Fantastic honest review, glad Amazon honoured your warranty, very lucky. A bit rude that other you tubers couldn't give a fellow you tuber an honest review. Love the shirt by the way
I have had this head unit in my 4runner for two years now and I love it. Mine is running android 10 and have very little issues. Big improvement over the kinda embarrassing factory system. Just my two cents.
Look up Heigh 10 Stinger head unit. I have 1 in my tacoma and my 4 runner. A little pricey but its top notch. Everyone wants to spend less and get more. This headunit is flawless and works like an OEM headunit.
Thanks for this video mate, ive been considering upgrading my head unit on a 2011 mitsubishi pajero and seen all good reviews on you tube on the cheaper version im looking at. But ive been holding back on it because its common for the cheaper tech items to glitch with no explanation or reason. Its good you got a refund on your unit. Look forward to seeing what you finally install, cheers
@NathanKingOverland I have the vivid 11, I bought directly from desaita. I've been lucky with it. Also make sure your antena is on tightly for wifi. It can loosen up easily if not tightened correctly. Only thing I did to it was I bought an adapter so I use my vehicles GPS antena instead of the provided one.
Car play uses the hotspot feature on the head unit which means you can’t connect to a different Wi-Fi network. I have to turn my phone off because CarPlay will automatically reconnect
Do you have any problems with the camera views or basic stuff like Sirius XM or is it just with CarPlay? I really don't use CarPlay much and don't connect to wifi from my truck.
Camera views were fine. I didn’t use XM at all. However, stand by. Dasaita sent me an updated version to review and in checking it out now. It works much better.
Thanks for the review Nathan! When you were having the Carplay disconnect issue, was that over wireless Carplay, or was your phone plugged in over USB? I have heard of lots of issues with wireless Carplay (over bluetooth) even on OEM systems.
Both! I couldn’t get things to stay connected either way. Recently in vacation with my parents I rented a minivan that had OEM wireless CarPlay and it worked seamlessly. 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for watching!
I have been researching many different head units to upgrade. I cannot find something that does not have a few bugs. So far I am just staying with the OEM version.
I’m trying to get rid of my oem because of Nathan’s problem. It constantly shuts off. I have turn it back on. It’s one of the reasons to move on. Toyota did us an injustice on the early models. 2015 should have gotten decent head units.
I have a similar problem with an alpine ilxw650e unit I used to to upgrade my 76 land cruiser poverty unit, great unit for blue tooth and audio , but using apple car play and using the mapping is completely useless it pixelates so you cant use the screen and locks up , updated many times with no success very frustrating I paid extra for the alpine name but to only be disappointed , not sure what to do next after spending my hard earned cash! They all seem to have glitches! thanks for the honest review
It was definitely faulty. And I did return it. And then they contacted me to send me their latest updated version. I did a review on that too. Check it out.
13:37 Did you find if there is any Toyota infotainment system that works for your 4 runners? I have a 2014 limited 4runner and need to change my infotainment system to reliable and original Toyota parts.
I'm catching this video about 8 months after you made it. What have you ended up with? I have a 21 ORP And I am not that amazed with the head unit that's in it. I also have a 2019 Hyundai Tucson and the head unit in that completely blows The Toyota head unit out of the water. Out of all the models of vehicles that Toyota has, I can't believe that they can't make a really good head unit that goes into multiple models
Hey. Thanks for watching! Dasaita reached out to me with an updated model and gave me a chance to review it. They’ve corrected the issues I had with it. It’s fantastic now. They have units for other vehicles. Here’s the remote I did of the updated unit. Replacement Stereo for 4Runner with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for 5th Gen 4Runner th-cam.com/video/GhxM6CK9Bx8/w-d-xo.html
That is an Android car play radio. It's really designed for Android Auto. Apple carplay is just a connection. And then my opinion Apple carplay always has issues with a lot of units.
Whats a good solution for those of us who don't want all the zoomer tier shit in our vehicles like big screens and touchpads? I'm looking for something a little more analog
I also Believe that the price of the unit is ridiculously expensive, there’s a Sony product that looks more promising although it’s not stylish like the dasaita is , thank you for the review , was considering getting one for my 17 sr5
@@NathanKingOverland Just posted a link of the Sony head unit I was referring to , it’s mostly plug and play but I believe the Dasaita looks much better
I agree. I had so many annoying bugs. And then I had a default setting upon install that I could not figure out how to disable. An annoying female voice would non stop tell me that I was exceeding the speed limit. This was a default “feature.” The person who decided this should be a feature needs to lose his/her job. Gone back to OEM for now.
Ohh no ...... Used to think you were cool... But now I find out that not only are you a Toyota guy but a APPLE device fan too. I'm sorry I can't ..... So head unit or just apple tec refusing to talk to anything else?

