  • Liz Cheney recently has been campaigning for Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential contest against Donald Trump and some folks on the left are quite upset about this. Kyle Kulinski shares his opinion which I break down in this video.

Their advisor told them to stop saying "we're not going back" and stop calling the Republicans "weird" when clearly those slogans are popular. Walz was doing amazing on news interviews before he was picked and right after. Suddenly he stopped appearing on shows, and someone chopped his balls off before the debates. What happened to him? He was a different person.
      Also, if you keep repeating "Israel has a right to defend itself" and "we have to get a ceasefire deal, we've been working around the clock" when clearly that's not happening, it's really disappointing and deflating to those who were hoping she'd be different than Biden, but unfortunately, she is just a younger version of him. I completely agree with everything you said. The fact that the Cheney's are not only voting for a Democrat, but out campaigning for one I think makes a point to a lot of moderates and old school conservatives that the Republican Party under Trump is so far gone that it would be better for like-minded old school conservatives to vote for Kamala. Having the Cheney's out campaigning for you is another way of saying that it's gotten so insanely bad on the other side that even people who formerly were held up as the opposition are now with us.
    Plus yeah, like you say, these online extremely leftists like Brianna Joy Gray have zero intention of ever voting for Kamala. They only want to virtue signal and complain. They don't care about securing material gains at all. Their minds are poisoned into thinking both sides are equally evil or at least both so evil that you can't justify voting for either one. In their mind, anyone a bit less than perfect in their eyes is irredeemably bad and not worth voting for. There is no point in pouring resourcing into trying to change their minds. Trying to go for moderates who may prefer Trump on certain policies like economic and tax policies but who can't stand his anti-democratic rhetoric and actions is much more likely to bear fruit. I actually have family members who are exactly this type of voter. I have family members who are much more Mitt Romney/Adam Kinzinger/John Kasich types, but will be voting for Harris because they think Trump is an authoritarian who has no knowledge of foreign policy. These are the types of voters that will hold their nose and vote for a Democrat this time and aren't as unreasonable as the far left is acting right now.

It honestly reminds me of trump: like me and i praise you. Nothing about what Dick Cheney did in office was democratic. But for us, it speaks to a larger symptom of capitulation to the right that we find unnecessary. You disagree that it is, but that's our POV - that there is a broad base of support on the left being left in the cold in favor of support for a genocide, capitulation to the right on the border issue, and inclusion of people like CBP guards and tech billionaires *on stage* at the DNC while a Palestinian-American who wanted to endorse her was not allowed to speak. I think to save democracy, Kamala Harris needs to unify as much of the nation as humanly possible. That is what it's about. And honestly, in this moment, it's the right choice. Trump divided us. To defeat Trump we must unify as many Americans from as many political factions as possible. Moderate Republicans are a devoted voting block so I back her in this attempt 100%. Her pick of Tim Walz as VP was her way to communicate to us that she's not actually moving right. She's only doing what's called for in the moment... unifying a divided nation.

  • @ChirpingMatt
    @ChirpingMatt 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

    On the point of progressives upset that Kamala isn't going far enough left, here's where I stand:
    I also live and vote in California, possibly THE safest blue state in the country. Knowing that, I voted Howie Hawkins in 2020 (Green Party). Because I was disgusted by how the establishment neoliberal democrats rallied around Joe Biden in the primary, in a blatantly transparent "Anyone but Bernie Sanders" move. And I was just in general displeased with their candidate BEING a status quo establishment neoliberal.
    But here's the thing: I was very mindful about what message I was trying to send with my vote. Which in 2020 was "The less of a lock California becomes for the Democrats, the (hopefully) more likely they'll realize they need to come further left or lose their base."
    But in 2024, I fully intend to vote Kamala Harris. By picking Tim Walz as her VP and supporting what he accomplished in Minnesota, supporting anti-price gouging policies, and supporting higher child tax credits, she has shown me that she is a noticeable step to the left of Biden. Would she have been my first choice to replace Biden? Absolutely not. Has she come far enough left to meet me where I personally stand on policy? Far from it.
    But I am going to vote for her, because the message of my vote this year is "I like that she's a step further left. DO THAT MORE, PLEASE."
    (Side note: If you or anyone you know ever considers not voting because they don't like either the Democrats or Republicans, encourage them to at least vote third party. Neither party will care about people not voting, because they think you don't care. Both parties will notice if millions vote third party, and will consider what they can do to get your vote next time.)

    Meanwhile, you've done a poor job of explaining how/why there are large numbers of Republicans whose votes might be tipped toward Harris the other way, and specifically tipped by the Cheney endorsements. The one thing I completely disagree on is her failure to court Muslim American voters, who make up a significant portion of the Democratic base, especially in a swing state like Michigan. This is a chunk of solidly blue voters that will only be more likely to stay home with Kamala touting a Cheney endorsement. So, while I don't necessarily think the solution is to ignore the Cheney endorsement, she clearly needs to do more to distance herself from Biden's policy around Gaza. Whether right or wrong, a country is most likely going to keep supporting a needed ally, and if both candidates are going to maintain the status quo, I believe it’s important to consider which one actually calls for a two state solution. I mean, at this point with Iran attacking Israel it’d be a pretty destabilizing impact to the entire Middle East to cut all military aid to Israel. But also, I totally get that Netanyahu has been running a genocidal campaign from the get go. I mean, I don’t support the war in Gaza but the issue is such a grey area and I feel like any action taken is a damned if you do, damned if you don’t kind of deal. I mean, hamas is a literal terrorist organization. Iran supports numerous terrorist organizations. So basically, I just think it’s such a geopolitically complex issue and at the end of the day, Kamala and Biden are pushing for a cease-fire, Kamala is calling for a two state solution, and there’s no way Trump would solve this issue any better considering he fully supported Israel in his term

    Okie dokie youngster you have earned a new (old, lol) subscriber. I really like your content and your takes on the republican/Cheney effect…Good instincts you have there imo…I’m a former Republican and a huge Bernie supporter now…Best wishes
