This played out in many different forms, at all ages, sexes, roles etc. of slight-to-horrific abusive relationships which were ongoing for years. I do agree, they each needed love more than anyone...
Ultimately the issue comes back to the same thing time and time again-you can't help someone who God isn't drawing/doesn't draw (to himself). God is irresistible and all/awe-consuming. How on earth are YOU (your love, your caring) going to measure up to that?😋 (Like a lightning bug vs. a bonfire.😆)

It may be that it's a christian song and that it was the meaning to the one who wrote it, doesn't mean it can't have other meanings. Everyone sees things differently such as poems or drawings, based on their experiences and stuff and I myself think it's beautiful that everyone sees it their way and makes it a part of themselfs and shares their meaning and their part of the whole thing.

I will always relate this song to God and my Saviour Jesus Christ and how I'm not worthy of God's unconditional love but he still gives it to me. He has never abandoned me, never forsaken me and when I sometimes stray, he comes running and hugs my soul. Even though it's been 5 months since we separated I still feel the aching need to be by her side. I found her after 3 months and convinced her to be friends with me, but still it isn't the same. I have all this love that wants to be given, but she can't take me loving her. So, I keep it in and try not to hurt her with all my feelings, though all I want to do is hold her and to take all her worries and pain away. But it's because I loved her too much that she left in the first place, and the fact that my love hurt her that I let her go.

To all of you saying this is a Christian song, not just about some "random guy", yes it is a christian song. But the thing is, God gave us the ability to love. We are created to love our spouse or whoever with all the love we can give them. And even if you aren't a Christian, you can still love someone. He learned today about a small portion of my future plans with schooling and he said I didn't need him bcs I will be all set with my life. But try to fight this, and it will come eventually. It's not something that happens overnight, and it's a difficult battle but it's possible. And all the sudden you've have a clean day. Then two, and then three. It comes slowly and I'm not saying that relapse isn't a thing because it is, but just don't give up on yourself. Keeping going. Take it day by day. Only fight the battles for today. It will become easier and less painful in time. I've been where you are. Don't give up for your sake. Don't give up for his sake. I'm here for you too.

Sums up my relationship with my family. I'm a total bitch and I can't seem to express myself with out hurting them either. I hate myself and yet they love me. I don't know why they care so much. This song is me to my husband. He's my caretaker. He's so patient, despite how most of our relationship I've been physically disabled.
