The imperfectness of Batman makes him kinda perfect. Human.
over the time? yes
but its year 1/2 batman
hes pretty much rookie :3
@@RantallionAI In his super early years he did
Well, this is an intern batman so.
@@RantallionAII think this pairs with the current Battinson perfectly, we will probably see him grow into the "Perfect Batman" as the films progress. Would be pretty neat.
@@RantallionAI Perfection is boring and for the kids.
That fraction of a second pov from inside a window to make us realize his actual speed makes my hair stand
What top speed was he flying at?
@TommyMVSERVTI the speed that makes you go "ssssswish"
I love that the wingsuit inflating was a practical effect, such a neat moment
How would that work?
It's not, it's a different suit than the shot in the BTS
And in turn, in The Batman: Part 2, it will be redesigned into a shape of a bat that is part of the Batsuit that we all know and love.
@@Rah3li0speople actually do this in urban settings too
I hate people like you
I love how in a single night Batman gets exploded by the neck bomb, breaks his neck via wingsuit, and is involved in a 9000 car pileup
It’s the Arkham games all over again
The suit protects him from a lot and you’d be surprised at how durable the human body is for someone who works out as vigorously as Batman does. They’re are real world cases of people surviving stuff like that virtually unharmed
@@jaythekid4728 No lol, with an injury like that he would be in coma for weeks at least.
@@jaythekid4728 Interesting. Could you show me the cases?
@@jaythekid4728 You can work out all you want, nothing is protecting you from that level of impact. Do you know how bodybuilders and olympic athletes fair in car wrecks?...Same as everyone else. There is nothing wrong with a comic book movie using some stretching of the human body's durability.
The fact that he is a little scared is dope.
Are you saying Batman was under the influence of drugs?
Its year 2 batman, look at his journal when movie starts
@@SoumikSarkerno one said it wasnt
No
@@fishfood8711he didn’t say anybody said it wasn’t he’s just sharing a fun fact don’t be so defensive
The reason why this is such a perfect 'early years' Batman movie is because it nails so much of the trial and error parts we usually never get to see. He knows to go straight to the roof, he has the wingsuit on hand and ready but when he first reaches the top, he's scared. When he's in flight he crashes at the first obstacle. All his years of training and preparation but it's still his first time actually *doing* something like this and it shows and it's awesome.
I love how the gear batman uses in this universe is more grounded and "realistic" vs the hyper advanced sci-fi stuff other batmans use.
It is kind of. It's more so that he hasn't perfected anything. It's why he gasped out in fear because he had never used the wingsuit before. Bruce Wayne learns from his mistakes, or something like that.
Yeah, except the almost completely bulletproof armor, that ruined it
@@ProDeathblowit didn't ruin anything. This is supposed to be year 2 Batman and back then he wore more armor to compensate for his lack of experience
@LilypadLandings no Lucius so far. Bro needs some upgrades, I mean if he had 1 throwable batarang then he wouldn't have been electrocuted at the end lol
I tought Batman Begins also tried to achieve this
Loved this. When Batman stood by the Ledge, looking down. You could see he was nervous as heck. But he knew he had no other Option.
I remember the audience went crazy when Batman took the risk and jumped off from the tower.
@Number 9 My theater was saying jump over and over when he was on the roof. And when he jumped off my theater went crazy!! It was awesome!!! :)
Everybody just started laughing for me. I don't know what was so funny.
Another batmobile monster type entry
Yeah exactly
I remember everyone reacting when he smacked into the bridge
I love how this movie blended together all the best elements of Batman's universe across every interpretation of Gotham while still being something new and original. It has a lot of music and aesthetic inspired by the animated series, the grittiness of the Nolan films, and even some of the humor of the 90's movies. I'm hyped to see this iteration of Batman continue, and hopefully the sequel doesn't lose sight of all the things that made this movie great.
I love the shot of him gliding at 1:58 because the wingsuit actually gives him the shape and look of a bat im this bit
I love how @ 1:10 feels very Adam west style running and camera angle movement to give it that classic feel and homage to the original
Or it's just you see first time Batman running , since Adam West era.
I feel like all the camera shots look like comic book panels.
This was exactly what I was thinking of, too.
