucking 15 legion and I never ever had a fucking tone splash me down...... Fucking a goes to show how awful they are. In all my hours playing legion all the tones I have fought shot straight at my shields as I crab walked through them. Or I sniped them repeatedly using power shot.
Hey some tips to new legion players: 1. long range bullets glow red and close range one don't keep this in mind as a legion tries to hide all of his abilities except the shield. Also your core makes a loud dubstep noise which other titans can hear and makes you have yellow lightning bolts come off you. 2. power shot first, most noobs only put up their defences after taking a hit so be sure to hit em hard and early. 3. the one clip if you hit two power shots and enough close range shot you will be able to kill an enemy Northstar at least without reloading. This ever works on flight core north stars as well so long as you have the gunshield.

A strategy of mine that utilizes the wind up time of the powershot for dodging...kind of,the vortex shield.I call it the swing.You basically turn your back to the Ion,start the powershot and then face the ion at the last moment possible just as the shot is about to be fired.This has proved quite useful for me on some occasions as a last resort.

One good thing to know about Legion is that the close-ranged charge shot knocks back titans, this is especially handy with dealing with Ronin who try to rush you and take advantage of your slow movement. Of course, this is only better when you have hidden compartment.

As a Nuke Legion myself I have to say that for most close range Legions a dash to the front followed by a nuclear ejection is a great way to force the enemies to scramble. If your backing up allies your titans death would be heaven for them, to go around and pick off the scrambled titans, or provide a push on your side to force them into a retreating stance rather than a defensive or offensive stance. But that only works if your close range. Oh and for the record I have been salvo cored onto my bulwark shield many times before... The Tone always died.

The dash is good on Legion definitely. I play him as a walking wall of death. I put overcore on him with sensor array plus the backup battery boost. Instantly have a half charged smart core.
Finally someone who thinks the Tone match-up is super in the Tone's favor. One more thing about that match up is, Tone can drop two walls compared to your one gun-shield
As a legion main (G11.4) I do use bulwark a lot on Legion. If you use legion to take on in a 1 v 3 Titan fight it gives be just a little extra time to shoot blindly without having to worry about positioning.

If you are prioritizing killing an enemy Titan, simply crouch when using your shield. Getting your shield to cover most of your body is key. One time I was in a 1 v 5 against titans (however this was attrition) and crouching when using my shield helped keep so much health on me that I won, of course some titans had lower than full health (60-100%) and some where focused on other things but in the end when ever you plan on focusing on a group of titans or a single crouch

His close range power shot puts the 16 rounds into the targets inside of the reticle, that’s why it hits consistently. The explanation is that legion is using his smart aiming capabilities to plot out the paths like the smart pistol, at least that’s how I’ve always explained it
at 2:28 is where a legion was shooting at me through that wall twice in last titan standing, and he was in a group or party. the dudes team was a legion, tone, scorch, and rest were like ronin.
I am a Legion Main. My Legion is g16( I get about 7 titans every ctf or attrition) Sometimes all you should do in a close 1v1 is to shoot and while shooting pressing L1(gun shield) and R1(power shot) as fast as you can as long as you are shooting.

Legion main here, I’m only G3 Legion myself but I know my way around combat now (although not perfectly, that’s why i’m here xd), and I’ve come to find Legion can be very situational.
If you’re in an open / semi open map, Legion dominates. Cutting out enemies ability to hide creates an event in which your opponent cannot and will not survive, no matter the titan. However, maps that are closed off and are full of cover spots create a difficulty for Legion, if you plan to use it you need to ensure you know how to counter those who hide constantly.
I almost always play as legion, and in an lts game, I got paired up against an ion who was fairly good at reading when I was about to shoot, then bringing up the vortex shield and taking out two bars of health. At one point, I caught him in close range, and caught him off guard by frequently meleeing (pretend that's a word) him, then hitting him with a power shot when he caught on to what I was doing. I ended up taking him out with very little damage received.
In the map eden I use legion just like you would use a north star to lock down long sight lines so my teammates tone can push up and drop p-wall. Once they're up I move up, rinse and repeat until they are dead!
a tip from a legion player: when using gun shield you are locked in barrel spin mode. This can be worked around by starting a reload!
