I have the program and do very well with it , I’ve been using the program for going on 8 years. Everything works great only problem I have is after per say 3 hr in it wants to freeze during play , but by this time I’m gave out tired lol... I’m not top notch smart but I figured all the kinks on my on , but these videos do help THANKS🔥!
+alfred sanchez It's based on their license structure - they allow you to use the "Home" version for free to eliminate the cost of getting into DJing for beginners. This version only has basic features and will only let you DJ using a computer (no hardware). Once you upgrade to a "Pro" license, you're allowed to DJ in public with hardware and receive compensation. It's basically a legality issue :)
Just got this a couple of weeks ago. Having an absolute nightmare trying to set it up with my audio interface. Trying to work out how to have an headphone mix, so that I can hear the next track to cue it while first track is playing. I've tried and tied but to no avail. At my age, it takes a bit of sinking in lol.

No controller by the way
Heya Pete :) OK what audio interface are you using? Best to either use this with a DJ controller that's got an onboard sound card because it configures automatically.

I’ve been a long time Serato user and love serato! However I’m getting more bar & pub gigs and vdj seems like it’s geared more towards that. It’s got many features serato doesn’t have. I just wish it looked different I just don’t like the layout
hi Joey, i have installed both itunes (which contains my music library) however virtual dj does not show itunes in side bar to select music from into the select list. itunes appears under the music drop downs and extensions but it only allows access to one album/song file at a time. how do i get the itunes like you have it in this video?

+Neon Beats HD With the free version you can't use it with a controller - you aren't supposed to DJ for profit, but I imagine if you were just doing it as a casual thing with just a laptop (no money involved), then it shouldn't be an issue :)

For some reason, I couldn't comment on the blog post itself. The biggest problem I've had with VDJ8 is just slightly higher level than a setup problem. Out of the box, the EQ configuration is NOT very good for mixing where I drop the Bass out of the incoming track until I want it to dominate. I have already set it to Full Kill, which is pretty important for this kind of mixing, but the center of the Bass EQ is just not very well positioned - 100Hz still leaves WAY too much of the Bass in for a mix to sound good. I haven't had the time to figure out where I need the center, but this frustrated me a LOT when I was using it because my mixes were sounding just TERRIBLE!

I have Virtual DJ, but I use my 1 terabyte external hard drive to play music on it. I don't keep music on my computer, I use my external hard drive and play from my folder. I have over 60, 000 songs. Actually I have 2 external hard drives to make sure I don't lose my music.

How do you use Beat Lock? I want to sync two songs 130bpm and have the incoming song (maybe at 120) matched at the current song of 130 then start my transition while slowing both down to match the incoming original bpm.
I did get VDJ8 downloaded on my pc afterwards. Right now I'm using itunes on a trial basis. I saw where you said in one of your videos that you can check a box in itunes to "share itunes library xml with other apps" like VDJ8. I tried that with VDJ8. I checked the itunes box. An itunes folder, along with subfolders below it do appear, but there are no songs there from itunes. How do I get the itunes songs to appear in VDJ8? I'm confused?? Thanks!

Hi there, I just had a look on their site for you and a Pro Infinity license costs US$299. It's a one-time purchase, and gives you access to all controllers, without any expiration. If you are not using it professionally, and do not use any professional equipment like a USB DJ controller, or a DJ mixer, then VirtualDJ is FREE. If you are an "Advanced Home User" then you will have to buy a license for your controller and this varies from US$49 to US$199. Hope that helps! :-)
I have created an automix playlist. All my songs are at the same BPM. When I play my songs I would like to change the first song and need it to keep that same BPM for all the remaining songs, but the BPM returns to the center. How can I make the pitch control stay for all songs?
So all your songs are the same BPM but you want the first song to be played faster? Can you not set that as the master track and then sync the tempo, so that the other tracks will also be played at that BPM?

I can't download this software. I have a 2015 hp laptop with windows 10. Each time I go to run the software it says, "what do you want to do install_virtual_dj_2018_b4514_pc.txt (33.9)? MB". I had no trouble running it on both my 2008 Lenovo with windows 7, and a brand new asus with winodws 10. I'm stumped??? Never had this issue before. My pc is 64 bit.

+Naim Mohammad In the Master Panel, under the Record/Broadcast Mix section, you'll want to click the Rec button, name the file, choose the folder, and click Save. Once you're done recording you can hit the Rec button again. Hope that helps!

