    Hey Doug! This video was very helpful as I have two X200s in a Carvin Legacy 3 cab that I am running an Axe3 stereo driving the speakers using an ART SLA-2. The sound was subpar to my studio monitors until I applied the low cut filters. Sounds so much better now! Thanks again

      Hey Anthony - sorry for the S-L-O-W reply - I don't get automatic notifications on these videos. AWESOME, great to hear - thanks for the taking the time to say so!!! Cheers ~ Doug:)

    Great work Doug! Next up Kemper stage? How about a mix of a 4x12 cab, and a 1x12 cab. Should the 4x12 cab have a selector "wired properly" to run 4 ohm and 8 when needed? I have a seymour 700 on order. How about runing a 1x12 friedman 16 ohm cab with a 4x12 cab? wet/dry 3 cabs? Were out of control Senator of soul, governor of rocl'n'roll.

      Hey Ronald - LOVE your enthusiasm - sorry for the slow reply - I was out of town at a guitar camp and Summer NAMM! Next video will go live soon, no Kemper I'm afraid, but there will be some 4x12 and 1x12 action, but not at the same time. Did you get your 700 yet? The interesting thing about that power amp is there is no impedance selector, so as long as everything is phase coherent, life should be good. Also, I keep the 'stock' single / stereo in jack plate on my newer Marshall cabs, so there is no impedance selection point there as well (but you knew that)! Cheers ~ Doug;)

    I would be interest in a 10" that would pair up well with the F12-X200. Possibly even a bass speaker, doesn't need to be FR. Any thoughts?

    Dang it. Now I feel like I have to buy a pair of F12M-150s to pair up with my F12-X200s. It never ends!

      @@cipherhost CHRIS, so sorry for the slow reply. I need to level all the presets and was hoping to do that this week, hence the radio silence. I'll go my best to get these up next week. THANKS for your message, hope this reply finds you well. CHEERS ~ Doug;)

    Can you describe the difference in sound between these (I have an f12-x200 on the way) in a Thiele cab vs the Celestion spec'ed/designed cab?

    Hi Doug ! Here in Santiago Chile the X200 is the only available. I have to build my own cabinet. But I dont know if ist better to build the cabinet with bass reflex or not? Help please,,,,

    • @CelestionUK
      @CelestionUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to extend the bass further below that of a regular guitar speaker, then build a cab with bass reflex. If not, then any good quality guitar cab will work for you. :)

    Hi Doug, are these designed, for instance with my Fractal FXIII to be used as basic FRFR Speaks? So I would still use/add a cabinet in my (Marshal plexi preset) chain correct?--I guess when you don't have a cab in your preset you get no sound...(YEA I THINK YOU JUST ANSWERED THAT LATER IN THE VIDEO, YOU DO HAVE CABS IN YOUR PRESET CHAIN) Would you use these out of a different output (for your backline) and the main out to FOH? I have a few cabs laying around, Fender 1x12, Boogie open back 1x12, I'd like to try these out with a stereo solid state for my onstage stereo set up.

    I wondering now, that we have firmware 21.00, if the low cut should have lower settings or just left to 20 Hz, like it is as default

    I have an older Tech 21 Power Engine that I use with my boss gt 100 and amplitube 5. It does ok but was wondering how one of these speakers would work out for me? I know I have to use cab sims and ir's which is fine.
    What's anyone's thoughts on this? The stock speaker is 12" Seventy 80. Some use the evl or whatever its called.

    Great videos, question I have when putting them in a 2x12 or 4x12. Do you need anything to power them? Like in monitors ?

    Which speaker would sound better to run a Vox AC30 Blue Bulldog emulation ?

    • @CelestionUK
      @CelestionUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The intention is that they are both neutral sounding, so you could use either. I wouldn't say that one speaker was necessarily "better" than the other, but the X200 does have a wider bandwidth, so if there's any high treble signal in your emulation that you need to reproduce, the X200 is likely the better option for you.

    I wonder, if the results would be even better with a tube power amp instead of the Power Stage 700.

    • @justinTime077
      @justinTime077 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I’ve had better results using solid state in my tests. I’m not that guy, either. I am all about tubes. It’s just that the axe already knows what it’s doing. Seems to me that despite intuitively trying to add tube authenticity to it, it just fucks up what the axe does on its own.

  • @plant30

    Why do you demo something that is conceived to be flat response into tube power amplifiers with a lot of tone coloration?
    Why don't you use some class d power amplifier such as the Seymour Duncan stuff?
    I mean the whole digital modeling world allows you to get rid of the unreliability of tubes and you try this kind of things with tube amps? Come on!

      If you get a cool biased very high headroom tube power amp like a Fryette Power station, the coloring is almost non-existent and sounds more natural and lively than something like a Powerstage
