I rewound a few times figuring I somehow missed it. Such a classic scene that has you totally on the edge of your seat, knowing all the while that with Tommy’s temper, you could be dead in an instant if he takes offense at anything you said.
FAIL.
Don’t forget Marty’s mob classic, “Casino” with DeNiro and Pesci also. Brutal!!!!!!❤
Henry Hill testified against Paul Vario (named Paul Cicero in the film) in two different trials in 1984 and 1985.
The 1990 film “My Blue Heaven”, starring Steve Martin, is based on Henry Hill’s life after entering the witness protection program.
The screen writer of My Blue Heaven is the wife of the screenwriter of Goodfellas.
After Henry realized Jimmy was going to have him whacked, he made up his mind right there of flipping. He relaxed and decided to have one last meal with his old friend.
If you think that Joe Pesci were wild in this one, just wait until you see "Casino".. he's of the hook with Pacino and I really think that Kevin wouldn't survive that.. :'P

Yes, you're accurate. The Gambino Family is the one John Gotti eventually became the boss of.
Edit: The guy with the nice fro, who they found frozen in the meat truck was in "The Godfather part II" with De Niro. He played Vito's best friend, Genco, whom he named his olive oil company after.
There is a rumor that Gotti himself was the one who killed Tommy DeSimone, the guy played by Joe Pesci.
John Gotti was specifically the guy who was looking for Billy Batts. Sammy The Bull told that story from the Gambino perspective in an interview a few years ago. John and Billy were very good friends.
Devil's Advocate is a really good movie as well. You won't be disappointed with that one either.
Wolf of Wall Street, Casino, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull are some more Scorsese classics!

The only issue with the movie is that Henry Hill NEVER walked through the side door at the Copa. ONLY made guys could do that, and Henry couldn't be made.

I applauded right along with you at the end, that was beuatiful. I know how you feel. That's exactly how the entire audience felt when the lights came up, back in '90, in the theatre. This movie is like a great meal! DEFINITELY hit "Casino", which Scorsese, De Niro, Pesci and some of the other actors did a few years later.....it's practically a sequel: "Goodfellas Goes To Vegas". Just as great as this one, totally classic. GREAT reaction, man!!!! THANK YOU!!!! What a great way to end the weekend!

Almost all the best parts are completely edited out of this reaction. You’ll probably gain allot more Patreon subs by putting in the best parts here and making people really enjoy your reaction. As others are saying, you gotta hit "Casino" next. Another true story directed by Scorsese starring De Niro and Pesci. It is another great gangster flick about the rise and fall of the real life Stardust (Tangiers in the movie) casino.
A wee fact....the actress who played Tommys mum was actually Martin Scorsese's mum.

This movie is so authentic that that FBI agent who was talking to Henry and Karen was not an actor. That was the REAL FBI agent who was in charge of Henry Hill’s case.
This movie and The Godfather trilogy I loved because of my Italian heritage. My peeps! Did the ancestry thing and learned I'm Scottish...

Goodfellas is my second favorite movie on my top 5 movies. I just love this film. Jimmy died in prison in 1996.
There are only two movies that I know I can watch over & over & over again without ever getting tiered of seeing them. It's Goodfellas and its The Good, the Bad & the Ugly.
Just so you know when Henry is telling us the names of the Wise guys that were sitting at the bar. Well one of them was Michael Franzese and he now has a youtube channel and even did a video about the movie. If this stuff intrest you I would recommend you check it out.
One of my absolute favorite movies ever. I used to watch this with my dad after my parents got divorced. We'd either make or order italian food and watched it. My dads a flawed guy but this definitely is a comfort film because it gives me some positive memories with the old man.

2 great mob movies that no one reacts to are 2010's "Kill the Irishman" (AKA "Bulletproof Gangster") starring the late Ray Stevenson, Vincent D'onofrio, Val Kilmer, Linda Cardalini and Christopher Walken... and 2012's "The Iceman" starring Michael Shannon, Chris Evans, Winona Ryder and the late Ray Liotta.

the real tommy (tommy desimone ) was much more insane then the way joe pesci portayed him in this movie. he shot and kiiled a man walking because he wanted to try out a new gun he had.
There's another movie that is "very loosely" based on his life after he went into witness protection. Unfortunately, it's a comedy with Steve Martin, called My Blue Heaven.

This movie is definitely on my top 10 of all time. If you haven't yet, please watch Casino. A ton of the same actors in this movie is in that movie. Great reaction dude. Loved it. I kinda wished you didn't cut out the whole "Shine box" scene and the scene where Pesci was giving Liotta crap about him being funny. Other than that, great vid.

The Godfather is an absolute classic but it's not a very accurate portrayal of the Mob. Goodfellas is a lot closer to the truth.
Please consider Mean Streets (Martin Scorsese) , The Pope of Greenwich Village (Mickey Rourke) & The Drop. (Tom Hardy).

As close to Gangsta as you can get. True Story as well. The roles were reversed with Henry and Tommy. Henry was actually short and ugly and Tommy D was tall and good looking and a fuckn nut as well. I'm originally from Bensonhurst Brooklyn Bathe Avenue, the stomping ground of the Mob. Was a big deal to us when this flick came out. Good ol dayz.

The lady that played Joe Pesci"s mom is actually Martin Scorsese's mom and that part was all ad-lib they had no lines they all just came up with lines on the spot talk about talent. Another iconic scene you missed.

For me its Leon the Professional out of that list, that's one of my favorite movies as a kid. whats funny about Goodfellas is that i first saw it in highschool and one of my best friends dad worked for Lufthansa at the time before it went under, cool coincidence :D
Fun fact: The newspaper that Henry picks up at the very end of the movie is The Youngstown Vindicator. Youngstown, Ohio was a BIG mob city at one time. My mother grew up on the West side. Her neighbor a street over received a "Youngstown Tune-Up" (a car bomb)!

I can say I did not hate Dances with wolves the first time I watched it, but I can say I have zero desire to watch again, and it felt long. Long movies are fine as long as you don’t mind and it does not feel long. Plus, Kevin Costner having an Oscar for directing before Marty was enough to discredit the whole organization