I'm captivated with THE BATMAN the same way I am with THE DARK KNIGHT.
Facts!!!
Same here
Same
Explained to me what I was feeling deep down. Facts.
It's a parallel story to a franchise
This portrayal of Jim Gordon is just awesome
But they still shouldn't have race-swapped him.
@@comyxcon4gaming860 You should swap yourself with some soil, you sad, lonely, gamer-dork.
@comyxcon4gaming860 if the race isn't a central part of the character, who tf cares? Black Jim Gordon killed it
@@comyxcon4gaming860 i mean they race swapped Nick Fury and a lot of people love that version of the character
It really was awesome. I still want to see Tom Sellek do the role sometime, tho. Dude just looks like Gordon to start with
I genuinely love how he got scared of the heights, i dunnow added a lot to where Batman is right now in his carreer at this point.
I think barley two years into it maybe
On top of that, him being scared but jumping anyway makes him way more brave than a batman who is not scared at all
I love the way he suits up. It's almost like his body is dissociated from his head and he's preparing his mind as his body straps him in.
This cuts out the funniest part where he just awkwardly limps down the alleyway
I always remember how the whole theatre went absolutely crazy cheering during this scene. And that was in Czech Republic, where people are usually really calm.
Every shot in this scene looks like it could be placed into a comic book. It’s beautiful.
Gordon and Batman had great chemistry in this movie.
Which was only true in live-action for TDKT until this film arrived a decade later.
African Gordon haha
This specific scene shows that Batman does need a wingsuit or his cape being able to glide. Him having a parachute caused himself to collide and didn't slow him down if it gets caught onto something. These are the moments when Batman starts developing more on his tech from his mistakes.
Anyone notice how funny movie cops look and sound when they are in a group running after someone? 😂
I'm pretty sure that was one of the first things people realized when they invented film. There was a whole run of silent movies about it.
I love the grounded feel of the film, almost evocative of the Dark Knight Trilogy but its atmosphere and tone makes it stand apart from those three (except Begins, which I feel had a similar tone to The Batman).
I also like how human this Batman is, like that's the first time he has tried gliding down the skyline so _of course_ he'd be freaked out from the thought of doing something like this.
Everything in this movie was excellent, and I can't wait to see more from Reeves.
Thats really is his first time gliding. The story is set on his early years as Batman
If surviving a bomb to the face, an overpass to the face at 50mph, not being able to be pushed backward by multiple sub mgs firing at 700ft per second point blank (also no ricochet), and firing guns at an unarmed man in a police station with innocents nearby is grounded, then yes, yes it is grounded.
@@wrist-snap3444
Well, if we're lucky enough to see the sequel, maybe we'll see this Bruce kick a tree down, or bust walls apart effortlessly. That's true grounded-ness.
@@wrist-snap3444lol I love this movie but you have a point. As “grounded” as they made this film it definitely has some ridiculous parts.
@@wrist-snap3444Yes, it is grounded. As grounded as a movie about a billionaire who moonlights as a vigilante dressed as a giant bat can be.
It's not a documentary about a neighborhood watch member.
Context matters
I watched this about 157 Times it never gets boring
1:47 that fall. Spine-chilling🔥
Corny. That squirrel suit ruined it.
@@SUP-h9ddo you even know what you’re talking about lol
More like, spine breaking
@@SUP-h9dThey're trying to go for realistic and I dont see any way that cape of his could do that
“BATS! The only mammals capable of flight. Since all you do is glide, you're actually a variety of squirrel.”
-Riddler 2015
its so funny because this is probably from the arkham games and alludes that the riddler found that out himself, meaning he watches batman for an uncomfortable amount of time
Thus, providing the impetus for him to create the beyond suit, which does propel him
*Squirrel Girl has entered the chat*
@TommyMVSERVTI That's Marvel actually, 👆🤓
Reeves and Greig Fraser managed to make this scene feel very inmersive and anxiety-inducing by focusing on Batman's POV when he's gliding.
I remember seeing the stunt man, Matt Reeves, Pattison, & the whole cast filming scenes in Liverpool. My place of work was five minutes away from where they were shooting and it was glorious!
