Fun fact: my uncle was an extra on this film. He said McQueen was really nice and down to earth and, The Warrior was an unbelievable asshole. Nobody could talk to him except the director. Even though Warrior’s part is small(ish), he still acted like a diva. He also said that the entire shoot was a shit show. But, the pyro guys were super crazy and lobbied for bigger explosions. This is a fun film, hope you enjoy it!

And yeah, not surprising at all about Warrior.
No surprise. Warrior always was a massive asshole and made enemies everywhere he went. This movie actually received a bit of attention here in Germany, because Wrestling was red hot and Warrior was super popular. So to both promote the movie and some wrestling shows here he main evented, he appeared on TV, wielding a sword like a mad man (and looking like a homeless version of He-Man) and grunting a few words even the interpreter had a hard time understanding.
As host Thomas Gottschalk later recalled was completely unapproachable and didn't even stay to sign autographs for the fans.
I mean you always hear the same stories about Warrior treating this fans like shit. Actor Ryan Gosling told the story that when he was a kid, Warrior was his hero - until the day he met. He innocently asked for a autograph, Warrior told him to just get lost.
That tracks with every thing I've ever heard about UW. Apparently being coked/roided out literally all of the time isn't as great as it looks on paper.
Ultimate Warrior was a strange dude in his bodybuilding/wrestling days, the mixture of substances he used did him no favors.
A pistol featured heavily in this film the HK VP70Z. You have to be a boss to use it. It has like 17-pound trigger pull.
"Kill to the death" sounds like a movie that would be on this show.🤣
Ok I now NEED Erin starring in a terrible low budget film called “Killed to the DEATH!” 😂🤣

@@JasonBrant SO SO much respect for the guys who do it old school like that. The CGI idiocy of certain franchises today (with the initials FF) just gets more and more preposterous; really miss old school "Ronin" level DRIVING. There's been a few, but not enough.
@@JasonBrant Car stunts like that one were PM's specialty. Almost every one of their movies has at least one car flip. Their 1998 movie "Land of the Free", with Jeff Speakman, is the true champion in that aspect, with no less than six car flips (plus one with a school bus!).

No, the lore is thus: he took her to see the premiere of battlefield earth, which wore her defenses down with such a cinematic masterpiece. Then when he dropped her off home , he got real close and said with gusto “ DID YOU WANT LUNCH !? “ she was like putty in his hands after that. No giant platform shoe was required for performance either . 🎉

YES! I was on the set of this PM project when my friend Master Gerald Okamura shot the arena fight with the Ultimate Warrior. In fact I still have the behind the scenes footage I shot. The "Lee" she mentioned may be Master Eric Lee. They both have done martial art films together... including mine. Director Art Camacho was involved and even makes an appearance. It's a small, B-movie, martial arts world. You guys rock.

This movie makes me wish there was an action/buddy movie where the only one constantly taking his shirt off is the one with no muscle tone and a beer gut instead of his body-building partner. You can just imaging the viewers screaming, "Why?!!!"

On an adjacent subject, if anyone sends you a DVD of "Phoenix the Warrior"/"She-Wolves of the Wasteland", -- rejoice. It's a gloriously horrible movie I recorded on VHS off of television in its censored form where my brother and I replace 85% of the audio via the VCR's audio dub feature. It's horrendous in the absolute best way possible.

No Holds Barred is the movie every aspiring thespian should examine forwards and backwards if they want to truly master the craft. Forget Stanislavsky, Hogan in No Holds Barred blurs the line between reality and cinematography.

Deformed Lance Henrikson is Joseph Ruskin, who was in Star Trek's The Gamesters of Triskelion. Many Mission: Impossible appearances as well.
I cracked up when they referred to him as Eastern Lance Henrikson and cancerous Lance Henrikson. I laughed all over again just writing that. 🤣

Yep, he was a character actor who guest starred in just about every 60's and 70's TV show (which explains his appearance on Star Trek). He did voices on a bunch of 80's cartoons before guest starring on all the Star Trek spinoff shows. He was also vice president of the Screen Actors Guild for a number of years.

The year before this came out, Chad McQueen appeared in another b-movie called Death Ring (which is a fun movie and should definitely be on your list). So in my mind, he only agreed to be in this movie if it gave him free promotion for his other movie by calling the underground tournament Death Ring and putting it prominently on a marquee in one scene.

That bus in the video after the jail break is a "GM Futureliner" and there are only like 5 of them in existence (or was) surprised it made it into the movie, since they were basically traveling science exhibits.
There were a couple of them parked behind a Taco Bell in Sherman Oaks for like 15 years. The one we see is probably one of those, which they were able to rent.
I really love how this channel appreciates great stunt-work, no matter how terrible the movie.
We love crazy-ass stunts! Can't get enough of them.

i have to give you credit, Jason. your call back memory is pretty impressive sometimes. i have seen A LOT of movies in my life and can remember the titles, stars or plots of just about all of them, but you have a good sense of scenes. calling back the "shooting through the cabinets" was well done. although you sometimes mistake certain stars for certain roles, you still do a great job! love the channel guys, so keep it up!!!

Yeah, They made great bad movies, quality of production was well done despite the low budgets and the action was competently directed, and plots were not great but passable and served the action well and were helped by the fact they did not take themselves seriously, and tone of movies had great Macho flair in cheesy awesome kind of way. I miss this era of Action B-movies.

I saw this about 30 yrs ago and I never was able to come up with the name or to find it again for that matter.

My cycling team back in the 90s was named The Alleycats and the logo was a tiger wearing eye shields. We did events like the MS150, which is a 162 mile bike ride.
FYI there IS a movie called Immortal Combat. It's with Roddy Piper and Tiny "Zeus" Lister. A banger of SBIG. Came out around the same time as the Mortal Kombat movie arrived in like 95

PM was so much fun. Not necessarily good but never boring. Somehow they got prominent actors like Donald Sutherland, Robert Vaughn & Yaphet Kotto to show up in their decidedly low-mid budget affairs.

Gary Daniels has some gems out there. He did a film called Rage. It was wild. Massive action sequences. He also did Bloodmoon which had fantastic fight choreography. I recommend both. Put Rage at the top of the list!

Holy shit! That badass truck during the chopper fight is a 1939 GM Futurliner! Only 12 were made and 9 are know to exist. That boys and girls is a true rare gem in a B movie.
Guarantee any thrash metal musician watching this is calling their next song "Killed To The Death." I know I am.

@9:48 the vehicle being chased is a old GM Futurliner. Only a dozen were ever made and only 9 are still around today. I wonder how they managed to get their hands on one of those behemoths. I also used to enjoy watching a lot of the Gary Daniels movies from the 90s when I was a kid.

The name of the guy you couldn't place (although I assume you've already looked it up) is Gerald Okamura. He also appears in "Return to Savage Beach", which is the sequel to "Day of the Warrior". 2 Andy Sidaris movies starring wrestler Buff Bagwell that you already have in the collection. I am looking forward to that double header!

The tunnel at the beginning of the movie was used in the end of "The Terminator" and was also used in "Blade Runner" and "Kill Bill Part 1" where it was supposed to be in Japan.

At first I thought the guy fighting the Ultimate Warrior in 16:13 was Al Leong. The "Wing Kong Golden Gunslinger" in Big Trouble in Little China. But on further review it was Gerald Okamura who was the "Wing Kong Hatchet Man" in the same movie. both are bald with goatees.
