MARK LARKHAM raced Bathurst 10 times, even drove for and ran his own team there. He NEVER won it. The Mountain decided who is the Champion, and the King of the Mountain was and always will be Peter Brock.
I am watching the practice laps now someone just crashed going through the bends at the top his team will be working till late tonight to get it ready for tomorrow
This man knows his stuff.....I hope new up and coming drivers watch this and also his other video he did where he actually gives a 'how to win' (or how to stay alive lol) If driving in the Greatest Race!!! There's no bull sh*t here just plain talk and facts.
Yep! We will be live for the entire race on our channel! If you wanted to come swing by! And yeah we will keep an eye our for it. probably wont be able to do anything before the race but could do it after or save it for before next years!
It is instinct, a lot of talent , a lot of money spent for no visible result and then practise , practise and more PRACTISE......Allan Moffat spent over $100,000 just on practise tyres for his XB Falcon assault on Bathurst.......probably about 1973 , 74 or 75. In todays money that would be over 3 million AUD , just on tyres. Over 5 million US. And the skill levels.......i have known skilled drivers who wanted to race, but didn't have the guts to drive that quick......heros in a straight line but snails in the corners and under brakes. Then the good and talented driver that does have the courage, but keeps hitting the wall at least 15 mph under the SLOW racing speed. The fast drivers are taking the 40 mph corner sideways, opposite lock and FULL POWER on at 110 mph. lol
Bathurst weather top temp 20 celcius no rain. Some People camping set ups one has a full kitchen with 2 stoves built in a container. Limit is a slab of beer each person 24 pack per day.but they do smuggle in way more.😂😅😂😂😂
Just to put it into perspective, over a 6.2 kilometer race track the time difference between the fastest qualifier and 25th car is 1.3 seconds. Difference between fastest and 5th fastest 0.1211seconds.
Mate. I don't wish to sound cocky... I want folk in the USA to know when Bathurst is on. By my watch...Detroit is 14 hours behind where I live in coastal north Queensland. So it follows that the race starts here this Sunday morning and runs into the afternoon. Get it ? The international date line is somewhere east of New Zealand , which is our Eastern Neighbour 3 hours ahead . Shame we don't have the glory days of the A9X , GTHO', E49 Chargers and other ones
When I look up the start time for F1 and MotoGP, I simply search AEST. They have the power of the most useful tool in the world, right at their fingertips! And they have to be technologically savvy. So what's their excuse for being so ignorant? I mean, apart from learning the basics from what you've just said.
Lol It's not ignorance. It just slipped my mind when we were recording lol. AEST is 15hrs ahead of us, but it was about 1am when we were recording this and my brain had already went to sleep lol. We are going live for the race as we said in the video. So we knew what time it all started at.

As i recall Fox sports decided to get rid of Mark Larkham a few years ago. There was so much outrage from the fans that they reversed their decision within a month or so.
Nascar drivers would not handle Bathurst unless there Australian and they have done Bathurst its that hard to race on this track so many drivers crash on this track I raced bikes and rally cars when I was young and I wasn't bad but this is different

I'm on the Goldie. This race used to after ours but vehicle attrition became a real problem. We have night drags this year I was told.

Think about it. The guy who comes in last is 10 times the driver most of us are. From first to last, they are all ELITE

Yesterdays race was actually boring compared to Bathursts Past...... No rain?, no heat? , one safety car?

If you can't first beat this mountain... you will never win this race.
