Right?? I was already crying from the slideshow of Penny’s life, and then they hit us with the kids actually screaming in joy from the roller coaster and I just weep because gosh, they’re just kids…. They WERE just kids… 😭😭
I like to think that in the afterlife they're in an infinite carnival, having fun on rides, getting photographed in photo booths, eating popcorn and corndogs :)
I also like to think that when Jane/Penny/Whoever she was in her next life went to the same afterlife after she lived her full life, but as the form of what she really looked like in the choir, and they all ask her questions about being an adult
@Saiki K Fann Yeah, but I guess I'm some ways it would probably be what would happen, I can imagine her trying to make them not feel so bad about not becoming adults by just talking about the bad bits
NOTHING WILL EVER TOP "YOU MIGHT LIVE FOR A DAY OR ETERNITY / THERE'S NO TIME FOR A JUDGE OR A REFEREE" AND RICKY AND OCEAN LOOKING AT EACH OTHER AT *"NO ONE WILL MEASURE HOW HARD WE TRIEEEEEDDDD!!!"* AND I STAND BY THAT

I've noticed that the group huddle before Karnak's death, Ocean is the only one facing out. It's confused me before; but I think that she's the only one facing out because she's taking her role as the group leader seriously: while everyone's clinging to each other as they plunge into Limbo (without Karnak to keep them in the real world,) she's being their shield ready to face where ever the group ends up in first. Which I think is sweet considering that she was ready to sacrifice everyone at the beginning of the play to bring herself back to life.
‘theres no one to measure, how how we try’ sung by ocean and ricky TO EACH OTHER because both people were only seen for how hard they tried in life(ricky, being indifferent, and ocean, trying way too hard to make people believe shes a good person) IS JUST SO. AUGH. THEY UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER IN A WAY THAT NO ONE ELSE IN THE CHOIR CAN AND IT MAKES ME WANT TO CRY!!! THEY SING IT SO HAPPILY TOO AAUGHHGGHG
I like to think that the ending means that they are being returned to the moment before they hit the ground and die. But they all still remember the time in the warehouse with Karnak and everyone’s time expressing who they were. I think Penny remembers her time with Karnak as well; remembering being unable to recall who she was, just knowing that she was dead and unidentified. I think she lives her life with both survivor’s guilt and deep gratefulness to the rest of the choir. I also hope that when Penny dies after surviving, she is reunited with the choir.
Despite his existence being spent predicting deaths, Karnak's death still caught him off guard. His own death surprised him, despite the fact that he knew it was coming.
Since the Cyclone is a huge metaphor for life, especially in the song they are about to sing right after, his final message actually does make sense in context. In the face of reading the deaths of so many people, Karnak has learned there is a lot of confused random noise, but despite it, don’t forget to ride the cyclone (live).

But Karnak said that he only had enough power to reincarnate ONE a person. They were in purgatory from the Cyclone accident. I think that she was actually brought into a brand new life given the existence of Lego land. Lots of the details that I have heard about legoland wouldn’t make sense if she was part of the choir. For example, we have no idea where her brother is/ her brother would’ve been able to identify who she was so she wouldn’t be Jane doe. I haven’t read the entire thing so I don’t know for certain I know they get sent to the school despite that but still.
This is so much better than the cast recording. I adore the last like Karnak says, but what I love even more is the rollercoaster-esque percussion and the joyful scream at the beginning of “It’s just a ride”
My interpretation of the ending: The first part of the song is them accepting the fact that they’re dead forever and they had a life well spent. They appreciate it. Then the second part they start to accept and appreciate the afterlife and move on. They’re all happy and together and before the curtain closes they get back on the cyclone to finish the ride never got to (like unfinished business) and this time it doesn’t derail but safely brings them to the afterlife. When the curtain closes they arrive with Jane/Penny arriving in the real world reborn. Since she never got a life and they had one they both moved on. Just my thoughts
To this day I'm mad that the recording doesn't have the "You might live for a day or eternity/ there's no time for a judge or referee / no one will measure/ how hard we tried" line. Like. Come on. _That's the point of the show._ Why did you cut it??? edit: corrected one of the lyrics. Thanks for the right word!
It’s the same problem with them removing the past opening songs from the soundtrack. They were so focused on using the final version that they forgot what got them there.

