Man , when he glides while the people are affected by the gas and they see batman like this demonic creature gliding gives me chills .
You hear the screams while he's gliding and when he stops so do the screams. What makes the Nolan movies special are the little details

Not really. He couldn’t do that for most of his history unlike Spider-Man. Batman begins actually pretty much invented that. Sometimes he had a glider. But not his cape itself.

@@siobibble9078 while I agree that it's not the same as Spiderman's swinging it's still not true that he didn't glide with the cape before begins, besides other gliders his cape has been a glider itself in the comics since the 60s and has been implied ever since, in subsequent comics, a shit load of games and the Schumacher films, though that fact had sometimes been ignored by writers or simply forgotten about, begins did not invent it but certainly attempted to explain it for the first time

@@icemav5740 if I remember correct, in Batman returns, it’s a seperate glider that unfolded and came out of his suit, not the cape itself. But true enough, he’s had a bat-glider for a long time, and uses it occasionally in the animated series for example. Begins is the first to just use his cape

The sheer practicality of this scene makes it soooo beautiful. Compared to the overdone CGI work we get today in most superhero movies.

I love the overall look and feel of Batman Begins over The Dark Knight as far as Batman Aesthetics go, that's actually why I love what Matt Reeves is doing for The Batman that aesthetic is perfect

I agree. It goes less for realism than the sequels. And for me, it suits the character and the world better. I know I'm a minority, but I even prefer the film itself overall over the rest of the trilogy.
A criticism I have of Dark Knight is that it really doesn’t capture the feel and aesthetic of Gotham, pretty sure it doesn’t even rain once in the movie

Absolutely. When I first saw the trailers for The Batman, my first thought was that it looked like the sequel to Batman Begins we never got.
And thankfully, the movie absolutely delivered; it had the best Gotham we've seen in any Batman movie. Even the interiors felt that way.

Bale's Batman gliding: Basically a compact hang glider, goes wherever he wants it to.
Pattinson's Batman gliding: oh god I didn't think I'd actually have to do this, I'm breaking three bones at a bare minimum.
Bale's Batman = A real man. A legend and savior of Gotham.
Pattinson's Flatman = A skinny, limpwristed emo, soyboy that's literally wearing hockey pads to look tough.
Bale's batman is idolized mostly by young kids and insecure men who were bullied as a kid. The type of guys that post cringe quotes on their socials with images of the joker or tommy shelby in the background and who try way too hard to compensate for their lack of success and masculinity.
Pattinson's Batman = Is literally Year One Batman. Not perfect.
I hope Matt reeves version of The Batman flys like how Nolan did

Low key I think Batman Begins is a much better Batman movie than TDK, even tho TDK has a better plot. But Gotham has a much more comic accurate atmosphere in BB. Also, it kinda feels a bit more eerie and outlandish. A villain like Poison Ivy could've been possible in BB but not in TDK nor TDKR.

The wingsuit in The Batman was awesome. If there's a sequel really hope they had an imrpoved version that looks more like this with wide bat-like wing but easier to use and to control like in the arkham game
i think that after what happend with the wingsuit and the parachute in that bridge, bruce will likely meet lucius in the sequel and will ask for a cape that allows him to fly with out getting stuck in anything
There actually was concept art shown recently where he did have a gliding cape, but it was cut. I imagine there's a good chance we'll see it in the sequel.

The squirrel suit was literally the opposite of "awesome". It looked like he's wearing grandma's nightgown. What an overrated, boring movie. Hack Reeves couldn't hold Chris Nolan's dirty jockstrap.

One of the things I like about Batman is that it feels like you can imagine being him - Batman is a legitimate work choice in human terms. Therefore, I'd like him to feel as realistic as possible regarding Batman's memory cloth cape. Could memory cloth or something similar exist in reality? Well, the film crew working on the Batman costume for Batman Begins actually received some help from the British Ministry of Defense, who instructed the costumers on a technique called "electrostatic flocking". The cape was made of a nylon parachute fabric, brushed with glue, and embedded with a fine, hair-thin material. The crew then ran an electric charge through it, giving the cape that distinctive look. This time around it was for aesthetic purposes, but a similar principle could one day be used to create functional glider capes.
As for the theoretical flying capabilities of such a contraption, physics students at the University of Leicester determined in their paper titled "Trajectory of a Falling Bat," that Batman could actually glide pretty far. Unfortunately, the landing is a bit trickier, as the researchers estimated he would be reaching speeds of up to 50 mph; which is not exactly a safe landing speed, even for the caped crusader. The students recommended possible fixes including extending his wing span, or even utilizing jet propulsion to slow his landing.
When assessing the gliding capacity of Batman's cape realistically, everything here feels even entirely plausible, apart from one problem - He needs to be able to land slower to avoid serious injury.
I propose that Batman has a small, but powerful jet pack in his suit's back, to slow himself down when he arrives while gliding. The jet pack will have two sets of two holes, one set facing up and one set facing down - So, for example, when Batman saves Rachel, the holes facing down would be shooting downward, whereas when Batman enters the building the Joker and his henchmen are operating in, the holes facing up would be shooting upward.

call me crazy.. but that first Dark Knight free fall and glide.. with the cape folded up... gave me some Batman Beyond feels...

I really hated that the 2004 Batman show didn’t include him gliding sure when he’s falling he is able to land or is able to change his cape into a glider, but the glider is literally just too large bat wings instead of a cool cape I mean two giant wings are goodin means of transport and looking good but I wish that the 2004 Batman was able to glide with his cape because it would’ve been so cool

In my opinion Christian Bale's Batman hasn't been fully dethroned by Robert Pattinson, because of his epic and majestic gliding scenes where he truly felt like the BAT-man in the trilogy.
His bat-cape really gives me the feel of "leather wings".
You also have to understand Robert's bat was in his early years , year 2 to be precise, he is still figuring things out.

In any future Pattinson Batmans they need to have him glide like this and/or use his grapple hook to get around more often. I can't help but hear the Pitch Meeting guy say, "Batman walks at them slowly, y'know, like a bat." They want us to believe he can take a bomb to the face, crash face-first into a bridge with a wingsuit, withstand constant gunfire to his suit without slowing down, and use mystery green fluid as an adrenaline boost. What I'm asking wouldn't make things any less realistic.

@@beesmongeese2978 I mean gliding aside, the way batman and Bruce Wayne's ark is handled, and the villains in the first film are great, just lacked good combat scenes but I liked what Nolan was trying to do with it. That later films seem to capture less and less of this charm
