There are 2 reasons why we will never see him playing competitive lol. First of all he said himself that if he cant play in his own chair with his own setup, he can only play master level. but honestly the guy has serious ocd, if u watch his stream, u can see that every match he is using a ruler for his hand, chair etc so its in perfect position, he also has a custom made table that can go up and down with a button so its always perfect for him. the same happened to Pawn, he has ocd aswell and he had to retire because he couldnt play well anymore. and I dont think any team will offer him a salary that will beat his chinese stream money so yeah, probably wont happen.
He even bought a shit load of mouses because when one breaks he wants to exact same mouse but even then using a new same mouse it didn’t feel the same 🤣 that saying he’s my favourite player of all time since season 3
What Apdo means is, when you hit that very top, top percent, the thing that seperates the greatest players is natural ability. You can work as hard as you like, but if you meet someone who works as hard but is just naturally better because of reaction time/genetics etc, they will beat you consistently. There's no question Apdo is one of the best, but he clearly has worked hard and put more hours in than basically anyone else, but along the way he's probably met players who put in more hours than he did, yet he beats them time and time again. He knows that even if someone with double his hours met him, he would consistently beat them because he's just naturally better (assuming they are naturally worse but worked harder and put more hours in). Eventually no matter how many hours you put in, you're not going to see the same sort of progression you saw before. It's the law of diminishing returns, 15,000 hours (with better natural talent) versus 30,000 hours (with worse natural talent by a decent margin). The guy with 15,000 hours will win because he's just naturally better, his skill ceiling is higher than the guy who worked harder.
My thoughts exactly. Moreover, people have a tendency to underestimate natural ability because they want to think they deserved being so good because of their hard work, it’s hard admitting the contrary
This is a pretty late reply, but I've learned I'm just a good jack of all trades master of none sort of guy. The way I see it, natural talent has a larger influence on how good you are at the very lowest and the very highest parts of the ladder. At the top, everyone works their asses off to be good, so what makes the difference there? The talent.
@@franzles5240 You gotta be a very talented idiot to waste a significant talent advantage by training the wrong way. It's not like people train in a bubble with secret techniques and practices ...

@@shadenessi I guess in that case you would have to define the word talent. Some would consider a Speedrunner talented, because he can endure the same routine over and over again, I know I couldn't do that.
i mean for me talent is pretty much what divides people in life, not only in league. I have a master friend who doesn't even tryhard and climbs trough plat and low diamond like it was child play, while i tryhard and get sweaty on my silver 1 promos and even lose them. Then I have friends that can effortlessly do muscle ups or cool static exercises without much training when i can't even do a single muscle-up with bands to help me and i go out of breath after 3 pull-ups done with bad form, even if i practically live in the gym and i put all my efforts in it. On the other hand i got friends who play bass and guitar for hours and hours every day but in the end they can't do the things that i effortlessly do without practicing. I think the talent it the foundation of what you can do, you need to accept what you're good at and go all in on that (if you're intersted in it ofc), in my opinion.
I made a smurf and im literally trying harder to get to iron than i tried to get to diamond. I shit u not its impossible for me to lose 3 games withojt winning 1. At the final of season 9 I have more then 6 accounts boosted from iron to gold. Is a lot of people who enjoy this game but don't have any clue how to play ! And the most asked boosters are silver to plat and bronze to gold .
Imagine generations after generations of the account being passed down to his kids and to their kids and league is still alive and his great x 20 grandson gets on the account that would just be too crazy.
The conversation flashed on-screen at 7:39 is basically the definition of "that escalated quickly." My Korean isn't amazing but they're basically talking shop, Apdo is clarifying something with her regarding the boosting, and then suddenly, "you look good in these pics" and "you wanna meet and have sex?...I'm lonely"
15:50 The thing is, when you get to the very top of any competitive arena, ALL the competitors are going to be putting in inhuman amounts of effort and practice, so what separates them is the small differences in "Natural born talent", which is just something like IQ+creativity+aggression.
Exactly. If I work as hard as Faker - hell, if I work harder than him - I still wouldn't be as good as him. But if I had more natural talent then I could work less than him and still be better. Hard work is nothing without natural talent. Hard work is just a modifier for your natural talent - there is a maximum amount of hard work you can put in. I could reach a skill level twice my natural talent then I would need more time in a day to get higher. But natural talent has no cap.
I will disagree. Everyone puts in varying degrees of hard work which can easily over time push someone to technique practice more. Lets saying player X players 1 hour a day more then player Y. Then if they both played those same hours every day for a year player X has 365 more hours played. Then lets say they play for 5 years or more like dopa and faker. Well, now this player X has 1825 hours. I know of people that don't even have that many hours in any one game they've played. So that amount of difference can be huge and with how long league has been around the current best players have so much more experience then people are just now stepping into top 100. This also isn't mentioning non play time stuff. How much X or Y player studies other players/streamers. Looks over replays and watches videos. The best league players are playing league for 8+ hours and then watching league stuff to learn for more after/before that. Again as you increase the amount of factors in involved in growth, like time + play + study + mechanics ect ect. You increase the variables involved making hard work the reason certain players in league are actually better then others. Genetics plays such a small role and doesn't make or break players beating each other. I know that top level players are good, but they aren't perfect, not even close. I can point out more then one mistake made by a pro player on every single game they play. Only time genetics would actually make a deference is when both player X and Y have practice the same hours, doing the same things and the same times. Hell even eating the same meals ect. There just way to many factors for it to matter as much as yall make it out to be.
This guy seems like a god for LoL. Great understanding of how every role works. And doesnt pass on what may seem small but help you hard in a long game

