I see it exports to the dead vrml, but there is also "export to web". Can you try the "export to web"? is it X3D? viewable with standard browser?
I exported to web, files are at: wb9raa.com/Becker/
This feels very unfair. I've been using Dune 3D recently and loving it. It's a great alternative to FreeCAD and SolveSpace. The clean and minimal UI is really nice for getting out of the way and letting me focus. What right do you have to call it "bad software" and "very limited" when you've only looked at for a couple of minutes? You don't even know what it can do.
Well I wasn't too impress my experience is ViaCAD 12, Blender 2.x 3.x 4.3 and Blender is free and my main go-to for 3D printing. I also tried Solid Edge, Fusion 360 (I don't trust AutoCAD) CMS IntelliCAD nice app with almost zero documentation. I tried plasticity and never got it to run, Rather buggy, too much $ for a one man show. I got a refund from BeckerCAD, old and outdated. Blender has the most power for the lowest cost, only a few add-ons needed for nice CAD. FreeCAD is just too hard to use, I really wanted FC to be my choice but can't stand it when compared to blender. Sorry I disappointed you on Dune maybe I revisit it after a new version or two. I liked Wings3D and MS Builder better than Dune.
Professor, I would like to ask a question. I want to use the Zero 2 with an ESP32. I'm considering using the TX/RX connection of the Zero, but I would like to know what transmission logic the Zero 2 uses, 3.3V or 5V - LU5EDR
Hi LU5EDR The RigEx Zero-II runs on 5VDC and has an on board 3.3V regulator as I can find 3.3 volts on caps like C45 and Diode D1. The i2C signals never exceed 3.3V so I have to assume, when it drives the I2C Data it is 0-3.3V and not 0-5V. I could not find any specs on the new r old rigex web pages stating this but my ESP32 has been running for a year without issues. I assume if the I2C is o-3.3V that the TX/RX is also.
@@ProfessorVector Thank you very much for your prompt response; this information is useful for my project.
I also want to point out that I2C is faster and less code than Serial. You do not need a CRC table with I2C. These are the reasons I used it in my design.
Even though the ESP 32 is not 5v tolerance my friend and I have a relay board using an mcp-23017 and we could not get the resistor dividers to divide the 5 volts I2C signals to 3.3 volts so we just ran them right into the Chip and that's been working for months. I think internally there's maybe a lot of current on the input I/O because the signal is clamping at 3.3 volts not good for the chip but it is functioning. Info fwiw !
@@ProfessorVector Thank you very much again! I had also thought about using a resistive divider as an alternative. Best regards and 73
If I may remark, could you try and be more aware of what your lens is actually capturing? I find myself suppressing the urge to scroll up where there is nothing to scroll up to.
Yes, I know, I was in a rush and it came out bad I should reshoot it. But The $30 test caused me to buy a wonderful Penn State Industries KWL-1218vs for $465 that I really like a lot.
@@ProfessorVector OK, now I am jealous, as I await the delivery of that piece of crap you made this video about.

If not this then what would you recommend?
I have bought ViaCAD well worth the $150 ask for discounts if you buy get the demo try it. It is Not Parametric. I bought CMS Intellicad because it is more like AutoCAD but has almost zero documentation. I regret it and never use it. Blender 3D ver 4.2 has been free and continues to be free. It's not really CAD but with the add-ons it's super powerful, a bit non-standard but does what almost nothing else can do, and exports STL quite well for 3D printing. That the Paid and Free paths of my recommendations. See Jonathan from MakerTales he has good Blender tutorials. I hope you are liked and subscribed. I have some more CAD, Laser etching pump, Lathe just bought a new one few weeks ago, and ideas on Precsion videos for the channel. Thanks for asking and please do let me know how your journey goes in the CAD area.

BTW. All pcb sold out. But Gerber files are available in the file download
Your take strikes me as unfair, the use-case for making this was quite specific: to import a STEP pcb and make an enclosure for it easily - with constraints between 2D/3D.

