Red Eared Slider: Turtle Heating and Lighting Guide

In this video, we discuss the importance and the need for heating and lighting for turtles in general but for Red Eared Sliders more specifically. Heat bulbs are very important for turtles to increase their body temperature. This helps these turtles increase body temperature and to digest the food that they have eaten. We also cover the topic of UVB bulbs and how it is necessary to provide a UVB bulb at the basking spot to prevent MBD and distortions to red eared slider shells. Lastly, we talk about water temperature for turtles and what temperature range is most comfortable for these Red Eared Sliders.

Turtles can actually climb pretty well. Im suprised he doesn't have more to block the surrounding to prevent escape

yes, but you need to be careful, they produce a lot of heat for wattage, and arent water or splash proof. if splashed they will shatter