The second verse sounds like life from a cynical point of view- sailing through space, just spinning in an insignificant loop. But the third verse really makes me cherish what I have, because that’s what the characters do. They recognize that maybe it really doesn’t matter, but they lived their lives the best they could anyway. This song makes me tear up so much EVERYTIME I go back to it . The way it puts everything together- how they sing in past tense, that they come to accept their death. It’s something that keeps me awake so often at night. How can kids be so okay with dying ? His, heart wrenching. I love it

Genuinely cannot get over Jane (Penny)'s final haunting words. The way they make it similar in melody but not exactly the same as the first song (which adds to the bittersweetness). The way they add the sound effect of the Cyclone crashing. It's such a wonderfully beautiful ending, both in context and melodically 🤯💚 I'm literally blown away at how good this show is oh my lord 💚💚💚
at the end where Ricky takes Oceans hand as if forgiving her where as earlier in the musical when ocena was saying she loved everyone he took his hand away when she tried to grab it
What all of them truly needed, was a friend that loved and accepted who they were on the inside 😭 and they all found that in each other. It’s what they needed to move on
GODS THIS SONG MADE ME CRY THE FIRST TIME I WATCHED They’re so HAPPY, they’re KIDS, I love when rtc reminds us that they’re KIDS. Like, Noel may be dramatic and adult, but he views the bad as something good, and Mischa may be a “Gangster” but he’s just a scared kid, or Ocean who just wants someone to care, and Constance who needs someone to actually see her, and Ricky who’s disabled yeah, but he still seeks CONNECTION. It’s such a good ending, they accept their fates, they have each other, they’ll figure it out, they’ll get through it despite what happened. I know a lot of people end it there, but I have a different interpretation of the ending. A mix of the reincarnation and the back to life theory. After their deaths, they’re sent like, back in time where they have no memories of the warehouse, they go back through their lives exactly the same as before, but RIGHT as they get to the fair, it all comes rushing back. They still have that character development, but they get to *live*. And you may ask “But they saw Jane’s life?” And, they did. What they didn’t realize, is that they were there too, just not in the super cut they saw. It’s wishful thinking, it’s me being too much of a sap to handle a bittersweet ending, but to me? It’s the best possible end :) (Also imagine them cracking jokes about it, like a teacher will drone for too long and Noel just whispers to Ricky “AND THATS WHY NOT EVERYBODY DESERVES A LIBRARY CARD”)
Oh and my reason for believing this is also, they go to the same area behind the curtains, spirals and everything, yes it could just be them going to the afterlife but let me DREAM
I like to think that they all got to be reborn, if not that I like to think Penny somehow found Talia. Talia was an old woman when Penny found her. Penny can remember her time with Karnak in her new life. Penny realizes Talia is the Talia Mischa was singing about. Talia has not been with anyone since Mischa's death. Penny and Talia help find out what happened on the Cyclone.
This song literally gives me goosebumps, especially because of the choreography. I think it’s really sweet how they’re acting like kids and almost like they’re accepting their deaths. I noticed that Ricky (this may or may not have been intentional) was really joyful looking and more ecstatic than the rest of the choir, which i think is because 1.) he accepted his death and 2.) he can “live” being a kid (in that moment) without having to worry about anything. The “duo” that Ocean and Ricky have really shows their development during the musical, which I think is really sweet that they’re connecting. Also, the way Ocean faces out when the group is huddled up makes me think that she’s really taking responsibility for her actions and having leadership over the group, but in a “motherly figure” sort of way. One tiny thing is how all of their appearances changed from the beginning. Noel and Mischa looking happier than the beginning literally makes my heart so happy. The acceptance is really shown in the difference in their expressions and appearances from the beginning. One extra thing that I would like to add is that I like to think that the end is showing them finishing the rollercoaster ride that they never got to, and they can spend their afterlife in the carnival and doing all the things they never got to experience. I don’t have enough room to fit how many amazing things I noticed about this musical and how much I adore it, so this will have to do for now!
