I just emptied my reservoir with a syringe and filled it back up with the bars fluid.
I think a lot of vehicles just use automatic transmission fluid normally. I’d just check the manual though.

This stuff really does work my 92 honda accord had a power steering leak and I couldn't find where it was leaking from I bought this at Walmart for only 10 bucks and it fixed the leaking I only used the stop leak fluid though the red fluid i didn't use it cuz the reservoir was already full... oh well we will just see what happens.

Worked for me! Emptied out the steering fluid reservoir, filled half of the "bar's stop leak" fluid, topped it off with some prestone, and car went smoothly since then. No loud noises/squeaks. Definitely recommend this. Saved me 400 bucks. We will see how it goes over these next few weeks.

Its just a hydraulic fluid @@karsenlin7073.
Ford specifies using Mercon V transmission fluid in a lot of its power steering systems. Same with GM, Chrysler group etc. each manufacturer has their own variant of ATF that is used in both steering and transmission.

@RV Shadow You may be a good person compared with some-but are you good enough to get into Heaven on your own? The answer is no-because God’s standard is nothing less than perfection, and none of us is perfect.
But when we come to Christ, God freely and fully forgives us all our sins, and now Heaven’s door is open to us. This is possible only because on the cross all our sins were transferred to Christ, and He became the final sacrifice for our sins. Because of Him, the Bible says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Hebrews 6:19).
Christ will give you a new love for others, and a new desire to help them and share Christ with them. He’ll also deepen the good things in your life, and prune away the bad things (and we all have them). Don’t delay, but by faith turn to Jesus and open your heart to His transforming POWER.