There are people with thousands and THOUSANDS of games still stock in Bronze, even Iron. Then there are people who start League, jump into Rankeds at level 30 and take 15 games for gold, then continue to climb as if it was the most natural thing. There is a HUUUGE descrepancy between those born with talent, and those not. You could also consider a diamond player with 70 games and 56% win rate in diamond, and a diamond player with 1200 games and a 50.6% winrate. One has the talent, the other one just played enough, worked hard enough to get to diamond. Yet he is *STILL* not of the same skill. Imagine where the 56% player would be after 1200 games.
Because when you're naturally good at something, the hard work you put in only unveils what's already there; the natural talent. If he says he was born with the talent, then we should believe him, because he has experienced his own journey through the years and understands that, he discovered he was good at something, and continued to unveil it, getting better each time. On the natural Talent versus hard work thing: i think its correct that exercise and practice makes up most of your skill, but at the same time, talent makes the difference between a very good and a great player. if you dont have that special perception or way of thinking to grasp the underlying fundamentals of any game, your practice can only take you so far. and im not talking about being a proffesional athlete, that you can achieve by determination and hard work, but in most competitive things there have been people that stand out. lets say Tiger woods for golf or the five gods of smash melee as examples

@@X808ShadowFox it has to do with your team's skill. Low elo, self explanatory everyone's bad at the game.
That's why life is unfair
Don't commit to anything got it
My thoughts exactly. Moreover, people have a tendency to underestimate natural ability because they want to think they deserved being so good because of their hard work, it’s hard admitting the contrary
This is a pretty late reply, but I've learned I'm just a good jack of all trades master of none sort of guy.
I learn a lot faster than everyone else I know (both in games and real life skills), but for me that skill ceiling caps fast, and those same people usually get better than me after a couple months/years.

Im literally inting amd the enemy team somehow still loses. I go jungle int every lane ( now my team has no jungler + i feed mid amd bot) and we still win. ???
@@damaster7276 Thats pretty fucked up im doing that too but i play Janna Support and try to not die (not risking plays , going to base when 50% hp not going for teamfights) and yes we still win lose 7LP win 1 game get 33LP xD
At the final of season 9 I have more then 6 accounts boosted from iron to gold. Is a lot of people who enjoy this game but don't have any clue how to play ! And the most asked boosters are silver to plat and bronze to gold .
damn that twitch sponsor at the start was hard to sit through lol.
For real..
Why?
Imagine generations after generations of the account being passed down to his kids and to their kids and league is still alive and his great x 20 grandson gets on the account that would just be too crazy.
The conversation flashed on-screen at 7:39 is basically the definition of "that escalated quickly." My Korean isn't amazing but they're basically talking shop, Apdo is clarifying something with her regarding the boosting, and then suddenly, "you look good in these pics" and "you wanna meet and have sex?...I'm lonely"
serious or you trolling
@@ottomanpapyrus9365 He is serious
Apd 1000 years later: Nice just got unbanned time to play some comp
20th day of quarantine: i learned about abdo, and i never play lol once ... ;l
lol same
Hahaha I’m not alone
Shit man, same
Ikr these league videos are great aren’t they.
So you've been in quarantine for 4 months, for a disease that only lasts 2 weeks in anyone who gets it
Even if talent is only 10% of your skill, a 10% skill edge at that level means you win every single time
This twitch thing seems like a good idea, wonder if it will take off
Xd
Bro literally take all the time you need for these kind of videos and I can guarantee you one viewer. Much love from the Bahamas 🇧🇸
Damn that one viewer really worth the deal
Imagine : in 1000 years, dopa will be unbanned and the game will eventually be balanced
This guy seems like a god for LoL. Great understanding of how every role works. And doesnt pass on what may seem small but help you hard in a long game
I love this kind of videos!!!, thanks for being here
I am glad I can entertain you!!
People who say it’s all hard work are covering up the raw talent they have compared to others that lead to a much easier road (this applies to all things not just games)