It's not a game Maybe that's news Cause no one will win here And no one can lose There's no one to measure Our foolish pride And no one keeps score Of how hard we tried This ride, it has heartbreak This ride, it has pain All kinds of blue skies No shortage of rain Yes, there is laughter And the telling of lies And maybe in darkness We open our eyes And you give and choose While you love and lose And you feel the world is spinning With no ending or beginning You just take a look around Take a look around Take a look around And round and round and round And now you're probably wondering, "What happens next?" That I couldn't possibly tell you But I will say this After reading thousands of human fortunes, my final insight is: Your lucky number is 7 You will soar to great heights Be sure to ride The Cyclone We're just sailing through space There's no up or down So beautiful and strange But it's more than spinning round Yes, it's everything you loved And everything you dreamed And everything you shared And everything that seemed so Oh, so terrifying But it's not a game, it's not a game Whoa, no, no It's not a game, it's not a game It's just a ride It's just a ride We're all just sailing through space There's no up, there's no down It's all so beautiful and strange But so much more than spinning 'round Yes, it's everything you loved And it's everything you dreamed And it's everything you shared And it's everything that seemed so Oh, so terrifying Turning 'round It's just a ride It's just a ride And the world will keep on spinning With no ending or beginning So just take a look around Take a look around Take a look around And round and round and round I know this dream of life is never ending It goes around and round and round again
I don't think Jane Doe ever existed in the first place. I think she represents the group's consciousness, which was at first ignored and not fully realised (or recognised) - thus, Jane Doe, unidentifiable, without a head and so the group had no identity. They are each prescribed a word which is synonymous with their personalities, which is actually their most distinct flaw: Ocean, the most successful girl in town, obsessed with her successes, Constance, the nicest girl in town, forever hiding herself behind her niceness and so on. However, when they finally learn their lesson, which Ocean earlier acknowledges every story has, Jane Doe, their conscience, is fully realised and is called Penny Lamb - who in Legoland is someone who, in summary, seeks purpose.
I like to think that penny, or 'jane' never actually existed, but was an angel or guardian of sorts that was ment to test the children to see if they were good people so they could re-encarnate. Would exsplain her spooky off-setting atmosphere and the song she sings at the end. Also just makes me think thats why we never actually saw her head. She was the opposite of karnak.
I would argue Karnak does have good intentions for them, he even mentions in the fall fair version to show remorse for the kids deaths. If she wasn’t real I could see they’re working together but handle it differently. He’s more harsh with his words because he’s trying to teach them a lesson and recognize their faults, tricking them to help them. While Jane would be the kind one, gently pushing them to learn and grow through empathy. They both want the same thing, the kids to move on. But Karnak is bad cop and Jane would be good cop.
i think the slide show at the end is what they hopped penny's life turned out to be, since she has blonde hair there but the actaul penny has brown hair. i love the details.
Okay so to me it feels like- altho Karnak says he had the ability to bring back only one- something changed that! Maybe Karnak didn't all bring them back, but the portal opened yet again and Jane says take a look around- to then sing the opening "I know this dream of life is never ending- it goes around and round and round again." To me that sounds like them being brought back to life Also notice that unlike the beginning- the kids aren't reacting to the impact of the coaster crashing, but they're reaching to the sky and smiling- which to me looks like the coaster didn't break.
I'd like to imagine after going through that portal they end up either getting another chance of life, all of them being born the same day and meeting up someday once again. Either that, or they go to an afterlife where they'll wait for Jane- i mean Penny to come back. Maybe theres some fun things, like a carnival or something. Rollercoasters probably.
hey if you can could you please upload this song is awesome and maybe what the world needs? I prefer this cast over the official cast recording but noones uploaded them ones :'(
@@miomao_ehe sometimes I find that the recorded version has a but too much overlaying that it's hard to hear the singing or doesn't sound super good like everything else, so people prefer the live versions, that and you can see everything! Which makes it even better
Since the stage still did the spiny things and had lights after Karnak’s death, I like to imagine that the choir can operate the stage now and they use it to perform the music they create and practice to pass time-
Seeing Mischa genuinely smile with the others near the end as they pass on makes me so emotional considering he's never really smiled that much throughout the musical. I think them all smiling is showing they're ready to move on and feel accomplished with the memories of life they lived. They're at peace now.
I noticed. When Jane got brought back to life, the light behind her / infront of her was a blue bright light. And when the choir are "riding the cyclone" into the backstage. What's behind them? A blue bright light. I like to *imagine* that they get brought back aswell. Not by Karnak. But by something else.
I'm still to this day wondering if Ocean is singing the same harmony as Constance in this part 2:36 for the 2016 version cuz I can't hear the alto line anywhere until "yes it's everything you loved"
Everyone is talking about the Ocean facing what comes next as a group leader- but everyone forgets that _SHE_ is the one who goes to check on Karnak, to see if he's somehow faking. She peeks over, sees he's really gone and goes "It's not a game- it's not a game." :>
Yk what, I'm just gonna think it as that in the end, they all got revived by karnak because he wanted to see how much he can bring back before he died/malfunction Leave me alone with my thoughts.

