Troop: Ok Spell: OP, the fact that you can revive your heroes during battle... My god, that's a strong spell. Defense: ... A bigger sweeper but with the fire element rather than wind element... A bad replacement for the Eagle Artillery...
Why is the Thrower a cyclops? One eye means no depth perception, which means you can’t properly tell distance from a target, so throwing is so much harder.
The eagle was an iconic defense sad to see it go. I think the impact of the new townhall attack just doesnt compare. I love how powerful EA's impact feel (the sound, the slight camera shake, the hole on the ground). the new defense looks cool though. I can see people facing them one side and put all the strong defenses on the same side to create creative asymmetric bases.
These new updates surely will bring new atk stratergy! Btw, this is my personal opinion, the concept of merging the Town Hall and the Eagle Artillery is cool, but it does come with some drawbacks. Firstly, it significantly impacts both attack and defense strategies. The Town Hall and the Eagle Artillery are individually powerful defenses, and merging them eliminates the strategic decision of targeting one over the other-especially for bases where they’re placed side by side. So, if the Eagle Artillery is destroyed, the Town Hall still serves as a fallback defense, and vice versa. Combining them allows attackers to simply blimp to the Town Hall, destroy it, and gain massive value. Secondly, this change completely alters how the Eagle Artillery functions, including its range, attack pattern, and activation conditions. The same applies to the Town Hall, which loses its unique defensive role. Town Hall 17, for example, feels more like a fusion of the Multi Mortar and Lava Launcher from the Builder Base, rather than an evolution of the main base defenses. Lastly, the unique mechanics of the Eagle Artillery-including its sound effects-are lost in this merge. It’s just not the same without it.
Remember the defense that the th has won't be the only defense it has at th 17. He mentioned in the first sneak peak that there is going to be something else with the th in sneak peek 3 that is to do with the eagle
I wholeheartedly agree but so far we see we are getting a lot of new and powerful defenses coming with th17 so I do believe it will balance out but I will miss the eagle arti.
I agree the Eagle had its place, and it won’t be the same without it. But that’s not always abad thing. Having the gameplay switch up is good, to stop things getting stale. We can’t just keep adding more and more defenses so I do like the approach they’re taking with merging. There will always be pros and cons, and for some people that’s not worth it. But to me with the new defenses and the changes, it’s good for the game. The Eagle lives on at the lower TH levels 😎
Nah you can easily get it done within 2 years even if you are a newbie then upgrades costs and timer are further reduced in this update. And from my own experience I started an alt account in September which reached th 10 now.
Is it weird to say that I’m not looking forward to all these new things that TH 17 brings? I just feel like the game is unrecognizable compared to even just 2 years ago. In a lot of ways, simpler is better. Idk maybe that’s just me but I don’t like the direction the game is heading, similar to Clash Royale. I’ve played COC consistently for years without much hesitation, but recently i just haven’t felt the same love for it as I used to. The only reason I’m still playing it is the fear of missing out, ya know?
That was me for years, was a max player and I finally let go during the end of TH15. You won't miss out and you won't want to go back. The game is going in a direction that really just isn't the same. Glory days are gone.
That’s what happens when a game is 12 years old. They need to keep evolving otherwise it will die. What you’re feeling is a mix of nostalgia and burnout, which is normal when you’ve been playing for so long.
I took about a year off after maxing TH 13 or so. Came back to all sorts of new things. Still love it! Some parts better than others... Probably should add I'm now Max 16 waiting on 17
My prediction is that the new building is "hero house" or something based on what it looks like. From there you can probably choose 4 active heroes because when the new minion hero comes it would be too op to have 5 heroes at the same time. That would also allow you to use 4 heroes even when one is upgrading. This would also mean that the dev team could add even more heroes in the future without braking the game and the new heroes wouldn't even take any space in the base because you can only have 4 active heroes.
This reminds me of an old game I used to play, Castle Clash, wish was even older than COC. It was great for a few years and then it became soooo confusing with over a hundred heroes, way too many different equipment and evolution systems. To say they ruined it would be an understatement. Someone should be a case study PowerPoint file on the subject, and send it to supercell.
Queen Charge strength over time: TH14: very strong TH15: strong, but hard to pull off TH16: inferior to Warden charge, but still usable TH17: Completely dead. Both the firespitter and Town hall can now target the queen and healers at the same time coupled with no new healer level.
i think all other things are very good but the thrower ,it does not bring anything special, it's just a archer with more hit points , i am not saying it's trash , it may be op , but is the thrower like special? root riders has new mechanics , but what does the thrower have ? nthing