"I lack natural talent" is an excuse.
@@themeanspeedytwo6466 Its the reality smh........not everyone is gonna be number one, no matter how hard u try people with natural talent will always be above you if they put hard work in thats how reality works. I know life is unfair.
@@themeanspeedytwo6466 If I lack the talent but work hard, I still wont be as good as someone with innate talent and they also work as hard.
@@themeanspeedytwo6466 Take basketball. Being tall is a natural thing that you cant overcome by training. You CAN be born with an advantage in a certain field.
@@roarbahamut9866 That's not the same as being born with talent, that's being born with height. Let's just stick with gaming for this example. There are people with thousands and THOUSANDS of games still stock in Bronze, even Iron. These people could be considered "hard workers" as they just keep on pushing themselves, but they simply capped out. Imagine where the 56% player would be after 1200 games.
that hype when you discover a channel like this... subbed !
This is what happens when you ignore hoes, my man was never a simp....

There’s always a highlight of Sneaky getting killed in LoL videos.
Because when you're naturally good at something, the hard work you put in only unveils what's already there; the natural talent. If he says he was born with the talent, then we should believe him, because he has experienced his own journey through the years and understands that, he discovered he was good at something, and continued to unveil it, getting better each time. Sure, you put in the work, but you're only working towards that goal because you already see the potential you have and natural capabilities relative to whatever the skill is.
hes gonna pass that username and password down through the generations. in a thousand years, a legend will rise.
this video is so wide, when I watch it on my phone instead of have black bars on right and left of the video it is now on top and below the video lmao
It's 21:9 aspect ratio rather than the normal 16:9, if you have a widescreen monitor or phone it should be normal but if you have an older one it still should be just black cinematic bars on the top and bottom. Don't know why its on left and right for you
@@Exil22 my phone's aspect ratio is 18:9. I think that explains the black bars on right and left
the video for me is like that too for this video but the others videos it doesn't appear to do that oddly.
@@Exil22 lol I didn't watch it on my phone full screen so had bars on the top and bottom and didnt notice until the end lol

I love these videos you do. The research and time you put into them must be taxing. I just wanted to make sure you knew that I appreciate them.
Imagine it as a sum .. the talent you're born with PLUS the practice you put in puts you on a position.
A severe lack of talent can't be practiced away, a severe lack of practice can't be replaced with talent. Even he needed practice and spend time to mimic good new ideas to be amongst the absolute top
On the natural Talent versus hard work thing:
i think its correct that exercise and practice makes up most of your skill, but at the same time, talent makes the difference between a very good and a great player. if you dont have that special perception or way of thinking to grasp the underlying fundamentals of any game, your practice can only take you so far. and im not talking about being a proffesional athlete, that you can achieve by determination and hard work, but in most competitive things there have been people that stand out. lets say Tiger woods for golf or the five gods of smash melee as examples
Thats some next level boredom.
Being bored because youre so good at a game
He's basically the One Punch Man of LoL
21x9 it's good but not everyone has a 21x9 monitor or tv you should doo a pool to see what's the aspect ratio of your viewers and use that.
Ahh I am sorry for that... Listen I also feel like I should do it because It's also for future proofing videos because probably 2 years from now most if not all people will have 21x9. Due to the timeless nature of my videos I like to make sure that they will be nice looking even several years from now because the videos are very rewatchable. It sucks man I feel like I cannot win which is why I am not always doing 21x9 the diana documentary I believe I did 16x9
José Tobar the ratio feels awkward on iPhone 10’s i gotta say
@@Exil22 that reasoning doesnt make any sense in my opinion. you should switch over to 21x9 videos once the majority of people are watching on it. otherwise you are just going to alienate people now, so all your future proofing does nothing.
@@RaixorWasTakenSadge 100% agree. I also kind of doubt most people will have 21x9 at any point, at least for gaming. Other than MOBA, RTS and RPG games, I don't really see any reason to have one. 4K? 8k? Sure. But I don't really see people having 21x9 for any reason in the future. Even with that said, these videos would sure look better without black bars.
@@TheBreezeShoot i watched it on a 19.5:9 notchless phone so the black bars wasn't major, but it's still feel awkward because of the cropped ui's in the game

ok, the quality of the content, as always, is great but aspect ratio of this video is killing me, i don't really see the point of making it so widescreen when the videogame this video is about is mostly played in 16:9
yes its a bit pointless and a pain to watch
The game already clicks in his head, then he spends his extra energy on developing ways to benefit from that understanding.... If only the rest of us knew what we were good at when we were born...
