I am very interested in your experiences, as I camp and have camped in the Cave Creek area of the Chiricahuas for the last 55 years. Such a place like none other!
What wonderful footage Jason! I came (probably too) close to bears when I lived in the Kootenays, Canada, they would able through my back yard. Such majestic and magical beings!
Thank you so much! My next video might be just as exciting... I have 5 cameras from different angles at a popular bear pool I found, and the bear rut is starting!
The funny thing is i was half an hr late in getting up that morning, so I would have been checking that camera when they arrived if it wasn't for that!
The first bear encounter I ever had was a sow w/ cubs. She was upset....a huffing and puffing. Obviously sacred more than anything. Rather than yelling, I spoke in soft calm tones. She relaxed and they vanished into the thick brush. On the other hand, I once had an adult male charge me. In that case I yelled as loud as I could! Ha
Hey Jason, are those shin guards to protect you from rattlers? I rarely see them in the mountains up here, however in the last week I had two run ins with Arizona Black Rattlesnakes. The first one I did not see. I was about to place my foot within inches of its head, when it warned me with rattle just a moment before. I think maybe its time that I invest in gaiters!
@@peggyhubbard8481 The reason may be due to the fact that the fake leg is cold. Rattlesnakes, like all pit vipers can actually 'see' HEAT via their heat receptors. If the leg is not warm, chances are the snake will not strike. Thousands of people are bitten by Rattlesnakes in the USA each year. Anti venom has eliminated most deaths.
I had the excact same scenario years ago. Went to check a cam in Carr canyon in the huachucas. Had a sal with 2 cubs on the cam, half an hour later next pic was me with a baby backpack on with my little girl in the back. Wife was with me too. I was very thankful that we werent all there at the same time. I was packing, but still wouldnt have wanted to kill an animal in self defense either way. Sometimes Gods timing is just right.
Wow! That was a close call. The crazy thing is I got about a 30-minute late start that morning, or else I would have been there the same time as them... God's timing is definitely right!
Nice where about south Arizona must be part of the Rockies not so much the desert I been all over Arizona an love that state I live in the sunshine state my whole life but I’d move to Arizona if it wasn’t for my kids living close by be ❤️

Well I am glad that turned out well but wow, it nearly was a close encounter of the Mama Bear kind. Those cubs are just too cute.

They are so adorable. I wonder if they smelled you coming. I had a couple encounters with a sow and cubs. Nothing came of them, thank God!

Wow!
When I think of Arizona, I think of cactus and desert.
We have forest mountains also...
Wow dude, that was cool! Just missed them. Cubs were so tiny.
I wonder how momma would have reacted if she saw me? Lol
Very cool video. What was Momma Bear trying to get pulling down the branch?
She was scent marking that tree.
Extraordinarias imágenes
Thank you!
Wow!! 👀😁

Yes, they are for rattlers. I don't see many, but the ones I do almost get me. I even wear them in the wintertime now, also.
I saw a study of 75 rattlesnakes encountered only 6 attempted to strike the human fake foot. But protection is not a bad idea.

Cool. All three pretty dark.
Yes, they were...
Well capture
Thank you!
Yikes. 👀🥰
Wow, super video
Thanks, Wayne! I wish the lighting was a bit better, but what can you do? Lol
