The project is less than 6 months old! There is not much point in saying that it has less features than freeCad, of course it has. I find it quite promising. ( Also you are probably the first person reviewing it on youtube )
This feels very unfair. I've been using Dune 3D recently and loving it. It's a great alternative to FreeCAD and SolveSpace. The clean and minimal UI is really nice for getting out of the way and letting me focus. What right do you have to call it "bad software" and "very limited" when you've only looked at for a couple of minutes? You don't even know what it can do.
Well I wasn't too impress my experience is ViaCAD 12, Blender 2.x 3.x 4.3 and Blender is free and my main go-to for 3D printing. I also tried Solid Edge, Fusion 360 (I don't trust AutoCAD) CMS IntelliCAD nice app with almost zero documentation. I tried plasticity and never got it to run, Rather buggy, too much $ for a one man show. I got a refund from BeckerCAD, old and outdated. Blender has the most power for the lowest cost, only a few add-ons needed for nice CAD. FreeCAD is just too hard to use, I really wanted FC to be my choice but can't stand it when compared to blender. Sorry I disappointed you on Dune maybe I revisit it after a new version or two. I liked Wings3D and MS Builder better than Dune.
Your take strikes me as unfair, the use-case for making this was quite specific: to import a STEP pcb and make an enclosure for it easily - with constraints between 2D/3D.
I like dune 3d. I made a few simple 3d prints with it already. In particular I like the STEP export.