Thanks Sean! Such is life.
Glad you like the shirt! It cracks me up.
Yes I love the shirt.. where can I get one ?
Just purchased the G13 version and it's the way to go.
Nice!
I’ve been happy with mine! Check out my serving video on the subject.
Thanks for your review. I think a lot of times, we just get an initial review and no follow up assessments. I will look at other available options.
You bet. Check out my latest video. Dasaita made some improvements. The latest version works great!
Can't believe it's already been two years. Seems like just yesterday you were bringing that beast down my street to give me the tour! :D
Oh how time flies…
Thanks for watching!
I have had this head unit in my 4runner for two years now and I love it. Mine is running android 10 and have very little issues. Big improvement over the kinda embarrassing factory system. Just my two cents.

Yep. Sometimes those things look beautiful in the marketing photos, but real life is a different story.
Thanks for watching!
I've got a T10 head unit to install. It's been in my garage for a few months. Need to get to it one of these days ha ha!
Oooooooo…
Let me know how it does. I might be interested in it.
Thanks for watching!
Gimmie it
Finally!! Someone had to say it!!! thanks 🙏🏼
🤷🏻♂️ It just doesn’t work right.
I have the same exact headunit for 1.5 years and have 0 issues with it.
Crazy. Dasaita actually emailed me about an updated version 12 and I’ll be trying that one out soon.

Interesting. I missed that in the instructions.
Only down side is not being a Diesel. My GPS is so out dated and no CarPlay or Android.
🤷🏻♂️
I have a brand new double din universal Dasaita head unit and it is having the same wifi disconnect issue. When it happens, BT disconnects too.
So frustrating. It’s a slick looking device with lots of cool features, just not dependable.

Rely 100% on what Nathan King says on YT for all my purchases! Got it! 😂 😂😂Thanks for the good honest review.
I didn’t say that! You may end up with a rum and brisket habit. 😂

Awesome review been seeing these Dasaita 4Runner headunit reviews all over TH-cam. Hard pass for me, thanks for sharing your experience.
Glad it was helpful!
I would definitely not recommend it.
So what head unit did you recommend? I have a 2015 forerunner
I have the 11 and it’s great!
I bought a dasaita head unit for my cx-5. My only gripe is my wireless connection through z-link. It's a pain in the arse
Glad yours is better.
Thanks for watching!
you can upgrade to the new oem system there a few wiring kits for sale. but the oem head unit is super expensive.
Just got a 23 ORP. Shame they couldn't upgrade for this year... just put a new year on lol. How much was the unit?
Thanks! I heard they were pretty high Dollar.

Still looking. There’s a way to install the z infotainment system from a 2022 to my rig, but it’s pricey to do. All in about $2K.

i appreciate your honest review but i was considering the same thing. I definitely do not want to purchase something with gremlins as well.
I really wish it had been fantastic. But sadly, it was not. Thanks for watching.
By the way, the only 4runner component made in China is the OEM radio. That's a fact.
Interesting. Check out my latest video. Dasaita has redeemed themselves with the latest unit.
Whats a good solution for those of us who don't want all the zoomer tier shit in our vehicles like big screens and touchpads? I'm looking for something a little more analog
I’m still looking myself. If you Google head units for your rig, you’ll see lots of options.