@@nathanwong710 It's probably really difficult to come up with completely new mechanics at this point, hopefully the thrower will fill a new strategy niche that didn't exist before and at least that could be interesting. The part I dislike about the new troop is the name, that's the least creative name for a troop I've ever seen.
@@Alex-02 Yeah. Could’ve name them Cyclops or Ogre or something. Still sound better than Thrower and other troops have their spieces name as their name too. Golem, Ice Golem, Giant, Dragon, E-Dragon etc. I hope they change it in the actual update but it’s unlikely.
I think the best use case for the revive spell would be funnel heroes. If you use the cahmpion or king just let them funnel and go down without using abilities, then after a while while you get into the center of the base revive them so they pincer the base without being under constant fire.

yea, I appreciate Judo's content because he answer's the 'what if' questions, like at the end of the video with the Hero Revive spell he covered all questions we probably had about reviving the hero in different situations, Keep it up Judo.
the revive spell would work MARVELOUSLY with the recall spell, you could technically do a double queen walk, after the queen goes down just recall her somewhere else that needs a clean up while the main army funnels throughout the base
I feel like the revive spell will be a huge part of attacks, being able to revive heroes can really change the output of the attack if you use it correctly
not sure about that, like judo said why plan for a hero's death for the use of the revive spell, when you can just use the two housing space to help your overall attack

As he pointed, you don't have to revive immediately, you choose when to revive, which can be crucial in most attacks, since at revival, you can keep them much more safer, also funneled to a certain area, and take down buildings that way. It will also help immensely in war attacks where you run out of timers and need those extra 5 secs. You clearly haven't thought about how useful this spell is. It's quite probably the best spell in the game now.
The firespitter looks cool, but weak. Considering alot of the complaints around TH16 were that offence was too easy...to remove the eagle and add a signature defence that can hardly kill giants is actually wild...
Everything else is fine, but I'm really not a fan of upgrading the majestic, decorated, iconic and one of the most significant defenses, the Eagle Artillery, just so I can kill it for an underwhelming defense as opposed to the eagle. It's like if there's one defense I'd leave alone and not merge, it'd be the eagle. Who and why did Supercell think it'd be a great idea is beyond me! Did you speak to them about this, @JudoSloth?

@@JK47koliIf they keep doing this every year-year and a halfish like they plan on doing, there will be an overload of too many troops and too many spells. Yes it gives variety, but there is such thing as too much choice. Hell, 90% of the playerbase just spams edrags still after 9 years when there's literally dozens of other strategies. Just because a new troop is added, doesn't mean the vast majority of people will use it. On top of that, they're already running out of ideas for adding troops. The druid is just a giant and healer blended. Like Judo said, the thrower is just a wizard for higher THs. The last unique troop we had was titans and before that was edrags, which themselves have aspects of each other.
Jokes on u supercell actually making new troop and spells with every th recall with th 15 overgrown with th 16 and nao hero spell with th 17 and we always get new troop with th so yeah we are getting new troop and spell with every th @@_MOHAMMAD_Junaid_
the revive spell will have a REALLY good use like you said in bk charging but also in bk outside cleanup like usually i just send him cleaning the outside for the funnel while having a barakes so now i can let him die and the save the boots and spiky ball for the inside as my attack moves in
I would like to point out the odds we get eagle back at a future TH are not 0. It's for sure pretty low if I had to take a guess but we never know what's gonna happen for those who aren't happy with that merge.

hi judo i noticed a calculation mistake at 11:04, since the lab assistant can speed up 12 hours a day, it means that it will reduce your upgrade time by 33% and not 50%. For example a 15 day upgrade will take 10 days with the help of the lab assistant (10 + 0.5x10), and not 7,5 days
@@dp_hridayan no, he is correct. An easier way to to think of it is that the lab naturally does 24 of research per day. The helper will do 12 hours of research per day. So, a total of 36 hours (or 1.5 days) of research will be done with both the lab and the helper. A 15 day upgrade would take 10 days with the lab and helper.

