    That's exactly why I play assasins creed games. For the HISTORY. I'm almost 50 years old and I still play these games as soon as they launch. As long as I still have my sight and able to play I always will. It's a history lesson in every game. I hope to play many more in the future

    I can already tell the soundtrack will be magical in this one. Say what you want about Ubisoft but they always, ALWAYS, nail the atmosphere and the soundtrack. Huge Origins vibes too, and I have a lot of nostalgia from that one so this is a great gift.

    Baghdad is (Madinat Al Salam) the city of peace!
    The city of math, philosophy, algebra, physics, chemistry, literature and poetry!

    I love how the map looks. How it looks almost drawn from higher above, but gains more depth almost becoming sculptural as you zoom in. That's such a lovely artistic touch to a feature that's often treated functionally only.

      yea i feel like what witcher 3 did was making everything mysterious and origin made things magical in the same way
      but odyssey and valhalla didnt hit the mark as well.

    I honestly cannot wait for the Medieval Middle East again. Loved it in Assassin's Creed, Revelations, and now in Mirage. The desert is such a universal vibe.

    Being someone who loves history this one of many reasons why I love AC games. When I play AC Origins and go in the tombs of the pyramids you see all the gifts they bring to the after life. If you look it up you will see how ubisoft decorated the tombs exactly how they really were. The attention to detail is amazing. I'm so looking forward to mirage to go play in Baghdad!

    It’s actually how games are able to maybe give us the closest experience to actually being in a historical wonder like Baghdad. Especially Assassin’s Creed. The fact that they added the Adhan is Amazing.

      Valhalla had a behind the scenes for the musicians in charge of the ost, and that alone made me buy it. Didn't make up for the gameplay, but still was a decent game.

      @@kishirisu1268 They have to change many things due to the game. But you can learn the real history from the codex entries. Their recent games cared less for the history and there was no functional codex, but it seems they are trying to get back to the roots this time.
      And it works. If someone plays the Ezio Trilogy, reads through the codex and watches the related short movies, it will be like reading a hundred page book on the Renaissance.

      Moroccan, but it pains me to see moroccan zellige (tiles) in the game. They took a lot of moroccan craftsmanship into the game. And that's far from accurate. But the atmosphere seems good

    The genuine amount of passion the developers put into this game is astounding, everything from the culture, the city, the colors, soundtrack and even story look so interesting. If only they had more time to improve the parkour it can actually be a Top 3 easily imo. Nonetheless i’m extremely excited we are getting a true Assassin’s Creed game again.

    I’m new to the assassins creed series. So far I’ve beaten Odyssey & Origins, and I’m about 60 hrs into Valhalla. I’m not a huge gamer but I love history. The graphics and attention to detail is amazing in these games. Ubisoft does a great job of bringing history to life and I appreciate the effort they put into re creating the environment as accurately as possible. I’m sure Mirage won’t disappoint!

    its really refreshing seeing the dev team talk through the progress like previous ac games. Because we can hear their geniune interest and care that they seem to be putting into the game. I just hope all that they say is true

    Just by watching the first trailer, I could tell immediately it was Abbasid-era Baghdad. The city design and character costumes were very accurate.

    God damn, they are showing so much. With this and the early release, You can tell they are confident. I’m getting excited about it!
    On another note, I’m glad the devs are bringing back the codex, I hope it will help to make a clearer cut between the fictional and the historical, allowing for truly learning while we play, something that heavily bothered me in the RPGs.

    Finally, I got to see our history presented in the game I love. 🇸🇦
    Abbasid caliphate were a very important kingdom in our Arabian history that founded Baghdad and made it as a capital. It's truly wonderful to see it re-created.

    There seems to be a lot more genuine passion for this. Like, releasing a week early compared to skull and bones delays shows a LOT of confidence in this and seeing people who worked on it excitedly talk about the different stuff they worked on was nice

      I remember a place in AC2 where you get up to a vantage point and the moon shines above the sea, then a soothing plucking of harp is played. I would stay awestruck for minutes to half an hour watching the scene.

      ​@@xottic.brotherhood I'm not an Arab, but a Pakistani Muslim. Adhan is the Muslim call to prayer from mosques. Essentially telling you it's prayer time. Happens 5 times a day and is based on the position of the Sun in the sky.

    I’m so hyped for this game! Assassin’s Creed Mirage is going to be epic. The 9th-century Baghdad is such a rich and vibrant world to explore, and I love how they recreated it with so much detail and authenticity. The combat, the stealth, and the parkour are all smooth and fluid. This is the Assassin’s Creed game we have always wanted !

    The Industrail District of Harbiyah in how they describe the setting really sounds similar to countries like Bangladesh as I have been there, so many beggers (mostly elderly and some children) try to scrape a living and sadly, the markets ive been to, its really dense and has a grim feeling to it.

    The “Beyond Baghdad” content is what I came to see. I was so afraid this game would go back to the old games where we were stuck in just a big city. Glad there’ll still be biomes to explore.

    Being from the middle east the Abbasid era was part of my high school curriculum and the stories that spawned from that time period are like nothing I've ever read or heard.
    If this game can capture even half of that mystique it would open a new generation to a long forgotten culture that is nothing to sneeze at

I’m glad this game takes its history seriously and incorporates it into the game as a direct objective. It’s like a playable history book!     This is going to be incredible! Going back to the middle eastern roots, and seeing the historical characters from Baghdad and their achievements in astronomy will be beautiful. This game will hit home big time as I was born in Baghdad 🥹. I also cannot wait to hear the soundtrack 🔥

    I'm glad the game is going a little bit outside Baghdad, there is so much beauty around it, I think it's huge missed opportunity to focus on Baghdad only, not just from environmental side but from historical also... I hope you come back to Iraq in the future in a different time maybe during Summerian/Akkadian/Babylonion times and explore the diverse beauty of Iraq 🇮🇶

And I hope we see more of it.

    Say wht ya want abt Ubi but they are one of the few studios who makes extensive effort in crafting their historical era open worlds with as much actual history research put into designing the period and world to make it as accurate as possible using high volumes of historical, architectural records of real world landmarks. Their extensive research, own 3D mapping & recreation of Notre Dame Cathedral in Unity was actually used irl to aid restoration efforts of real world Notre Dame.

    Ubisoft kills it with the worlds they create. Sure, Rockstar Games makes the most interactive worlds, but Ubisoft makes the best-looking worlds. It's a photo worthy shot no matter where you are in their worlds and no matter what direction you look in, and the environments are layered and almost never flat or sametric.

      @@jaloniwilson The ONLY game to reuse Unity's parkour system was Syndicate, and even then they removed a bunch of animations. After syndicate it was completely remodelled. Origins and Odyssey use the same system. Valhalla has slightly different one. Mirage will have Valhallas parkous system with perhaps some improvements, more animations, and more speed.
