I've thrifted several dolls cheap. Once I learned to clean and fix up hair it made everything easier. I was able to get Caroline and Jess very cheap thrifted.
Great tips! I would just like to add, it's a good idea to check the newly listed often for buy it nows. I have been able to snatch up dolls for really cheap before others even see them listed!

ive thrifted two dolls so far!!
i got my chrissa for $50 plus a licorice included in march 2021. she was in decent condition, i had to wash her body and re stuff her and fix her hair a bit, but that’s something i enjoy doing tbh. the only thing about her is that her hair does fall out very easily and i’m not sure why and i think it’s cut, so i may send her to the hospital.
then just this weekend august 2022 i got my dream doll grace!! she was also $50 and was basically in perfect condition, including her meet braid still being in!! i didn’t have to do any fixing up with her, i was so happy with her.
i’m in love with my collection and currently i’m focusing on restoring all of my dolls rather than getting more since i’ve just recently gotten into the collecting aspect and most of my dolls aren’t in the best condition from when i was little 💘
I got a lot of clothing on eBay for my dolls. The retired clothing is the best.
Also a good option is selling on Mercari if you have old stuff. I haven’t spent a lot of money on AG dolls because I’m also a seller on Mercari. Mercari saves your sold money onto your account and you can use it to buy something. It’s awesome cause your basically getting stuff for free if you think about it.
I also love fixing dolls. Someone was selling a Kit doll and I only paid 40 for her. She was basically brand new only her leg was broken tho but I took her apart, reattached her leg, put her back together and she was just like new.

I got Kit from Once upon a child! She was $40! She did have a few marks and a stain on her leg but otherwise she was in good condition!!

I completely agree with all of your tips and tricks. I love eBay and I've bought most of my collection there. I almost never buy from AG without combining the order with a 2x 3x or 4x points deal. And remember that if you're a Berry member, that's a base of 1.5 points (so 3x = 4.5). I bought my Evette with a 3x points deal and was able to get Samantha's nightgown ($30) completely free because that was back when your cart was $0, they didn't charge shipping. Sadly, those days are gone (unless you call them, I've heard). Great video! Great tips!

I'm just concerned why people buy the doll and then list it for something different without realizing. LIKE YOU DONT KNOW WHAT DOLL YOU BOUGHT? Yes I know there a few exceptions but yeah.

Just curious...I recently got back into collecting AG dolls, and wanted to start up where we left off with Rebecca and Julie, but the accessories have gotten ridiculously expensive. I know they offer $5 off if bought with doll, but that's still $31...more than I ever paid for accessories before. I've recently found out that you can get some things cheaper off eBay, like I got Melody for $80 and Truly Me #92 for $75. I have $20 off with my points...that's why I'm buying directly from AG, but should I wait and see if I can get the accessories cheaper, or just get them?? Thanks for your help. : )

Do you know if you send an doll with neck strings to get her head replaced at the doll hospital will they change the doll to have an zip tie
They did not with my Emily ! I was worried, too. I just put in the details that I’d REALLY like to keep her neck strings ! She came back as good as new.