The revive spell it seems very nice as a sort of backup, particularly if you do a hero walk with healers and may make a mistake when starting your attack. Cant wait to see the final sneak peak no. 3 tomorrow!
Thrower looks great, but it is not enough creative as a unit. I would have expected something like these : - Knight : reflects damage with his shield, favorite target : xbows - Firefighter (Mummy) : immune to fire or absorb fire from splash damage, vulnerable to physical damage. favorite target : inferno tower - Genie : immune to lighting, favorite target : tesla towers which heals them up - Elixir golem : multiply itself by absorbing elixirs (for decreased loot) favorite target : elixir containers - Wall runner : attacks from the wall as it runs around - Gardener : spikey plants and roots can spread on walls - Goblin catapult (as siege machine) : shots goblin behind walls Or something similar to give more strategic option. * * * Quality of life options : Legend league : 1. Make an option to quit with dropping 200 to 4800. 2. Let them make 4 armies : 8 attacks need 2 daily login New war : 1. copy previous war members 2. show previous war activity of each member
Hats of to supercell. One of the greatest strategic game in the history. Many games have been already not existing anymore but here is COC standing and still rocking.
The building with a crown logo on it is called "hero hall" and you can manage hero upgrades and skins and all of that and set which hero defends or attacks cause you can only battle with 4 heroes at once, the reason they add this is because the new hero "minion prince" is coming with this townhall

“The lab assistant will halve the time of upgrades” sorry Judo that’s not how that works. If you have a 16 day upgrade and use the max level assistant for 8 days in a row, you would only save 4 days considering it takes 12 hours off each time. If you use the assistant every day, you would complete a 16 day upgrade in approximately 10.66 days. If the assistant took off 24 hours each time, then it would be working at a speed of 2 days for every 1 real life day which would be double speed (or half time). Since it’s only 12 hours each day, that would be 1.5 days for every 1 real life day which is a 1.5x speed (or 2/3 time). Still a steal for sure, but “half time” is inaccurate. Hope this helps!!
slight correction: the laboratory assistant only cuts off 1/3 (33%) of the total time. For level 12, it boosts your lab by 12h every day, meaning you can progress 36h/24h, or with a factor of 1.5. So in order to complete an upgrade, you need 2/3 of the time, not 1/2.

To be honest I spent SO much time focused on learning the ins and outs of all of the new content that I didn’t really look at specific calculations for this as I just looked at it and didn’t think I needed to, apologies. The new firespitter sounds cool, will hopefully make blimp attacks more difficult. Also, they should probably nerf the revive spell by making it 3 housing space; bringing back a hero that your base spent a while bringing down should have a greater downside, especially with how important heroes are in attacks. It almost feels like they're giving the attacker too much leeway to make mistakes, especially in lower halls. This is especially since certain equipment give back health to the hero.
17:55 this is exactly what I think the best case scenario for the revive spell is going to be: letting a hero die off somewhere and then revive them much later in the attack so they aren't distracted by anything else

You can also use the hero spell to help with a brute force attack with the giant glove. You can use the king to ofc tank, but when he gets the giant ability, sometimes he goes down due to little health. May be a waste sure, but during that time. You can enlarge him, he goes down. You can use the spell to revive him mid giant size to get those extra couple seconds
Alrdy calling it! The new building is gonna be a hero related build because we saw the hero alters being changed, and it could be a new way to organise your heroes in battle!! Edit: it's gonna reduce the 4 hero alters giving them more space to add new stuff!!

2:01 I’m calling it right now the new building is a hero barracks where you can swap out heroes for your attacks since there will be a new hero there’s also something with how the heroes don’t have altars anymore and instead have banners witch you will probably be able to swap out
I honestly feel like we shouldve just merged our mortars with the town hall and kept the eagle. I’ll need to play the update to actually see, but it seems like you could easily overwhelm the firespitter since it can only pierce 1 target.