This song makes me tear up so much EVERYTIME I go back to it . The way it puts everything together- how they sing in past tense, that they come to accept their death. It’s something that keeps me awake so often at night. How can kids be so okay with dying ? His, heart wrenching. I love it
THE COREOGRAPH AT 4:22 YESS WITH THE WALKING
IT'S SO MAGICAL
I have literally been unable to think of anything other than 3:52 of this specific performance all day.
everytime when i watch this and jane goes I know this dream of life is never ending
it goes around and round and round again I get goosebumps and I wanna cry help
i cannot express just how much i love this song. it gives me chills. its so powerful. the best ending song. this is amazing.
Genuinely cannot get over Jane (Penny)'s final haunting words. The way they make it similar in melody but not exactly the same as the first song (which adds to the bittersweetness). The way they add the sound effect of the Cyclone crashing. It's such a wonderfully beautiful ending, both in context and melodically 🤯💚 I'm literally blown away at how good this show is oh my lord 💚💚💚
all of the coughs in these scare me so bad 💀💀

SAME
at the end where Ricky takes Oceans hand as if forgiving her where as earlier in the musical when ocena was saying she loved everyone he took his hand away when she tried to grab it
What all of them truly needed, was a friend that loved and accepted who they were on the inside 😭 and they all found that in each other. It’s what they needed to move on
GODS THIS SONG MADE ME CRY THE FIRST TIME I WATCHED
They’re so HAPPY, they’re KIDS, I love when rtc reminds us that they’re KIDS.
It’s the best possible end :)
(Also imagine them cracking jokes about it, like a teacher will drone for too long and Noel just whispers to Ricky “AND THATS WHY NOT EVERYBODY DESERVES A LIBRARY CARD”)
Oh and my reason for believing this is also, they go to the same area behind the curtains, spirals and everything, yes it could just be them going to the afterlife but let me DREAM
@@BorgerRat I love this theory so much. It’s definitely probably wishful thinking but oh I love it so much
i’m physically sobbing.. yo….

this song instantly makes me cry
2:36 when they all take turns starting a line is so beautiful and heartbreaking
I like to think that they all got to be reborn, if not that I like to think Penny somehow found Talia. Talia was an old woman when Penny found her. Penny can remember her time with Karnak in her new life. Penny realizes Talia is the Talia Mischa was singing about. Talia has not been with anyone since Mischa's death. Penny and Talia help find out what happened on the Cyclone.
1 year later and i still get goosebumps from this whole part
It's not a game
Maybe that's news
Cause no one will win here
And no one can lose
There's no one to measure
Our foolish pride
And no one keeps score
Of how hard we tried
This ride, it has heartbreak
This ride, it has pain
All kinds of blue skies
No shortage of rain
Yes, there is laughter
And the telling of lies
And maybe in darkness
We open our eyes
And you give and choose
While you love and lose
And you feel the world is spinning
With no ending or beginning
You just take a look around
Take a look around
Take a look around
And round and round and round
And now you're probably wondering, "What happens next?"
That I couldn't possibly tell you
But I will say this
After reading thousands of human fortunes, my final insight is:
Your lucky number is 7
You will soar to great heights
Be sure to ride The Cyclone
We're just sailing through space
There's no up or down
So beautiful and strange
But it's more than spinning round
Yes, it's everything you loved
And everything you dreamed
And everything you shared
And everything that seemed so
Oh, so terrifying
But it's not a game, it's not a game
Whoa, no, no
It's not a game, it's not a game
It's just a ride
It's just a ride
We're all just sailing through space
There's no up, there's no down
It's all so beautiful and strange
But so much more than spinning 'round
Yes, it's everything you loved
And it's everything you dreamed
And it's everything you shared
And it's everything that seemed so
Oh, so terrifying
Turning 'round
It's just a ride
It's just a ride
And the world will keep on spinning
With no ending or beginning
So just take a look around
Take a look around
Take a look around
And round and round and round
I know this dream of life is never ending
It goes around and round and round again
damn
WHY DID THE ALBUM TAKE AWAY THIS PART?? 😭 3:43 - 4:00
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH ITS NOT A GAME/ITS JUST A RIDE IS THE BEST SONG FROM THE WHOLE SHOW FIGHT ME
4:00 i swear i can hear Penny/Jane in the back and it just gets kinda louder and louder but slowly but it stops for a bit
I'd like to think that at the end, they all get back on the cyclone to die once more, but this time they go to the real afterlife with penny
Nah
I play Karnak in my theatre’s production of this show, and I cry every time I listen to/sing this song
4:19 THEY SOUND SO GOOD HERE
the way kanark says make sure to ride the cyclone 2:08
Using this to mourn the rtc slime tutorial that got taken down :(
that sucks I just learned about this yesterday !

