Nah when its such a compulsive behaviour. A slight lesson in humility won't "fix" him or teach him another way. He's the kind of narcissist that would never accept anything less than him being on top. You either let him take the spot and lord it over you. Or you ignore him into obscurity. Which is in fact what happened to him. He was always going to fall. He was as great as he pretends to be, but unlike Dorn, he took the wrong attitude with that fact. And you can't really fix that.
His character growth only came late during the heresy itself. Up until that point he was mostly the same childish person as always. From the siege of terra onwards Perturabo was an entire different primarch from his past self. I still see the battle of the iron cage as the farewell to old rivalries, the one thing he needed to do before carving a new path. And oh boy, did it end with a bang. The iron warriors still hate the imperial fists, i just don't know if Perturabo would rather have them overcome that hatred or keep it stirred as a means to keep the legion focused. Only GW knows and shit, i guess we're getting old and grey before they give the damn thing some disclosure.
Perturabo most recently fought and lost to the Death Guard, his form seems to be an enigma and his condition seems to be moribund. I think with Fulgrim showing back up soon, we might get some new light on Perty
@ZaKRo-bx7lp great insight. In a short story GW added in a limited edition of Storm of Iron there's a small description of his form. And the way they word it doesn't really sound like a regular daemon primarch form. He's described as having a face of pallid, dead flesh, black eyes that seem to shed a small light. It's said he was already huge before his ascension, bit now his armor looks more like a sarcophagus, the metal surface looking like a skin of iron and shadow. Taking that into consideration, i really hope he's at most in some sort of warp fueled life support, dreadnought style.
@Primo_Luca Yeah, that's my takeaway, too. He's either staving death and/or refusing full ascension into deamonhood by staying in a state between life and death in his warp infused sarcophagus. Kinda like how Guilliman was for 10 millennia except with the ability to move.
Guilliman needs to capture Perturabo. Just imagine the profits he could reap from the salt mine that is his brother. That salt money could revive the Imperium in full.
There was a lot that went into Perturabo being who he was. Considering his adoptive father's title was Tyrant you can imagine the sort of environment that Perturabo grew up in. It doesn't excuse what he has done, but it does start to explain the petulant child bit.
I believe that ‘pettines’ can be a very interesting character trait, and some traitor legion primarchs have that. Konrad Curze ‘chosed’ to be a petty man because he saw his future and at there his course was set, he simply gave up trying to be good because he knew it was meaningless. Mortarion knew he wasn’t a nice person, but he still wanted to be seen as one(which is kinda ironic) and despite all his efforts, he failed, multiple times actually. And than him and his legion got nurgle’s disease so the only choice he had to save his loved ones was to submit to madness. He also ‘chosed’ this path. And then we have Perturabo.
This is why the nobody including his legion, brothers and his father didn’t like him. This is why the Emperor trusted Rogal Dorn over Perturabo, he made the right calls
Several things. Iirc the brother had challenged perty aeveral times throug the years and alway lost. This wax he first time he managed to win and perty didn't storm out. He actually congratulated his adoptive brother...then later came back and dedtroyed the statues.
Bro imagine being a demi god losing a competition to your fake human brother only to get called to serve by god himself only to meet Dorn your real brother that is even more perfect then the first one., Poor perty was probably sobbing constantly in his room.
What happened to the homeworlds of the traitor primarchs after the heresy? Were they all turned into chaos worlds, or were some of them recaptured by the Imperium and are still in the Imperium today?
The Lion was destroying most of them DURING the end of the Heresy, nearing the siege on Terra. So if the traitors won The Lion would be top on their shit list

I don’t mind it when it’s literally anything other than the one skill they are supposed to be superhuman in. But outbuilding Perty is as stupid as a baseline human out psykering Magnus or out administrating Rowboat. It’s soo dumb.
@_-JonDoe-_ I mean this was a battle of art. That is one of the few things a base human could have a chance to surpass a primarch. It's stated that pertys was better built with finer technical skill but it lost in one thing. That was it didn't feal as human as his brothers did. The little flaws that his brother a master of his craft as well made it stick out just the smallest amount more. In terms of most primarchs most of them are way too far ahead or powerful to have a base line human even compare but the skill aspects some primarchs could he matched like dorin or lorgar but not morty or the lion
Perty the Petty. He needed to be taught humility but that boy ain’t right.

Should've been put in place by the Emperor or one of the stronger primarchs.....
Tbh his adoptive brother was a gigachad. Being better at anything than a primarch is a sign of absolute genius
Agreed
He wasn't just a better sculptor - he was a better man.
So he was jealous of his adoptive brother and his real brother
Oh Perty you never changed
Oh yea
and yet perturabo wondered why pretty much everyone hated him like not even his sons like bro 😭💀

hmm
Perturabo, primarch of self-saboteur. He could've ended up like Guilliman, but his own ego got the better of him

Tyrant is just the names for their leaders.
Overall Olympia was not the worst place in the galaxy.

Except 40000chan. Those nurgle cultists would take anyone who would stoop to their gross farty level.

He congratulated him privately and then when he left he destroyed both statues
Perturabo: The biggest whiner in the 40k Universe.
Pettyabo is his name

Well... Let's not forget that Perturabo could kill him but he didn't. Perty was actually pretty humane.
Correction, Perturabo halfassed it thinking he’d win anyway