11:03 Thats's actually not true since with the lab assistant you complete 1d 12h worth of upgrades every 1d. That means your actual upgrade time is 2/3 of the original one. Still good speed up tho!
IMHO they should not have merged the TH and Eagle. They should've just kept it the same way and made the TH the way it is now. If the merging was to be done due to lack of space, then they should atleast keep the Eagle characteristic and its mechanics similar to that of the capital hall. The bomb also still should've stayed in the TH.
Small mistake with the Firespitter. It DOES lock on a target, however the bullets it shoots do not have auto aim. So it shoots where the troop is at the time, but the longer it is away, the more time the troop has to kind of dodge the bullets. But the tower itself does move while firing a burst.
@@FancyDark No. With the assistant, the upgrade will progress 24+12 hours each day. This is 3/2 days each day. The total time would be 2/3 of its original time, so if you have an upgrade that takes 12 days it will take 8 days with the assistant. That's a 4 day decrease or 33%.

I submitted a Spartan troop idea years ago when they did an idea contest, my idea was they would throw their spear and the spear would slow the defence down and they would then fight with their sword, they pick up their spear after the defence was destroyed, they also had a breakable shield and the spear has a chance of breaking too, so they would just turn into basically super barbs after they use up their spear and shield they jumped walls and targeted defences

I'm glad you can get the lab assistant right away. Because I'm trying to stop being a town hall rusher before I upgrade my town hall so I'm going to have to wait until town hall 17 which makes me happy that I can get the lab assistant right away. It makes my weight a little bit easier.
This is becoming Diablo immortal very quickly, we didnt learn from Clash Royale did we. So pay or lag behind. Cool. Also the fire spitter will reward spam attacks, not sure bout you but thats grown old very fast. I miss the old CoC, where skilled mattered.

I think the best use case for the revive spell would be funnel heroes. If you use the cahmpion or king just let them funnel and go down without using abilities, then after a while while you get into the center of the base revive them so they pincer the base without being under constant fire.

the revive spell would work MARVELOUSLY with the recall spell, you could technically do a double queen walk, after the queen goes down just recall her somewhere else that needs a clean up while the main army funnels throughout the base

As he pointed, you don't have to revive immediately, you choose when to revive, which can be crucial in most attacks, since at revival, you can keep them much more safer, also funneled to a certain area, and take down buildings that way. It will also help immensely in war attacks where you run out of timers and need those extra 5 secs.
You clearly haven't thought about how useful this spell is. It's quite probably the best spell in the game now.
The firespitter looks cool, but weak. Considering alot of the complaints around TH16 were that offence was too easy...to remove the eagle and add a signature defence that can hardly kill giants is actually wild...
Everything else is fine, but I'm really not a fan of upgrading the majestic, decorated, iconic and one of the most significant defenses, the Eagle Artillery, just so I can kill it for an underwhelming defense as opposed to the eagle. It's like if there's one defense I'd leave alone and not merge, it'd be the eagle. Who and why did Supercell think it'd be a great idea is beyond me! Did you speak to them about this, @JudoSloth?

@@JK47koliIf they keep doing this every year-year and a halfish like they plan on doing, there will be an overload of too many troops and too many spells. Yes it gives variety, but there is such thing as too much choice. Hell, 90% of the playerbase just spams edrags still after 9 years when there's literally dozens of other strategies. Just because a new troop is added, doesn't mean the vast majority of people will use it. On top of that, they're already running out of ideas for adding troops. The druid is just a giant and healer blended. Like Judo said, the thrower is just a wizard for higher THs. The last unique troop we had was titans and before that was edrags, which themselves have aspects of each other.

the revive spell will have a REALLY good use like you said in bk charging but also in bk outside cleanup like usually i just send him cleaning the outside for the funnel while having a barakes so now i can let him die and the save the boots and spiky ball for the inside as my attack moves in

I would like to point out the odds we get eagle back at a future TH are not 0. It's for sure pretty low if I had to take a guess but we never know what's gonna happen for those who aren't happy with that merge.

hi judo i noticed a calculation mistake at 11:04, since the lab assistant can speed up 12 hours a day, it means that it will reduce your upgrade time by 33% and not 50%. For example a 15 day upgrade will take 10 days with the help of the lab assistant (10 + 0.5x10), and not 7,5 days
Actually your calculation is wrong , its like 15 - 0.5 x 15 = 7.5 days .