Ah I got jumpscared by the noise
i think the slide show at the end is what they hopped penny's life turned out to be, since she has blonde hair there but the actaul penny has brown hair. i love the details.
I like to think that she was Penny before death (events of LEGOLAND) and then after death she was reincarnated as a new Penny Lamb :)
She has blonde hair in the play bc she has her dolls head instead of her actual
I like to think she was in her new life, Ezra Lamb's daughter. Ezra Lamb named her Penny after his long lost sister who rode the cyclone.
NO ONE WILL MEASUREEEE HOW HARD WE TRYY (that line makes me want to literally cry I love it so much) 3:50
Okay so to me it feels like- altho Karnak says he had the ability to bring back only one- something changed that! Maybe Karnak didn't all bring them back, but the portal opened yet again and Jane says take a look around- to then sing the opening
"I know this dream of life is never ending- it goes around and round and round again."
To me that sounds like them being brought back to life
Also notice that unlike the beginning- the kids aren't reacting to the impact of the coaster crashing, but they're reaching to the sky and smiling- which to me looks like the coaster didn't break.
This is my new ending and nothing will convince me otherwise
I don't care if this is true or not, I now choose to believe this is the ending
This is the canon ending in my opinion. I refuse to accept they didn't get to come back
This ending actually makes sense because maybe Karnak’s last words were going to be about how he could bring them back
This is the canon ending, prove me wrong
This is going on my feel good energetic playlist
Even when I just listen to the soundtrack, this song makes me cry.
I prefer this cast over the official cast recording but noones uploaded them ones :'(
Ocean is the same actor in both versions!!!
@@miomao_ehe sometimes I find that the recorded version has a but too much overlaying that it's hard to hear the singing or doesn't sound super good like everything else, so people prefer the live versions, that and you can see everything! Which makes it even better
I tear up every time this plays. Even world premiere
RAAAH AHA OMG I LUV THIS SO MUCH OMG I THREW UP WHILE LISTENING TO THIS AND IT WAS A RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE
Since the stage still did the spiny things and had lights after Karnak’s death, I like to imagine that the choir can operate the stage now and they use it to perform the music they create and practice to pass time-
I was so upset they got rid of this part in the studio recording :( 3:50
4:49 i SWEAR you can her janes voice in the back
Yeah she also sings in that part
of all the versions this one is my favorite, i also love that there are so many different versions but i hate that i cant download the all
Seeing Mischa genuinely smile with the others near the end as they pass on makes me so emotional considering he's never really smiled that much throughout the musical. I think them all smiling is showing they're ready to move on and feel accomplished with the memories of life they lived. They're at peace now.
This song is so amazing nobody can tell me otherwise
4:20
THIS FOR SOME REASON SOUNDS SO GOOD
I was so scared the first time I watched it when Karnak died
Same! Like I was expecting it but it still made me scared
I wish they didn't delete the duets from the spotify soundtrack, they all sound so good.
this was before the soundtrack
I love this song!! It’s the perfect ending and reminds me of the last day of school
Everyone is talking about the Ocean facing what comes next as a group leader- but everyone forgets that _SHE_ is the one who goes to check on Karnak, to see if he's somehow faking. She peeks over, sees he's really gone and goes "It's not a game- it's not a game."
:>
you might live for a day or eternity ☹️☹️ theres no time for a judge or a referee 😥😥😓 no one will mesure 😦😓😢 HOW HARD WE TRIEDDDD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
The way Ocean walks up to Karnaks body makes me cry
4:01 I love how they’re all smiling in this part when in fall fair the were frowning😭😭😭
no puede ser que siempre termine llorando sin importar cuantas veces vea el final
the cough makes me so mad 0:10
Yk what, I'm just gonna think it as that in the end, they all got revived by karnak because he wanted to see how much he can bring back before he died/malfunction
Leave me alone with my thoughts.
2:17 Where it’s just a ride starts!!
I take the song being a metaphor for life saying that life isn’t a game, it’s a ride and you just gotta enjoy it.
crying in pain
4:17 turning rouuuuuuuuuuuuuunddddddddd
Can you do Ocean’s song next (What the world needs) :D ❤