Yes Sir, Happy Sabbath? Just "messing around" with Becker CAD this morning, figured out how to make a hole. 1st draw a 3D block, which you showed, thanks, then make a cylinder, position the cylinder inside the block, and subtract out the cylinder, it works. I've had Becker CAD for two years now, and have made more progress in the last 1/2 day than ever, there's hope after all, thanks again? May God bless, please? Yay Yay Yay Yay
Thank you Sir, but do you know how to change it for Architecture, or Electronics, please?
No but I'll look into next week

Thank you, I asked God, in Lord Jesus is the Christs' name for the Becker CAD Tutorial, please? I had Via Cad 14, and I like it, Becker CAD, I'm struggling with
Yes Becker is a disappointment. I'll see what I can do with scripting.
This is such a great alternative to the AAZero2 with the screen, simple and you can easily use AntScope, think version 1.2.6 is the latest version that works, but easy to use and great results you can screenshot, thanks for your contributions to the community

3 months without any comments? Well, I appreciate the effort. I work in decimal inches preferably, metric because some of my clients do. I hope this option gets integrated.
Important is, you need real small and sharp wood turning tools. The wood must cut and not scratch with the chisel.
TH-cam doesn't seem to like my paragraph style comments, tried a few versions, unsure what is preventing me from commenting.
Keep trying
Just got my build working, few struggles along the way learning about user error 😄, now for some testing, what a great project this is amazing, thanks Ed..
I fixed the Error01 thru Error03 and updates the Errors page see wb9raa.com/AAZ-II/Errors/ So all errors are in one page now Thanks for pointing this out... I think we need a MAIN AAZERO-II project page as there are several videos with various comments splatter about. Comments on the main page idea?
Having a few problems I'm working through. I'm struggling to find flashing instructions for the Rigexpert Zero 2, your readme file refers this video. Is it done through the SWD port or USB, I get the ESP32 programmed, AAZ PCB all built up, and I get Initialising I2C Master in serial monitor and nothing on LCD, perhaps got the wrong one. I also get GPIO error compiling AAZ sketch and the readme is confusing, do I need to edit some lines?
To reflash the aazero2 you need to move the jumper for power The lcd driver library is included as I had to modify gpio lines It's hard coded in his library not Parameters I believe the libraries has some warnings. I will look in detail later today.

@@ProfessorVector I added comments but didn't seem to post, Ill paste it into a new comment, had fun using this today and scanned a couple antennas.
Sad news regarding MFJ, perhaps prices will go up on the older used equipment, on a side note, Rigexpert Zero 2 on sale right now, snagged 3 with free shipping, for the AAZ-II build. Thanks for your videos excited for more updates
You're welcome keep us posted on your project progress.
Dx engineering and Gigaparts both have the aazero2 on sale for $70 and $64.
I like dune 3d. I made a few simple 3d prints with it already. In particular I like the STEP export.
Good day and 73 from Canada Thank you Ed and Robert Messaging to show my support and gratitude for your amazing contribution to the community, this project is greatly appreciated and surprisingly unnoticed I am no expert and I am much a hobbyist but my extensive experience with circuit board rework and novice design and programming can recognize how much work has gone into this project I would like to contribute where possible, I have a lot of passion for projects I can use in my life and need a nudge to continue my education. I have a good network of people up here in West Canada and would like to see where this project can go Just need to find a source for some AAZero2 in Canada and the rest is pretty straightforward once you're ready with the final release for us to take over. Keep me in mind as an asset in Canada to continue getting this project polished for the ham community, with thoughts of kits, 3D printing, documentation and improvements Any planned updates in the near future before I order boards? Greg VE7GGH
Great project for the community Ed, I'm so excited to build one and see this project soar Hello from Canada
Why would you turn such a big piece of wood on such a small lathe? Obviously it is made for hobbies soft woods maybe jewelry turning, finishing thats the reason for all the small sandpaper, you cant get into the drag races with a go cart! SMH
It's wood only so wooden jewelry, never thought of that. I guess pine soft wood. Thanks for the idea.
@@ProfessorVector I use it with a ring mandrel to make and sand metal inlay rings. Works great on low but there is a guy on Etsy who makes mods for these things including speed controllers if you want to go under 4000rpm.
The project is less than 6 months old! There is not much point in saying that it has less features than freeCad, of course it has. I find it quite promising. ( Also you are probably the first person reviewing it on youtube )
OK good point I'll keep an eye on it
Thanks so much for posting this
I found that BeckerCAD 3D Pro is a rebranded DataSolid CADdy++ Basic 2019. Telltale signs of that were a prominent CADdy++ label in the title bar of the main window, a DataSolid logo at the bottom of the screen. It is a non parametric editor with a python scripting language. The lowest price I seen is from Soft Maker in Germany for US $17.95 I think for 3D printing Blender with the CAD Sketcher free add on is better. For 2D look at open office fork Libre CAD for free.
finely i found someone with this program that speak English i got 12 and 14 pro i know a little something from a guy that speak German i just follow what his dose and thats how i been getting by with this awesome program
But my friend got a refund. We decided to learn Blender It's the most powerful free modeler there is. I quote Jonathan from Maker tales, it's not a hard road but it's a long one. Each add-on works with a unique set of key strokes. Thanks for subscribing.