@@dp_hridayan no, he is correct. An easier way to to think of it is that the lab naturally does 24 of research per day. The helper will do 12 hours of research per day. So, a total of 36 hours (or 1.5 days) of research will be done with both the lab and the helper. A 15 day upgrade would take 10 days with the lab and helper.

Thrower looks great, but it is not enough creative as a unit.
I would have expected something like these :
- Knight : reflects damage with his shield, favorite target : xbows
- Firefighter (Mummy) : immune to fire or absorb fire from splash damage, vulnerable to physical damage. favorite target : inferno tower
- Genie : immune to lighting, favorite target : tesla towers which heals them up
- Elixir golem : multiply itself by absorbing elixirs (for decreased loot) favorite target : elixir containers
- Wall runner : attacks from the wall as it runs around
- Gardener : spikey plants and roots can spread on walls
- Goblin catapult (as siege machine) : shots goblin behind walls
Or something similar to give more strategic option.

The building with a crown logo on it is called "hero hall" and you can manage hero upgrades and skins and all of that and set which hero defends or attacks cause you can only battle with 4 heroes at once, the reason they add this is because the new hero "minion prince" is coming with this townhall

“The lab assistant will halve the time of upgrades” sorry Judo that’s not how that works. If you have a 16 day upgrade and use the max level assistant for 8 days in a row, you would only save 4 days considering it takes 12 hours off each time. If you use the assistant every day, you would complete a 16 day upgrade in approximately 10.66 days. If the assistant took off 24 hours each time, then it would be working at a speed of 2 days for every 1 real life day which would be double speed (or half time). Since it’s only 12 hours each day, that would be 1.5 days for every 1 real life day which is a 1.5x speed (or 2/3 time). Still a steal for sure, but “half time” is inaccurate. Hope this helps!!

slight correction: the laboratory assistant only cuts off 1/3 (33%) of the total time. For level 12, it boosts your lab by 12h every day, meaning you can progress 36h/24h, or with a factor of 1.5. So in order to complete an upgrade, you need 2/3 of the time, not 1/2.

The new firespitter sounds cool, will hopefully make blimp attacks more difficult. Also, they should probably nerf the revive spell by making it 3 housing space; bringing back a hero that your base spent a while bringing down should have a greater downside, especially with how important heroes are in attacks. It almost feels like they're giving the attacker too much leeway to make mistakes, especially in lower halls.
This is especially since certain equipment give back health to the hero.
17:55 this is exactly what I think the best case scenario for the revive spell is going to be: letting a hero die off somewhere and then revive them much later in the attack so they aren't distracted by anything else

You can also use the hero spell to help with a brute force attack with the giant glove. You can use the king to ofc tank, but when he gets the giant ability, sometimes he goes down due to little health.
May be a waste sure, but during that time. You can enlarge him, he goes down. You can use the spell to revive him mid giant size to get those extra couple seconds

IMHO they should not have merged the TH and Eagle. They should've just kept it the same way and made the TH the way it is now.
If the merging was to be done due to lack of space, then they should atleast keep the Eagle characteristic and its mechanics similar to that of the capital hall. The bomb also still should've stayed in the TH.
Small mistake with the Firespitter. It DOES lock on a target, however the bullets it shoots do not have auto aim. So it shoots where the troop is at the time, but the longer it is away, the more time the troop has to kind of dodge the bullets. But the tower itself does move while firing a burst.

I submitted a Spartan troop idea years ago when they did an idea contest, my idea was they would throw their spear and the spear would slow the defence down and they would then fight with their sword, they pick up their spear after the defence was destroyed, they also had a breakable shield and the spear has a chance of breaking too, so they would just turn into basically super barbs after they use up their spear and shield they jumped walls and targeted defences
they would not work that hard