Сэр, нет ли у вас работы для меня ? Я сильно очень люблю и уважаю Ливерпуль
Love how Batman gives him a clean punch when he’s not looking. What a professional.
Bro, if he’d hit that beam at that speed, he’d be dead on impact. Other than that, that was pretty cool.
Pretty much the equivalent of being hit in the face with a twenty foot crowbar.
The more I re-watched it, the more epic it looks!
@Siddharth Sriram Yep, i think its due to watchers overexposed to MCU writing that they tend to forget that superhero movies still needs logic.
The practicality of his gear in this film made it so much more enjoyable. Loved this scene and the rough landing
i like how his cape turns into the gliding suit
It's so cool seeing a Batman early on in his um, vigilante career?. he's a badass yet still improving and learning
when i saw this scene in theater 2yrs ago i was so in shock but also like flabergasted by how cool it was😂😂 fav batman movie ever
I like how everyone seems to respect Gordon who’s what a outstanding man he is.
I'd love to see him do it again in another film, but nail it this time and show he learned
Batman is every gear heads super hero. All of his gadgets make sense and he is proficient at their use.
I was straight dying of laughter when this scene happened in the theatre. Sucky part was, I seemed to be the only person laughing.
I love how Jim sounds like Christian Bale's Batman when he says "LISTEN TO ME"
To sound like Bat-Bale, one must talk like Scooby-Doo on rabies.
Brilliant movie. Finally DC learnt to make proper Batman movie . Batman isn't only action figure.
If this were in real life, he would have been dead.
Batman year 2!!!! What an incredible movie and awesome scene!!!
2:04 I'm no wingsuit expert, but wouldn't hitting his head on a fixed object at such a speed have killed him?
Power of the bruce chin i guess
Ummm, hello??? That is Batman, Batman doesn't obey physics, physics obey him.
It’s a movie
Parachute decreased his speed greatly , it was stuck in the bridge which forced his body to swing back , plus its a tube light , not a tough mettalic or concrete surface, and it was his upper chest which collided.
@@Deadpool-rw1pk agreed, his armor most likely provided a degree of protection for him too
watching batman doing stunts feels thrilling & funny at the same time like 😂🤯😳🤣
Batman’s grappling gun is a gadget that I still dream of having one day😂
I recall a video in YT where they explain how a grappling gun could be effective irl.
The conclusion was that, considering the force required to pull you at that speed, the gun will snap you entire arm before you can leave the ground.
@@bondrewdthenovel3598 It makes sense for sure, but is a cool concept
Evryone cheered in the theatre when he jumped from that. I hope the next films show batman more prepared to tackle the cops, like Batman Begins and a cape for gliding
Tbh I prefer the wing suit then the cape it’s more realistic and believeable
@@jarvisdog2177 imo the wing suit as a precursor to a gliding cape would definitely do it for me, but i'd love the same kind of approach to it
I love the obligatory Batman either going up or down a stairwell scene in them all.
I like moments like these where you can really tell this is Year 1 Batman, as he's still making mistakes and his gear isn't as polish but more a concept being worked out.
what makes this scene brilliant is that with tech and training, this is totally possible, in fact it's prolly been done by spec ops
Year 2, he wasn’t ready for the building jump. That ledge came at him fast, can’t wait for the next movie he’ll have it perfected
So batman crash landed and learned from his mistake changing how he glides and makes a cape glider.
This version of Batman is supposed to be green, barely a few years into his crusade unlike the most seasoned versions we've seen. His gadgets are not as advanced and refined and thus he will make mistakes.
00:13 We gotta get you outta here.
Best part of the movie 2:05
I like this pattinson's batman. Bcz they portrait batman as what a human can do.this flying scene also example for that. Each n every scenes in this movie, batman is considered as an ordinary man having no super powers.
That’s what I call for Gotham
This is actually my favorite glider suit scene, I like the wing suit real feel than the bat cape glider. Makes it more believable and I hope they keep it instead of the bat cape
The cape glider is a glider parachute combo. It's also iconic. There's no way Bruce is making this mistake of using that parachute again
@@helsharidy123 it's safe to say I don't think this version of Bruce is ever going to show his face again
@@RealWWEAsuka give the dude a break, this is his second year of being Batman 😭
@@RealWWEAsuka not exactly a safe bet as the movie was pretty well received
All this talk of ultra realism, only for the suit to be able to tank point blank assault rifle fire.