I'm new so how do you add karaoke music from an external harddrive. I've right clicked on the drive where music is and chose add to database. When I checked the actual drive there is a Virtual DJ folder that has database but my music doesn't show up in the center section where you do your search. What else do I need to do? thank you
+Sharon hellum Hmm, it's possible VDJ isn't recognising that source, but you might want to just try dragging and dropping directly from your Finder on Mac or Explorer for PC with the external HD plugged in. Worth a shot! You can use FL Studio as a VST plugin with VDJ, though the best place to ask such questions is on the Digital DJ Tips Forum (www.digitaldjtips.com/forum), where the whole community can hopefully help out :)
i have a question i downloaded the free version of dj8 but all my song are not going to dj8 from itunes. Is the free version give you limited song to transfer over or i'm doing something wrong.
The free version sucks. It sounds wavey. The second one will not be used for commercial purposes. Just for family and friends. Will won't use a controller. Just the laptop. Will there still be a time limit, and how good is it?
Joey i'm having trouble with the crossfader. So ive got it my audio set as 2 soundcards (one on laptop and one ive put into the usb) deck 1 and 2. So i listen to deck 1 on speakers and deck 2 on my headphones but when i move the crossfader along it doesnt bring through the track on deck 2. Ive played around with those headphones icons that highlight on when through speaker and off when through headphones but i cant understand it and so i cant bring though the track on deck B? Im confused with it.
I'm using an external hard drive for my music library. Will Virtual DJ recollect all the analysed songs on my hard drive each time I plug it in or would I have to save it in some kind of format?

They don't know unless someone checks the licence on your computer which is likely never if you are a part time mobile dj 🤔

Kinda unstable think I'll stick with 7 pro since I already got the mappings for my pioneer controller & it works fine for me.
i never had mapiings for my ddj sb.........It recognised it and i did not have to install anything.....Just like plug and play

You can use Virtual DJ without hardware for as long you like last I checked, it's great to get started on :)

+Naim Mohammad In the Master Panel, under the Record/Broadcast Mix section, you'll want to click the Rec button, name the file, choose the folder, and click Save. Once you're done recording you can hit the Rec button again. Hope that helps!
Hi there it's me again John E. I forgot to ask you how I can play a track on either the left deck or the right deck but have both decks moving continuously even though I am only using one track on either side of the deck. Thanks. Regards. John E

I'm new so how do you add karaoke music from an external harddrive. I've right clicked on the drive where music is and chose add to database. When I checked the actual drive there is a Virtual DJ folder that has database but my music doesn't show up in the center section where you do your search. What else do I need to do? thank you
+Sharon hellum Hmm, it's possible VDJ isn't recognising that source, but you might want to just try dragging and dropping directly from your Finder on Mac or Explorer for PC with the external HD plugged in. Worth a shot! Do you have to have itunes or can you have just the regular, im not sure what you label "regular" mp3's? I would love to have this!!

been using Vdj for years now but cant seems to be able to get only vocals to play without the beats when playing songs....would be great if someone could update me on this

Not sure if it has it - the free version is very limited, so you might need to upgrade to a paid-for license
i have a question i downloaded the free version of dj8 but all my song are not going to dj8 from itunes. Is the free version give you limited song to transfer over or i'm doing something wrong.

The free version sucks. It sounds wavey. The second one will not be used for commercial purposes. Just for family and friends. Will won't use a controller. Just the laptop. Will there still be a time limit, and how good is it?
how come when I open up virtual dj it has tempo and bpm and key listed off to one side but when I plug in my controller it disappears?
Joey i'm having trouble with the crossfader. So ive got it my audio set as 2 soundcards (one on laptop and one ive put into the usb) deck 1 and 2. So i listen to deck 1 on speakers and deck 2 on my headphones but when i move the crossfader along it doesnt bring through the track on deck 2. Ive played around with those headphones icons that highlight on when through speaker and off when through headphones but i cant understand it and so i cant bring though the track on deck B? Im confused with it.

I'm using an external hard drive for my music library. Will Virtual DJ recollect all the analysed songs on my hard drive each time I plug it in or would I have to save it in some kind of format?

The free home version of VDJ is pretty limited and can't be used with hardware - can't say exactly how they would know otherwise :)
