We thought they might not exist, but we have finally discovered the rarest of gems - the female vanity project. STREETS OF RAGE is a film by Mimi Lesseos in which she kicks everyone's ass, saves trafficked children, and fights the affection of every male who meets her. This one is amazing.

@Cybjon Lol, yep! Awful acting ability or lack of. I love her growling and yelling when she fights, though. And seeing her naked in the shower which Jason Brant here inexplicably neglected to include in his reaction video hahaha. Hot mama is built like " a brick house"

Mimi's pretty damned good: she can actually act, actually fight, and she has definite screen presence. As for Brian asking "Do women really piss all over?" I've done janitorial work and let me tell ya the women's bathrooms are always WAY nastier than the men's. Always.
Yep , I cleaned restrooms as a teen. Women’s restrooms ARE THE WORST!
Standing men can aim. Hovering women that refuse to contact the seat cannot, and they don't care at all. But at least I never seen a man's seed sprayed on a women's restroom mirror.
Looking back, it MUST have been a hoax. It was a busy pool hall that sold tons of beer. It was a weekend. And the bouncers were all either retired military, LEO or high level martial artists enthusiasts. It was NOT a good place for mischief. I can't envision someone dumb enough to stand on the sink at the Moment Of Truth, hoping they survive the night.
Mimi was much better than the usual vanity project actor.
Yes...I agree also. I did some janitorial work myself the summer before I started university years ago. Yes...women as definitely much worse that men. And it's not just the pissing everywhere...there are other things too...

Mimi was actually a pretty big deal in the American Wrestling Association in the late 80’s. She worked with Madusa Micelli who was one of the biggest female wrestlers of that era. From what I hear, she was pretty nice, too. She worked with Playboy too while wrestling. And Erin…they are that big, btw.
We checked out some of her wrestling after we finished the movie. Explains why she looked tough in the movie.
I thought Brian was shouting SANDWICH constantly until I realised you'd been editing it in to censor swearing and I lost it.
This movie has so much "sax" I had to cover my ears with Viagra pills.

The difference between Mimi's vanity project and the others ( Neil Breen, John De Hart etc.) is that Mimi isn't bad to look at and she actually has some legitimate attributes to be vain about. Also she's a more believable fighter.
It does decrease the comedic value, though. The more delusional the star, the funnier the movie ends up being. Luckily this had enough strange choices of content and settings that it seems to have made up for her actual talent. She never even attempted a "Shimmy Shimmy Slide" musical number.
I found 'Magnificent Mimi Lesseos vs Brittany Brown' on YT. I loved the hair grabbing, but she did legit flying kick from the ropes.

When I saw the thumbnail, I actually thought it was a Rothrock movie.

Also disappointed that this had no relation to the video game series of the same name.

What surprised me about Mimi Leessos was that she was in Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby. She was one of the opponents of the boxer that fought Hillary Swank's character. From that to now, Mimi has aged gracefully and still has it going on😊
I was laughing hard when Erin said that the actor playing Lunar was giving off David Gale vibes. It would've made sense to me if I hadn't watched the review of The Guyver yesterday.🤣The guy playing Lunar's right hand man, his name is Gokor Chivichyan. He is a well-known and respected Judoka and martial arts instructor. He was in a several 90s movies. The movie I remember him more for is Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor.
YES!!! Was hoping this would get SBIG stamps across the board. I predict you'll like 'Pushed To The Limit' (also with Mimi) even more. And if "Mimis" is now the female equivalent of "Bolos" on SBIG -- that's the cherry on top of this 'vanity project' cake. THX so much!

Well she drives an Isuzu so the vanity isn't too vain! She just has to be extra careful on those gentle corners and the rescued hostages will be just fine!

As a fellow western Pennsylvanian I fully understood what Erin was talking about when she used the term "holler", or as my grandparents would have pronounced it, "holla". And Brian's exclamation at the end of the discussion about making a sandwich almost brought me to tears!
I was laughing big time when Erin said it. It's definitely a word that's been used in the South, but more in the Deep South states in earlier decades; Never really it in the southern state I live.
The way this movie flirts with some really inappropriate moments is the most tense thing about it. So many points where we gasp and hold our breath- and all for the wrong reasons.
After watching this all i can say is..my soul has been violated and my goddamn feet hurt 🤕.

I think vanity projects are so fascinating because they are a really unfiltered look into the mind of the creator, much more so then other movies which have input from a greater variety of people.

Oh, I remember her. I have a couple of her movies. "American Angels", and "Pushed to the limit". I used to make my kids watch them as a punishment when they disobeyed me.

For years I'd see the "Streets of Rage" VHS box 8n rental stores. I never rented it or noticed it stared Mimi Lesseos, I would have sword it was a Cynthia Rothrock movie 😂 I'm guessing they were trying for that.

another female vanity project is some movie thats like "the diamond cobra vs the white fox". RLM did have a video on it but sadly the movie maker marked it for take down so now its gone. before it was taken down it was pretty funny. the movie maker is some girl who plays 2 characters and like all vanity projects she wrote and produced the movie too. the whole neighborhood and her damn family is in the movie lol.

"His voice dropped an octave" hahahahaha. The story lines of 2D beat-'em-up games were awesome. And so was the graphic art and music. No wonder someone made a vanity project movie inspired by Streets of Rage.

Two suggestions (I did NOT see them in the list of reviewed movies). 1. Blind Fury (1989) Rutger Hauer. Terry O'Quinn, Noble Winningham. A blind Vietnam vet, trained as a swordfighter, comes to America and helps to rescue the son of a fellow soldier (With an ending ripped from a classic Western!). 2. One-Eyed Monster (2008) Amber Benson, Charles Napier, Ron Jeremy, Veronica Hart. A hostile alien wreaks havoc on the cast and crew of an adult movie in the mountains of Northern California. Rated R, But NOT that much nudity.

"Streets of Rage" is a gloriously chaotic smoothie, blending an over-the-top and hyper-fit Mimi, plot lines that make a labyrinth look straightforward, and set designs that make you wonder if they ran out of budget halfway.
This desperately needs a studio audience laugh track, applause, and all the usual sitcom touches to those dialog scenes. It would fit perfectly. Maybe even laughter when somebody twists a guy's neck, then twists it back the other way like they're trying to fix the damage they just did. 19:48 That was the worst one. Her foot never came anywhere near his head. I thought everybody knew to put the camera behind the attacker in a fight scene. I can't believe they made a great series of Sega Genesis games from this.