Gliding scene looks so goofy
Legend
if you notice the movie closely, this is year 2 batman. that is why his wingsuit landing was not perfect.
Everybody talking about the wingsuit, but the real gem of this scene is Gordon helping Batman while pretending to be furious with him.
Ook forward to the sequel
I Love this movie a little more everyday. Ben Affleck is still my favorite, but this film admittedly is remarkable
Bale?
@@majorhawk2339 Bale is definitely the best Bruce Wayne, but in terms of Batman he is low on the toem pole
@brobiden7296Everyone did, but canonically he was untouchable and stealthily than Batfleck who gets hit and shot during his fights constantly lol
Batfleck is garbage
There are a lot of actors who played batman, but this is THE BATMAN in real life.
Awesomeness job
This scene shows that Bruce ain’t used to gliding yet
Just realized Jim Gordon telling him to go to the roof means he genuinely believed this dude could FLY lol
I'm fine with it being a realistic wingsuit, but it's Batman we're talking here and it really needed wings
He went out like Ethan Hunt in a Mission Impossible movie. Not like the other Batmans with his gliding cape.
The Batman
This movie was so all over the place
Making a realistic batman and then having him survive the absolutely fatal crash landing at the end
If that hit, at that speed, didn't killed him, nothing else will....
the cops acting like a pack of angry dogs made this for me
The flying squirrel
I bursted out laughing when he crashed
Love how they casually just open fire with civilians on all floors O_O.
Wow a young Bruce Wayne learning how to glide that reminds me of Spider-Man learning how to swing
1:01 WASTED Grand Theft Auto V Sound Effect
0:00 1:01 1:16 1:18 1:36 1:47 As much as I respect the suit, if he had glided with the bat cape, it would’ve made the scene even better.
Yeah but keep in mind, this is his first time gliding. This whole movie is only his second year as Batman. It’s more practical and believable that his first glider was a wing suit instead of the actual cape. And keep in mind there’s gonna be two more movies so I guarantee either the second one or third he’ll have his cape-glider. It’s better to see his character grow throughout this trilogy as a fresh Batman to a experience Batman.
it would be cooler if we see him upgrade the cape in future movies, we don't need another Bale situation where he fully establishes his batman/bruce straight away and gets all the best equipment given to him from the very first movie
no, a more grounded approach is what makes this better
you can hear some danny elfman batman music when he puts on the gliding suit.
The gliding and opening nthe wing suit looked great but the landing off of the car and bouncing looked so bad
Amazing
This scene is so simple but at the same time so epic, i guess It's épic because for a very human Batman it's crazy to jump down from a building, for other batmans this is normal routine
I love how super dead he isn't after this, lol.
1:45 i like this part
wow, 25 seconds of flight. someone out of tape in camera
Real movie unlike the avengers, the bat
I love how everyone in the comments compliments Batman's pain for just being realistic
This "landing" would have instantly killed him. They could have made a more believable "bad landing" that he actually could have walked away from.
I love the fizziness of root beer.
I love how he breaks his fall with his head when falling at crazy speed!! I wish the movie would've ended here though.
How did Gordon know he had a wing suit? He told him to go to the roof with no further escape plan
Maybe he told Gordon earlier
Plus he could have used his grapple gun to go down by rope
Because he’s batman
Firstly, Gordon is probably aware of it considering they've known each other for quite a while, even if it hasn't been used yet. Secondly, he has a gadget that lets him run down the side of buildings so he probably considered that too.
I hope in the next movie he learn his mistakes and have more accurate batman wings
I may have missed something but did Batman use or mention his wing suit at any point before this scene? Weird that Gordon would recommend he escape to the roof if he didn’t already know Batman had a way off the top of a sky scraper.
he defo saw him use his grappling hooks ..maybe he thought he cud figure something out
Leap of faith moment.
"The Batman (Bonks his Head off a Bridge)"
Maybe he didn't have Mr.Fox to support his glide yet lol
Squirel Man.
