Biggest change I saw that barely anyone is talking about is that Normal shots from bowguns now do elemental damage which corresponds with the monster the weapon is crafted from. Since the HBG is Uth Duna's, the Normal ammo has a water element effect!
I thought I was crazy when I noticed it & didn't mention it, but since we're there, some hits of the hammer had a pink effects on hits sometimes, the cats attacks also have it sometimes
Wait, what?! Didn’t notice that at all and I main gunner and always feverishly look out for footage of new stuff. The journalist gunner gameplay always makes me sad because it’s so suboptimal it makes the weapons look pathetically weak and or boring which isn’t how they play when your solo at all. Case in point the HBG special ammo doing like, 35-55 damage total when the sword and shield did that in one or two regular hits. People seeing that will assume gunner weapons suck or are just boring easy mode weapons like what people said about them in rise.
This is insane. I wonder what that means for gunning. Is it only on normal ammo? Will elemental ammo double dip? Will piercing ammo to a large monster just do more elemental damage than using elemental ammo? Thx a lot for pointing it out. As an lbg main I can't wait.
I really hope that bows just get more coatings as they get futher down the weapon trees and it's not just ammo up on the set. The bows discerning dodge didn't get rid of the blast blight. That's a little disapointing.
8:30 I don't think Ajrakan ignites himself with his tail because he does it when he's not enraged alot as well. I think it's just more of a "hype myself up" animation. Think of when a guy is going to attempt a really heavy squat an his spotter is behind him slapping his back to hype him up. Same thing. Like a gorilla chest beat before it fights.
I figured that something like shelling would set that oil silt on fire and set off that environmental trap. I'm less certain that something like a weapon of any type, without such a mechanic, with fire element would be able to with normal attacks... Hmm there was also that quirk of the beta where an overcharged sword on CB would passively light grass on fire as you walk. That's new for the series so maybe that will do it too. It would fall under the categor yof a weapon mechanic that have inate fire damage setting it off, as opposed to normal attacks with fire element weapons. Hey, sometimes madness is the key to genius. The more unique monster interactions and mechanics, the better.
Now THIS is the kind of video I wanted to see. Actually hidden stuff, not just mentioning every thing that you can just notice by watching it once. Such a good content
Hollow thank you! It’s always a balance of what to include in these things because I could pick out another 10 things at least that maybe isn’t obvious but it feels like stuff we have already talked about. The journey to include the stuff people want is always an interesting one 🤣
I dont think that overloading Ajarakan is too far-fetched. We have seen somewhat similar mechanics before, like using torch pods to heat up the magma on lavasioth. Its definitely viable and would be nice to see, cant go wrong with having more monsters with specific tactics you can use against them.
I agree! I’m definitely partial to Changing what I use on a monster by monster basis using elemental bows so I do tend to enjoy that lol but I also just think it all plays into the monster hunter fantasy more, preparing for the fight is so fun!
They were only allowed the hope bow so the damage numbers don't get out of control with upgraded bows. Tell me the bow is the devs love child without telling me the bow is the devs love child 😂 Just kidding ofc
I think it was definitely low rank, but likelihood is they gave them high rank gear because IGN getting obliterated by a low rank monster would have made it harder to showcase stuff. This is probably why it looked so easy and the big attacks didn't actually do much damage.
Welcome to monster hunter wilds! Exciting for people to learn about the game 🙌 yeah the combat is much more similar to world, no wire bugs and also no clutch claw we just have a slinger to shoot ammo at monsters or interact with environmental stuff

THATS HUGE!!

maybe you need to do like 5 discerning dodges lmao
I would say the oil well basin is inpired by under water caves rather then the sea. The jellyfish was probably throw to give it some life
Jellies and caves sign me up

Yeah he’s definitely sparking himself but you may be right in that it’s more along those lines
4:20 Yeah, you can also see when they get monster items they're + items, so defo high rank

Oh yeah CB can probably do it!

Oh hey, the kinsect showcased here looks like Pseudocath! Which was the Speedy Sever based blased kinsect in world. Neat!
Sure is!
Thank you for the video ^^
Loving the designs of the new monsters and the little things here and there. It’s some really nice quality of life
The QOL here is some good stuff! I like this! thank you for watching
Ajrakan feels like Brachi, Nerg, and Rajang were genetically bred into this beast. I love it.
100% I see all of those in him

Just kidding ofc
I’m glad they nerfed and rebalanced stuff around. Excited to see what those changes truly are
I can't wait to see the Balahara LS, CB, and GL. I'm afraid the Ajarakan CB will just be reskinned Odogaron.

To be fair Casey has been playing MH since 2004, longer than a lot of current MH enjoyers
Are you and the Rage Gaming dude related?
Bahahaha no but I thought I would try their thumbnail arrows and stuff because it’s hilarious (people click on it apparently)
rompalico armor ftw, so cute.
YES
LONG LIVE GILLDRON!!
WE SHALL PROTECT THEM! ....unless they have a great hat or something then just a little...stab
just wanna know did they get rid of that stupid as hell annoying wirebug combat ?

Can not freaking wait
FEB 6TH WE CAN PLAY AGAIN
Dual Blades damage seemed very low compared to the rest..
