I feel for you, dude. I really enjoy your Titan vids. Whichever route you decide to go next, make sure you tear the engine down and figure why it blew. It’ll get a ton of views.
Sorry to hear about your Titan. First you need to know what happened, then make a judgement call on how to go about fixing/ repairing the truck. Might not be a crank issue and if it is you can get a short block and rebuild. Anyway good luck and I’ll be watching.
Sorry to hear about your titan ... I'm bummed out .. I've owned my diesel going on 2 years now and all I've had to do is oil changes plus fuel filters... and I primarily use it to tow a toyhauler in the worst heat arizona throws at us...I guess I've been lucky..
2017 xd. 2 turbos out, erg, engine wiring harness, fuel filter housing cracked twice, DPF failure all before 100k 5yr was up. Now I have bypass and looks to be a failure of the rear main gasket lol might be replacing a motor soon. I'd stay away from the 5.0 cummins. I should of never sold my 5.9 cuz I'm going back to one lol
Would love to see a tear down, I'd try to stay optimistic until you can really verify what's damaged. Also if you were still using those old tunes that could've potentially been part of the issue, it isn't the first time I've heard of GDP ruining these trucks.
This issue is more to do with Cummins than Nissan but one thing I've noticed about Nissan in general is that with all their engineering expertise they haven't been able to produce any vehicle that's remotely reliable or durable since 1975 when they were known as Datsun and the 180B was new in the showrooms. I would steer well clear of any vehicle produced by them. If you own one there sure is no need to look for trouble because it'll find you for sure.
The same exact thing happened to me. It turns out the the rods were spun on the crankshaft. Warranty company told me I drove it over 2000 miles like that which of course they say was during the validation period. Goodluck bud the new motor is 20k.
I can’t believe how expensive it is. I’ve Class 8 Mack’s and you’re pretty close to what a long block costs me to get a Motor for my trucks at the Dealer.
Damn... I was hoping you'd stumble on my tune and give it a try... guess not now! You're right though, I get way more Titan XD views than I do on anything else I've posted... except my wife shooting an mp40. That's... really popular for some reason. Find what failed in the engine before moving forward.
I bet the crankshaft broke It breaks right behind the snout where the front damper bolts on. That throws off timing and balance as the reluctor ring, for the crank sensor is external. Happened to mine with 39K miles. Nissan warrantied the motor even though it was deleted There are several other reports regarding broke cranks. I read where they supposedly had a bad batch of cranks. This was supposed to be 2016/2017. Mine was a 2017. Never ran hard either
He is not on schumates tunes. He's on the other shitty problematic ones I think there called gdp tunes or some crap I forget the name I think they start with a g
If your crank is snapped, you can take it to a shop and they can inspect it to see if it’s still good or to see if you have a hairline crack somewhere. Or just rebuild it without knowing. Yolo. JB weld that shit if it tried to leak like people do with the 53 block 5.9 Cummins 🤣
That sucks man. I started having issues with mine at the 2 year mark and parted ways with it. I would check with Nissan to see if anything was covered, I know they extended the manufacturer warranty to 150k. These trucks were notorious lemons
I do hope ya don't ever regret it, of course lol. But I might go for it and see how it is. Might not be too hard, who knows! But I don't think anyone else has actually done it.@@kbridges5.0
@@rosemarycarnes7497 i’m honestly not sure lol, the 5.0 is pretty big and with the 5.9 being taller i think it could fit with fabrication. I just love the truck and i would like to keep it after the motor or tranny goes

i hope the titan makes a return, i enjoyed watching content on that truck
Always a sad day when we lose a 5L, but sounds like a great opportunity for a 5.9 swap🤔. On behalf of almost every 5.0 owner, you would be a legend…

Damn bro. I’ll take over making the Diesel Titan content. You really got a dud.
Sorry to hear about this bro I have a 16 titan xd only had the injector go out on it *knock on wood love your build vids
How many miles now?
OMG, I have been watching all of this build, so sorry brother.
And im interested in the 240 also.
Noooooooo! I hate that man, had the truck looking really good too. Thats why im scared to dump money into mine lol
*Will miss the Titan Contend I my self have a 2019 titan Cummins and only had a Speaker go out (knock on wood) but will be here for the Contend*

Have you thought of trying to do a 6.7 swap in the truck can be more stable and has alot of support? Maybe a thought no one has done it!
ive thought about it, it would just be very difficult to handle the electronics, ac and 4wd but maybe

I hope that it’s something simple and not too expensive! I wish you the best of luck. I really enjoy your Titan content.
Oh its expensive nissan wants 26k for a long block

Find what failed in the engine before moving forward.
If you rebuild it you will be breaking new ground going where no man has gone before. You will be the first.
I had a 2016 with under 90k miles. Crankshaft broke and it was going to need a new engine which would've costed me about $35k between parts and labor.
Nooooo😢 I was rooting for you man, I guess I'm not buying the titan now
What tune were you running and by which tuner? Gdp tunes were garbage
What oil did you use???
If you do sell your diesel titan ,get the new 400hp 400Tq 9spd auto pro 4x Titan 2012+
2020+*

Gas Titan!! Pedal Commander, flowmaster, lift it enjoy!!
I’d love to see a gas engine swap; been trying to form a plan for IF/when my 5L quits also..

Pretty positive it’s thru Bradley. He had a video about it.

Hopefully it's not a snapped crank
How much for you’re 240?
Did you get the extended warranty information on the actuator and turbo from Nissan. It's like 10 years or 150,000 miles?
he deleted it, warranty is no good.
@@haroldwright5013 I'm pretty sure that doesn't matter. Whether it's deleted or not. If you read the warranty it doesn't say anything about that.

You had diesel or gasser? I know the 5.6 gas is generally reliable.
@@TexasNativee I had the diesel. Everyone I know with the 5.8 love them.
My son says to check the carborator
Sounds like a broke crankshaft. Haven't watched future vids but just guessing.
Ya could maybe 6.7 cummins swap it
That was definitely a consideration, but I went with the stock engine, I may regret that later lol

2005 Nissan Titan has 300miles still strong and parts way cheaper
If you sell the lift I call first dibs
I can already tell you the crank broke.
Rebuild it
one day i’m gonna put a 5.9 cummins in my 17 XD when my engine blows lmao
Will the 5.9 fit in that engine bay? I have been thinking of doing the same thing.
